One big TAB punter would have breathed a major sigh of relief last Wednesday night when Sunraysia star Sahara Tiger pulled victory from the jaws of defeat at his favourite stomping ground of Mildura.
Driver Ryan Sanderson tried an early move around the field with the 2023 Mildura Pacing Cup champ, but was forced back to last when death seat horse Jaxon Beach kicked up to hold him out, and then had to weave a path from five back the pegs in the home straight to record an unlikely victory.
One TAB customer had placed $4000 on the horse at $1.85 for a $7400 collect.
