Industry update: Owners return to horse stalls at race meetings

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) advises of changes to the biosecurity protocols in place at Victorian harness racing tracks in line with the phased easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

These protocols have been developed in accordance with government directives, guidelines, and advice that have served to protect the health and wellbeing of industry staff, participants, and the wider community.

Effective from December 17:

  •         Owners are permitted to attend the horse stalls at Victorian harness race and trial meetings.
  •         There will no longer be restrictions placed on the number of stablehands permitted to attend racetracks with licensed trainers.

Physical distancing measures remain in place, face masks must be carried at all times and should be worn when physical distancing requirements cannot be met and if requested to do so by the Stewards.
