It was all about nailing the PETstock Ballarat Cup winner in TrotStars and when A Gs White Socks saluted it capped a stunning night for John Wilkinson, who claimed the TrotStars honours on night one of the TAB Summer of Glory.

Wilkinson pared A Gs White Socks with Victoria Derby heat winners Governor Jujon and Line Up, E B Cochran Trotters Cup fourth placegetter Magicool and Beat City to amass $92,280 in prizemoney, which made him a clear winner.

Brent Taylor ($85,320) and Wayne Robertson ($83,580) finished second and third, with the former having selected the pacing and trotters cup winners among his stable of five.

The trio are among those well placed for a bold showing in the Summer of Glory TrotStars, which will be held each night of the three-night carnival. The great racing continues with the Victorian Derby and Oaks finals at Tabcorp Park Melton on January 25 and concludes with the A. G. Hunter Cup and Great Southern Star on February 1.

While each of the three nights are their own competition, carrying a $250 Coles-Myer voucher to the winner, the TrotStars entrants who draws the most prizemoney across the three nights will be the grand winner, securing a $1000 travel voucher.
