New Zealand born-mare is something you Gotta Hav a look at

Unraced mare Gotta Hav Me has shown a lot of “potential” according to trainer Shane Sanderson ahead of her debut run at Shepparton on Tuesday.

The New Zealand-born pacer spent some time with NSW based-trainer Rickie Alchin before making the move to Victoria.

“Rickie trialled her and had her ready to race a couple of times, but she broke down the week before she had to race,” Sanderson said.

“The owner brought her home, rehabilitated her and sent her to us, and we have given her some time on the water-walker.”

The four-year-old has been a dream to work with according to the Murchison trainer.

“She has been very nice (to work) and she has got a lot of potential,” he said. “She seems to go along nicely.”

The mare out of Aliante – an eight-time winner who is yet to have another foal – has drawn one for her debut run in the Geoff Durn 4YO And Older Maiden Pace with Abby Sanderson set to drive.

“I am tipping from barrier one she will have more than enough speed to hold her own, and we will try and hold the forward position with her,” the 46-year-old horseman said.

The 2690m event is set to go at 7pm.
