Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) is pleased to announce highly respected racing administrator Dayle Brown has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

In Brown HRV has secured an experienced racing leader, whose CV reflects the unique racing knowledge required for the role having held key leadership positions at Racing Victoria (Executive General Manager Integrity Services), Greyhound Racing New South Wales (Deputy CEO), Deloitte (Manager Forensic), Betfair (Australian Integrity Manager) and HRV (Manager of Integrity).

HRV Chairman Dale Monteith said Brown’s appointment was “unanimous” and the Board was looking forward to working with the new CEO from Wednesday November 6, the day after Melbourne Cup Day.

“I’d like to congratulate Dayle on his appointment and thank the Racing Minister, the Hon. Martin Pakula, for endorsing this appointment,” Monteith said.

“Dayle’s extensive background in racing, particularly in the key areas of wagering and integrity, will be extremely beneficial for our industry.  Dayle appreciates the complexities of our sport and has a thorough understanding of the Racing Act and the challenges faced by racing people.

“We had an extremely talented list of applicants for this role and we interviewed a lot of terrific candidates, but we felt Dayle displayed the necessary unique qualities, business acumen and prior experience to lead our industry forward to an exciting future.

“Dayle is legally qualified, has been involved in representation at the highest level of government and has extensive experience in management of multiple stakeholder relationships. He also has highly developed people skills and a collaborative leadership style.”

Brown’s current roles include Deputy Chair of Victorian Racing Integrity Board, consultant steward and legal adviser to Queensland Racing Integrity Commission and Special Counsel for Andrew Croxford and Associates.
