But a recent night at Menangle delivered a career-defining moment, with talented three-year-old trotter Pastor Dunbar giving Wilson his first Group 1 success as a trainer in the NSW Trotters Derby.
Based at Byrneside with wife Laura, who plays a key role in the stable, Wilson balances his training operation with his gardening business.
