That’s the travelling itinerary for talented four-year-old trotter Crackerjack, who scored on his Australian debut in the APG Trot at Melton on Saturday night.
The Nathan Jack-prepared son of Majestic Son made a dash from midfield to the lead at the bell before scoring comfortably by four metres from Iron Women and Vytis.
“He’s a quality horse and he’s been racing quality horses over there,” Jack said.
Crackerjack, a winner of five races from 20 starts, is now likely to contest the $150,000 The Great Square at Albion Park in a fortnight.
Meanwhile, trainer Michael Cole celebrated his first win at Melton on a Saturday night when Ringer Wells took out the IRT Trot from Claudys Hero and Tweedledee.
“We were following the right horse in Claudys Hero and Kyle (Marshall) run along at a good clip. He was pretty good first-up, he needed the run and dropping back to the mile trip made all the difference,” driver Alex Ashwood said.
