Owner colours to return to Victorian harness racing

Owners will be represented by their silk colours in Victorian harness races from tomorrow for the first time since April.

In response to the unfolding COVID-19 situation earlier this year, Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) moved to driver colours only.

The change back to owners’ colours will occur in time for the rich TAB Breeders Crown races this weekend.

“We have spoken about this subject at length with industry representative groups and participants in recent weeks,” HRV CEO Dayle Brown said.

“The significant majority view in the feedback we have received is that owners want their colours represented, participants want to support that and the time is right to bring them back.

“HRV is appreciative of the resilience shown by our industry participants and owners during what has been a difficult year.”
