Premier horsewoman Emma Stewart is expected to continue her stranglehold on the Vicbred Super Series this weekend.
Turning the futurity into her own pet project during the past decade, Stewart completed a clean sweep of the four pacing Finals for the fourth time in Melton last Saturday night.
Achieving the feat for the first time in 2012, Stewart repeated the performance by securing the two and three-year-old Finals in 2018 and ’24.
It is the seventh occasion Stewart has won both two-year-old deciders and her fifth in the three-year-old division.
Overall, Stewart has won 19 of the 30 two-year-old Finals since 2012 and 17 of the three-year-old.
Stewart’s latest haul was led by two-year-olds Some High and Kahula, while Enjoy Life and Bettor Beach were the standout three-year-olds.
Then there is the four-year-old series, with Stewart winning both Finals in 2016, ’19, ’21, ’24 and ’25, with an over total of 12.
Winner of all six Finals in 2024, Stewart is on target to emulate the result in Melton on Saturday night as four-year-olds take centre stage.
Five qualifiers for that crop were conducted in Kilmore on August 10, with Stewart’s squad proving too good on each occasion.
Victorious at her last nine starts, The Art Of Success remains the one to beat despite a tough second row draw in the Mares’ Final.
To be driven by Mark Pitt, The Art Of Success will begin from barrier 11.
“This has been her main aim all season and she is in prime shape for the Final,” Stewart said. “The draw isn’t ideal, but shouldn’t be a major concern either.”
Stewart has six runners in the entires’ and geldings’ decider, including Fairplay and The Last Trip, which are unbeaten from five starts this season.
Fairplay has fared better in barrier four, with The Last Trip to come from nine.
The duo’s stablemates Storm Collide, Apollostorm, I Am The Storm and Fox Dan have drawn one, three, six and eight.
“It wouldn’t be a surprise no matter which one wins,” Stewart said. “With the right run and luck, they’re all capable.”
