Trial 1: - GRESHAR (Well Said – Secret Desire 1.59.5, $88,700) showed good gate speed to lead from barrier four and was untroubled in scoring. ARGH ME HEARTY (Roll With Joe – Miss Astronomical) trailed GRESHAR throughout and tried hard in the straight but couldn’t pick up any ground. GEE HEE ROCKS (Pet Rock – On Fifth 1.59.2, $12,670) ran into third after being one out and one back throughout with DATIZIT (Sportswriter – Precious Macray) in fourth after racing three back on the markers. DANCING WITH FLO (A Rocknroll Dance – Narree Rose) was held up for a run at a vital stage from four back on the markers and ended up in fifth. SHARGREG (Art Major – Estasi) galloped in the score up and was a clear last early. He remained last of the seven (1-2) but picked up WUNDURRA, which raced without cover, in the latter stages.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.5             Final Half: - 59.4               Margins: - 5m, 15m

Trial 2: - ALL I CAN BE was clearly the class runner of the trial being a C14/M1 with his nearest rival being NUCLEAR NIKKY (C1). ALL I CAN BE worked to the lead from NUCLEAR NIKKY after 300m and won untouched. NUCLEAR NIKKY tried hard in the straight and beat the remainder of the field by a large margin. SUPPLEMENTS tried to lead throughout and finished second in front of SNEAKIN AROUND, which did a lot wrong. He galloped at the start before tacking on. He then broke stride when coming away from the inside at the 800m then again at the 400m. The juvenile trotter SKY EAGLE finished last of the four after trailing the leader throughout but he went to the line under a throttle hold and never peeled off the back of SUPPLEMENTS at any stage so he should have finished a lot closer.

Mile Rate: - 2.10.6           Final Half: - 61.7               Margins: - 7m, 2m

Mile Rate: - 2.11.3           Final Half: - 62.7               Margins: - 2m, Head

Trial 4: - SOLARSONIC was clearly the class runner of the field being a C13 assessed pacer. KELLYS IDEAL was a large margin away in third position.

BEAUTYS SHADOW held the advantage of the inside around the first corner and tried to lead throughout but was collared on the home turn. MALLEE JET (Dawn Ofa New Day – Forget The Frills 2.3.8, $6,060) settled in fourth and finished in that position ahead of COURAGE DRAFT (trailed leader) and MISTER JIMARINGLE (Modern Art – Caro Ella 2.3.1, $6,430) was tailed off after a slow beginning.

He was second with PRETTYPUD in third after moving into the death seat from five back on the markers at the 1000m mark. THE VERGINIAN was four back on the markers and was doing his best work late, finishing in fourth but picking up some ground. DREAMINS EASY was without cover for the first 700m before easing onto the markers to be last. He tried to follow PRETTYPUD in the final circuit but didn’t have enough acceleration. ROCK ON REGAL finished at the tail after racing three back on the markers throughout.

UNION LIZ (Union Guy – Lohi Liz 1.59.9, $32,367) settled five back on the markers before moving into the one wide line to trail PEPPERBERRY at the 800m. She was still a long way back on the home turn but she finished hard out wide on the track for an eye-catching second. INSULTING (Hes Watching – Intoxicating 1.57.7, $79,060) showed very good gate speed to lead comfortably and fought on well for third despite being headed with 300m remaining. He finished strongly and grabbed AMERICAN TIGER on the line. LOST FOUR WORDS had to come out wider to avoid the tiring QUADRICEP and finished a distant third ahead of DINO BELLINO. He used the sprint lane and looked to be a good winning chance but galloped momentarily in the home straight. Mile Rate: - 2.8.7             Final Half: - 60.31             Margins: - ½ Head, 2m

Trial 3: - ILLAWONG KIM began best and led comfortably early before taking cover behind DO NOT SURRENDER (Bettors Delight – Top Tempo 1.59.5, $225, 513) at the 1300m mark. DO NOT SURRENDER had a good run thereafter and just held off ILLAWONG KIM’s challenge in the straight. CANT TOP THIS (Rocknroll Heaven – Tamara Hall USA) settled last of the four and was able to run passed GEE SMITH (Sportswriter – Our Burning Desire 155.9, $81,250) (3 back markers) right on the line. Mile Rate: - 1.58.6           Final Half: - 58.05             Margins: - 2m, 2m

Trial 6: - PIN STRIPES hasn’t started for over a year and was very impressive in his trial victory. It was just a field of three runners but he set up a strong tempo and finished off in a dazzling final quarter of 26.54 seconds. Considering BETTOROCKBETTOROLL has won at his past two starts and couldn’t get close to PIN STRIPES in the straight after trailing him throughout, PIN STRIPES appears to be a future winner. SOME STONE couldn’t go with the Emma Stewart trained duo and was last throughout.

MAGICLASS (Majestic Son – Cookeyslass 2.4.1, $43,260) settled in fourth and moved into the one out one back trail at the 800m. KYVALLEY CLAIRE was tailed off after galloping at the start.

MY CARMEN was the best away and speared to the lead before surrendering to ROCKASAKI with 1300m remaining. She used the sprint lane and finished a close third with none of the leading trio being fully extended. BEACH TIME (Somebeachsomewhere – Karamea Toastime) was last of the four runners throughout and finished a distance away but she was the only horse in the trial that is yet to have started.

She settled four back on the markers behind BLUE CHIP DIAMOND (Heston Blue Chip – Beloka Diamond 2.0.1, $145,338) and made up ground on the leading pair without being pushed. PLAYFUL MISS (Shadow Play – Indigo Smile 1.59.1, $28,550) came from last and picked up BLUE CHIP DIAMOND in the final 200m.
