It could be a big weekend for Trial File followers with four prospects stepping out across two states.

Form analyst Craig Rail ran his microscope across Victoria's trial circuit again this week and plucked out a further five Blackbookers, swelling the short-list to 21.

While none of the new additions - Hey Karla, My Mate Yankee, Beach Villa, Fiamme and Petillante - step out in the near future, two Blackbookers (Ideal Dan and Just Hope) will race at Bathurst on Saturday, Just As Well will race at Melton on Saturday and Globe Trekker will contest Sunday's Speeding Spur Horsham Trotters Cup.

SHEPPARTON 18/03/21

Trial 1: - WATCH AND ACT fired to the lead shortly after the start and ran along at a reasonable tempo. He started to race keenly when approaching the bell lap and established a good lead. He sustained the run and scored by a large margin. He is racing at Bendigo tonight but is taking on a strong field including the Homegrown Classic winner Central Otago. HEY KARLA (Majestic Son – Good Thanks 2.3.2, $67,188) was a very good run for a juvenile trotter in second position and is worth following. She settled in fourth, moved away from the inside at the 500m mark and made up many lengths, defeating the remainder of the field by a good margin. DIDN’T MIDGE was three back on the markers and finished third ahead of IM BOBBY (Majestic Son – Aldebaran Peggy), which raced second last on the markers for the majority of the journey. FUGLE (Majestic Son – A Bit Amiss) was caught without cover, eased back to last and remained in a rearward position without being pushed. STARLIGHT RUBY (Yankee Spider – Starlights Child 2.2.2, $60,315) trailed the leader, pulled hard and was chasing determinedly in the final lap but broke stride with 300m remaining and lost her chance. She made her debut at Shepparton on Wednesday night but she galloped again and finished tailed off.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.5            Final Half: - 60.2               Margins: - 20m, 18m

BLACKBOOKER: - Hey Karla

Trial 2: - LET’S MAKE TRACKS settled sixth on the outside, came out three horses wide at the 450m mark and finished off best to score nicely. He backed up two nights later to record a brilliant first up victory at Melton. BEALE STREET settled four back on the outside, came out three horses wide at the 1300m and was without cover shortly afterwards. He hit the front turning for home and attempted to go with LET’S MAKE TRACKS but had to be content for a close second. OUR REACTOR settled down last, trailed into the race nicely and went to the line jogging for an eye-catching third. It was a good performance and he is worth following. STORMTIDE was without cover early, pushed to the lead then took cover at the 1400m. He ran through late for fourth ahead of ROCKIN WITH THEDEVIL, which gained a one out and one back trail. YELLOW STONE settled five back on the markers, moved into the running lane at the 1300m (1-4) and came out four horses wide at the 300m mark. He finished sixth in front of MAJOR ZONE (Art Major – Here Come Zoe 1.55.2, $113,996), which was shuffled to three back on the markers after leading early. MAJOR ZONE is competing against his own age group at Cobram on Monday and has shown some ability at the trials. ROLLING REMONA (Pet Rock – Our Miss Vivienne 1.56.1, $83,960) was four then five back on the markers and was able to beat two runners to the line. She backed up with a very nice fourth on debut at Shepparton on Wednesday night and contests the same race as MAJOR ZONE at Cobram on Monday. FLAMIN STEEL was without cover early before pushing to the lead with 1400m remaining. He tired late and beat home DAYBREAK DRAMA, which was the first leader of the event, took a trail 50m after the start, got shuffled to four back on the markers and had no clear run at the finish.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.1            Final Half: - 57.6               Margins: - Head, 6m

Trial 3: - OUR EDUARDO DENARIO trailed the leader, moved to the outside with 500m remaining and was just able to get the better of the pacemaker CRYSTAL FLAME (Courage Under Fire – Crystal Reign 2.3.3, $33,714) in the run to the finish. He backed up to finish seventh at Shepparton on Wednesday night but he might find his assignment at Cobram on Monday to be a little more suitable. CRYSTAL FLAME was gunned down late but she showed brilliant gate speed to lead early from a wide draw. DANCE WITH SOMEBODY (Somebeachsomewhere – Dancing With Daisy) settled three back on the markers, used the sprint lane and went to the line with something in reserve. PATSY VALENTINE (American Ideal – Brighty Valentine 1.54.8, $87,170) was five back on the markers, worked into the clear approaching the home turn and picked up some ground with being under a hard hold over the concluding stages. TENNESSEA WALTZ (Somebeachsomewhere – Yankee Showgirl 1.56.5, $32,806) was six back on the markers and beat home NELRON (Blissfull Hall – Madam Jasper), which settled down last and MINNIE DIVA (Great Success – Sailors Sweetheart 2.2.0, $12,030) finished at the tail of the field after settling in fourth, breaking stride at the 1100m and racing without cover for the remainder of the trip.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.5            Final Half: - 59.6               Margins: - Neck, 6m

Trial 4: - LOCHINVAR CHIEF settled three back on the markers, moved to the outside with 300m remaining and sprinted sharply to score nicely in preparation for his shot at the Bathurst Gold Chalice. He unfortunately failed to qualify for the Final of that series after he trailed the leader and finished fourth in his heat performance on Wednesday. EL BOSTON showed very good gate speed to lead and attempted to lead throughout. He ran along at a genuine tempo so it was a decent performance to finish in second position. He has a few tricks but he is some chance at Bendigo tonight if he is on his best behaviour. NARUTAC PRINCE was without cover early and ended up being restrained to be last of the seven runners. He was able to work into fifth position when trouble occurred with 1400m remaining and waited for the sprint lane to arrive in the straight. He switched back to the inside and ran home strongly late to miss out narrowly. It was a good performance leading into his winning effort in a heat of the Homegrown Classic at Ballarat on Thursday night. CHANGEOVER GIRL trailed the leader and came to the outside turning for home. She held her ground in the straight and was untouched in going to the line. STARSBYTHEBEACH was four back on the markers and moved into the one out and one back trail with 300m remaining. He finished fifth ahead of ROCKIN IN MEMPHIS, which settled six back on the markers and lost 15m when the trotter ALDEBARAN CRESCENT galloped in front of him with 1400m remaining. ALDEBARAN CRESCENT got back trotting quickly and settled in front of ROCKIN IN MEMPHIS but he was able to pass her in the home straight. It wasn’t a good final hit-out for ALDEBARAN CRESCENT, which is racing in the Group Three Carlotta’s Pride at Melton on Saturday night but she is suited over the sprint distance when she is on her best behaviour.

Mile Rate: - 2.0.1            Final Half: - 57.6               Margins: - Neck, Neck

Trial 5: - MALHANA MUSCLES (Down Under Muscles – Hanabration 2.6.9, $6,119) stepped away nicely from the standing start to find the lead. He set up a slow tempo and did everything right to win the trial by a comfortable margin. DASH OF FLAIR trailed MALHANA MUSCLES, came to the outside with 400m remaining and quickly got on level terms but broke stride. He lost 50m before getting back into a trot and was flying home at the finish so he should have won the trial. MILLEE (Rock N Roll Heaven – Jovial Jurno Lombo 1.57.6, $24,898) began in a trot but was very slow off the mark and lost a lot of ground. She broke stride with 1400m remaining and was tailed off for the remainder of the trip.

Mile Rate: - 2.11.7          Final Half: - 61.1               Margins: - 20m, Distanced

CRANBOURNE 20/03/21

Trial 1: - DESDEMORA led throughout and was unchallenged from the outset. She skipped clear of her rivals with 500m remaining and raced away in the straight to win comfortably. BUNDISGOOD settled three back on the inside, moved away from the markers with 300m remaining and finished on quite well for second. WICKED LIQUOR settled down last of the four runners, moved away from the inside at the quarter pole but started trotting roughly and lost valuable ground. He balanced up in the home straight and was starting to pick up some leeway in the final 50m. SANDYS SPARKLE was the last one to greet the judge after trailing the leader throughout. Both BUNDISGOOD and SANDYS SPARKLE backed up at the Cranbourne meeting on Tuesday but were unplaced behind Me Pat Malone.

Mile Rate: - 2.9.7            Final Half: - 61.1               Margins: - 25m, 8m

Trial 2: - ICANMOTOR commenced from the second line and settled three back on the markers. He moved to the outside with 300m remaining and moved up to join the leader on the home turn. He battled on well in the straight and scored by a narrow margin. MAMMA KASS (Rock N Roll Heaven – Star Chaser 2.1.1, $27,883) trailed the leader and used the sprint lane. She accelerated nicely and appeared to be the winner in the straight but she missed out by a nose on the line. JAY BEE finished in third position after trying to lead all of the way and GEE HEE ROCKS was the last one to finish after being caught without cover early and restraining to the tail of the field.

Mile Rate: - 2.7.0            Final Half: - 60.1               Margins: - Nose, 1m

Trial 3: - COMMANDER BUZZ (Betting Line – Star Chaser 2.1.1, $27,883) settled three back on the markers and switched into the sprint lane in the home straight. He accelerated beautifully over the concluding stages and ran away from his rivals to score untouched so he appears to be very promising. MYSTIC CASTLE attempted to lead all of the way and finished in second position with A LIL BETTOR being in third after trailing the leader and moving to the outside with 500m remaining. CAUGHT OUT (Shadow Play – Sheila Blige 1.59.4, $49,144) settled in last position and moved into the one out and one back trail when leaving the back straight but remained at the rear of the field at the finish.

Mile Rate: - 2.7.9            Final Half: - 58.2               Margins: - 10m, 8m

BENDIGO 22/03/21

Trial 1: - LONGARMOFTHELAW stepped away fairly well and trailed the leader moving into the first corner. He remained in second until moving to the outside at the quarter pole. He hit the lead before the home turn and was able to go on and win the trial. MY MATE MAX (Wind Cries Maori – Marong Miss) stepped away quickly to lead and set up a moderate tempo on the wet track. He kicked on determinedly after being passed by LONGARMOFTHELAW in the straight but broke stride right on the line. TRUMPIT LIL settled three back on the markers and started to yield ground on the home turn. She broke stride with 150m remaining and finished a distant third. MISS VENOM (Bacardi Lindy – Princess Venom 2.6.4, $28,866) broke stride just after the start and was tailed off for the remainder of the trial.

Mile Rate: - 2.10.5          Final Half: - 61.8               Margins: - 3m, 16m

Trial 2: - PINNACLE HOPE began quickly to lead and always travelled nicely. He ran along at an even tempo and went to the line with plenty in reserve to safely hold his rivals at bay. CROSSROADER settled three back on the markers and moved to the outside with 500m remaining. He was chasing hard down the straight and was picking up ground on the winner but he was fully extended going to the post. PINNACLE HOPE and CROSSROADER are competing in a heat of the Eureka Series at Bendigo this evening and both are awkwardly drawn. FOREST FORCE finished in third position after trailing the leader and using the sprint lane. ANGUS BROMAC was last of the four runners for the duration.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.4            Final Half: - 58.4               Margins: - 1m, 1m

Trial 3: - SOULWRITER settled four back on the markers and moved to the outside to be in the one out and one back trail with 700m remaining. He came out three horses wide at the 300m mark and finished off well to get the prize. He is taking on a strong field in tonight’s heat of the Eureka Series and the winner of trial two, Pinnacle Hope ran a significantly faster mile rate on the day. HONEY CULLEN trailed the leader and was held up for a run at a vital stage before using the sprint lane. He finished off strongly for an unlucky second. He is drawn poorly on the outside of the front line at Bendigo this evening. HEZALITTLECAESAR settled three back on the markers and moved into the death seat at the 700m mark. He joined the leader on the home turn but was gunned down late. JOLTED JOURNEY finished fourth after trying to lead throughout. Both HEEZALITTLECAESAR and JOLTED JOURNEY are contesting the final event at Bendigo this evening with HEEZALITTLECAESAR having the advantage of a trailing draw. RULES DON’T APPLY was last of the five runners throughout and was trotting a little roughly in the back straight on the final occasion.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.0            Final Half: - 59.8               Margins: - 1.5m, 1m

Trial 4: - IRENE ROSE began fast to find the lead, backed off the tempo mid-race and was able to hold off her rivals to win the prize. SHEZA SAILOR (Roll With Joe – Numismatic) settled three back on the markers, moved up without cover at the bell and finished in second position with SAN ANTONIA ROSE (Bacardi Lindy – Rosetta) putting in another reasonable trial effort for third. She trailed the leader and never peeled to the outside at any stage, going to the line hard held with seemingly plenty in reserve. WISH UPONA DREAM (Wishing Stone – Canadian Dream 2.0.8, $52,312) settled four back on the markers and went back to the sprint lane in the straight. She finished in last position but wasn’t beaten by far.

Mile Rate: - 2.7.5            Final Half: - 62.2               Margins: - 1.5m, 1.5m

Trial 5: - Abandoned

Trial 6: - DENNY ROCKS (Rock N Roll Heaven – Jodi Lindenny 2.3.8, $8,206) was without cover early and restrained to be three back on the markers in last position. He moved to the outside with 600m remaining and worked to the front in the home straight to record a very soft win. AS SHE SAYS (Well Said – Arts Bliss 2.0.1, $81,275) began quickly and attempted to lead all of the way. She finished well ahead of CURVEBALL (Betterthancheddar – Jaz Equity 1.57.5, $54,023), which was in the trailing position throughout and couldn’t go with the leading pair over the concluding stages.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.0            Final Half: - 58.9               Margins: - 7m, 30m

Trial 7: - TOOBY GOLD (Sportswriter – Tess Finnegan 1.57.0, $13,660) began quickly and set up a slow tempo. He went to the line without being fully extended and won comfortably at the finish. SPEEDY SPIDA (Betterthancheddar – Rosa Toscana) settled four back on the inside, moved into the one out and one back trail with 600m remaining, came out three and four horses wide on the home turn and worked home well into second position. PAS GUARANTEE (Guaranteed – Dieing Secret 1.57.1, $68,688) was three back on the markers before moving into the death seat at the 600m mark. He battled on for a close up third and SABOTAGE (He’s Watching – Roxie Romance) was the last horse to greet the judge after trailing the leader throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.9            Final Half: - 59.0               Margins: - 2m, 1m

Trial 8: - SIXTY settled three back on the inside, moved away from the markers at the 600m and went to the line strongly in a soft win over IMNOPUMPKIN, which tried to lead throughout. OUR DOREEN DAYS trailed the leader and used the sprint lane so he enjoyed the perfect trip but he always travelled well and he performed nicely considering he is assessed at a National Ratings 50 and the first two horses across the line are rated in the seventies. The trotter TIBER ran a distant fourth after being last early before moving around the tiring ABITOFDELIGHT (Bitobliss – Karim Vale 2.1.4, $4,463) in the back straight and chasing hard. He did perform nicely despite being beaten by a large margin. ABITOFDELIGHT was without cover early, eased to be four back on the markers and began yielding ground with 600m remaining.

Mile Rate: - 1.58.1          Final Half: - 57.5               Margins: - 5m, 2m

Trial 9: - BACKWARDS FIRST began quickly to lead and ambled away from his two rivals to win by a very large margin. The time wasn’t very fast but considering there was no horse near him in the early and middle stages, it was just like a solo trial. DESIRE TO LIVE was able to land second with her only other rival MAKIN GOOD galloping at the start. She was losing ground gradually on the winner throughout and finished a distant second. The former Queensland trotter MAKIN GOOD broke stride at the start and lost 50m. He was never able to recover and finished at the tail of the field. He makes his Victorian debut from the outside of the front line at Bendigo this evening.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.7            Final Half: - 59.4               Margins: - 100m, 20m

MARYBOROUGH 21/03/21

Trial 1: - Only the one trial was conducted on the very wet track at Maryborough and the David Murphy prepared mare FINAL PEACE was the winner. She gained a one out and one back trail at the bell after initially being five back on the markers, came out wide on the turn and chased hard to pick up the leader INAUGURATE on the line. INAUGURATE doesn’t often lead but in the wet conditions, he found the front comfortably. He kicked well clear at the quarter pole but was run down late. He backed up at Ballarat on Thursday night and finished ninth behind Helgart, which completed two wins in just two days. SAVANNAH JAY JAY was without cover early, dropped to be four back on the markers, moved up without cover again at the bell and battled on quite well for third. MY SKYPOCKET was fourth after settling six back on the markers and moving into the running lane (1-2). MARLA trailed the leader and finished fifth ahead of EARS TO YOU (Fly Like An Eagle – Bye Bye Luv Lombo 1.58.3, $6,210), which was three back on the inside. FREMARKSPOETRY broke at the start and lost 30m hence was the last horse to greet the judge.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.6            Final Half: - 58.6               Margins: - Head, 15m

HAMILTON 21/03/21

Trial 1: - SHOW ME THE MOOLAH was stood down to trial after breaking stride in the Mount Gambier Trotters Cup. He was able to take out the opening trial from the pacer IRISHMURPHY with KING JEWELIEN being in third position. The qualifier REMEMBER OUR KENAE (Armbro Variable – My Sweet Caroline), which is a half sister to My Sweet Alla Ray, a gelding that was placed, was the last horse to complete the course.

Mile Rate: - Not Given   Final Quarter: - 30.0       Margins: - 2m, 10m

Trial 2: - TROUBADOUR broke stride in the latter stages at Stawell and was stood down to trial. He led throughout at a recent Charlton victory and recorded handy time to win the trial over his stable mate NANCYS BOY. MYNAMEISJEFF hasn’t raced since October 2019 and finished last of the three runners. He has had three starts for two wins and a second so he has ability when racing at his peak form.

Mile Rate: - 1.57.8          Final Half: - 56.9               Margins: - 1.5m, 8m

Trial 3: - MY PORSCHE was stood down to trial after pulling hard and dropping out at Horsham on March 08. He was able to defeat SWITCHER, which was unplaced in two performances at Mount Gambier back in February. MISS GABBY OKANE finished third ahead of the qualifier TOODLE PIP (Art Major – Swift Retort 2.4.4, $4,606), which is a half sister to Rigel, which boasted a career best mile rate of 1.54.8.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.7            Final Half: - 60.4               Margins: - 16m, 4m

Trial 4: - JAEDEN was able to gain some confidence with a runaway victory in the final trial. He defeated the Jim Barker prepared duo JEWEL OF SAFARI and CEEULATER (Safari – Regards 2.3.2, $6,175), which is related to seven winners, five in 2.0.0, including Regardless (1.55.8).

Mile Rate: - 2.0.7            Final Half: - 59.4               Margins: - 20m, Neck

TABCORP PARK, MELTON 22/03/21

Trial 1: - MIELICKI settled three back on the inside and used the sprint lane to claim the prize in the opening trial of the afternoon. He isn’t fool proof at this stage of his career but he went to the line with something in reserve to claim the prize. BALTICA (The Pres – Baltic Sun) finished second after settling down in sixth and ending up being five back on the markers from the 1400m. He moved away from the inside half way down the back straight, gained a one out and one back trail and worked home well out wide on the track late. MAJESTIC JEWEL finished in third position after trailing the leader and moving away from the inside at the 400m mark. She returns from a spell at Horsham on Sunday. SIX NATIONS was four back on the markers for the majority of the trip and worked past the early leader MANO DE DIOS with AMUNET being the last horse to complete the course after being slow away from the standing start and losing 30m in the early stages. ASTRO settled five back on the markers but started yielding ground with 1300m remaining and was retired out of the trial.

Mile Rate: - 2.8.1            Final Half: - 61.81    Margins: - Neck, ½ Head

Trial 2: - SOEXTRA began very quickly to lead shortly after the start and ran along at a reasonable tempo. He only scored by a narrow margin but he still finished off in fast final sectionals so it was a tidy performance. TANGOINGWITHSIERRA continued her good trial form with a handy finishing second after coming off the back of the leader with 300m remaining. She returns from a spell at Melton on Saturday night where she should run a forward race. AMAYA BECOMES was three back on the inside and used the sprint lane to finish just in front of SHE WILL ROCK, which came to the outside from last approaching the home turn. SHE WILL ROCK is awkwardly drawn in the opening event at Melton on Saturday night. Despite the handy final sectionals, it didn’t appear that any of the four runners were at full tilt in the run to the finish.

Mile Rate: - 1.58.2          Final Half: - 57.34    Margins: - Head, 5.5m

Trial 3: - Only two runners contested the third trial with MAJUCKTE (Majestic Son – Veruckte Phoenix 1.59.1, $35,908) leading throughout to get the prize. She is out of Veruckte Phoenix, which showed a lot of ability, and she ambled around to win her trial untouched. OUR WARRIOR (Yankee Spider – Charliesbaby 2.3.5, $18,352) went with MAJUCKTE early, took a trail 200m after the start then couldn’t go with the winner over the latter stages.

Mile Rate: - 2.9.9            Final Half: - 65.22    Margin: - 57m

Trial 4: - ROCKINGWITHSIERRA was without cover early before finding the lead with 1300m remaining. She ran along at an even tempo and was able to hold on in the run to the finish. ESSPE SUPREME was in the one out and one back trail before being left stranded without cover when ROCKINGWITHSIERRA found the lead. He battled on well at the finish and missed out by a narrow margin. RUESLAN settled four back on the inside, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 1200m and came out three horses wide at the 500m. She tried hard and finished a close up third. MEGIDDO led out, took a trail at the 1300m and used the sprint lane to finish in fourth position. GOODLOOKIN ROOSTER ended up being three back on the markers and ran fifth ahead of OUR GEORGINA ROSE, which was last throughout but wasn’t beaten by far and was never extended at any stage of the event. GOODLOOKIN ROOSTER has drawn on the outside of the front line at Cobram on Monday.

Mile Rate: - 1.58.0          Final Half: - 57.70    Margins: - ½ Neck, 1.5m

Trial 5: - MY MATE YANKEE began very fast to find the lead and rolled along at a genuine tempo. He kicked well clear before the home turn and won easily. ABITOFADREAMER was caught out three horses wide early, eased into the one out and one back trail then came out three horses wide at the 400m mark. He picked up ground in the final stages and was able to get the better of ORLANDOS GIFT, which trailed the leader throughout. ROSIES PRIDE finished fourth after settling three back on the markers. The qualifier ALDEBARAN HUEY (Majestic Son – Aldebaran Honey) was the last horse on the markers throughout and beat home ALDEBARAN MAVERICK, which was left stranded without cover for the entire journey.

Mile Rate: - 2.3.3            Final Half: - 61.13    Margins: - 12.5m, Head

BLACKBOOKER: - My Mate Yankee

Trial 6: - BETTER ECLIPSE began well to lead early then took a trail with 1200m remaining. He raced keenly in the trail, moved to the outside with 300m remaining and proved to be too strong in the run to the finish. LUVBITE (Betting Line – Mach And Me 1.58.4, $159,884) did well for a juvenile taking on older horses. She settled four back on the markers early, moved into the death seat at the 900m, was parked out even wider approaching the home turn then switched to the middle and ran home well. OUR DOWNUNDER MACH was without cover early before pushing forward to find the lead at the 1200m. He backed off the speed mid-race but couldn’t match the speed of BETTER ECLIPSE and LUVBITE at the finish. JAK MAGIC settled down last on the outside, gained a out one and one back trail from the 900m mark and tried hard for fourth. SCHNAPPSHOT finished in fifth position after being four back on the markers and moving into the running lane at the 600m (1-2). CALYPSO MISTRESS was last past the post after being three back on the markers for the majority of the trip.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.4            Final Half: - 58.12    Margins: - 2m, 2.5m

Trial 7: - ROYAL CHARLOTTE began brilliantly and led by a clear margin. She was unchallenged from the start and was able to win comfortably in the run to the finish. AORANGI was stood down to trial after breaking several times in the run at Menangle on March 02. He trailed the leader throughout and never put a foot wrong, finishing in second position. ONE MUSCLE HILL settled three back on the markers and went to the line hard held in third position. NATTY PAGGER is a former New Zealander, which boasts a consistent record. He settled last on the markers early, used the sprint lane and was working home quite well at the finish. SET ME FREE is another former New Zealander, which has had the one victory across the Tasman. He broke stride on the first turn and lost 50m hence he was the last horse to cross the line.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.5            Final Half: - 59.31    Margins: - 5m, Head

Trial 8: - DREAMERS DELIGHT began fast to lead, took a trail at the 800m, moved away from the inside at the 300m and dashed home for an easy win. It has taken her some time to hit top gear in Australian but she is starting to progress nicely. She looms as a winning chance in a heat of the Eureka series at Bendigo this evening. MACHANICAL settled in third position, moved up without cover from the 1100m, worked to the front with a half mile remaining and couldn’t hold off the challenge of DREAMERS DELIGHT over the latter stages. PROMISE ME PLEASE (Bettors Delight – All Promises 1.56.5, $220,685) trailed the leader early before ending up being three back on the markers at the 800m mark. She is out of the former top Queensland mare All Promises and battled on fairly well over the concluding stages to finish third. WHITESOFTHIEREYES was four back on the markers for the majority of the trip and CIVIS ROMANUS (Julius Caesar – Aldebaranblissbomb) was last after breaking stride in the score up and losing approximately 50m before the starter turned on the green light.

Mile Rate: - 2.0.1            Final Half: - 59.98    Margins: - 7.5m, 8.5m

Trial 9: - BEACH VILLA (Somebeachsomewhere – Aston Villa 1.58.1, $15,331) is a beautifully bred pacer being closely related to five winners including Yankee Rockstar (1.52.2) and Poster Boy (1.49.1). He raced without cover in the early stages, found the lead at the 1400m and was untouched going to the line to win easily. LIGHTNING JASH (Betting Line – Westgate Chick 2.4.9, $8,285) settled three back on the markers and moved up without cover from the 600m mark. He chased determinedly for second position. FIAMMA (Bettors Delight – Twice As Hot $53,580) is a sister to Flaming Flutter (1.49.2) and Two Times Bettor (1.52.0) and appears to have plenty of ability. She settled four back on the inside, moved to the outside with 300m remaining and ran home nicely late for an eye-catching third. BETTOR ROLL ON (Bettors Delight – Rockaround Sue USA 1.51.0, $626,181) led out then took a trail at the 1400m and finished in fourth position. GOODTIME ROY (Always B Miki – Victree Bette) showed gate speed but raced roughly shortly after the start. He settled down in last position and again raced greenly when he came to the outside with 600m remaining. There should be a few future winners coming out of this trial.

Trial 10: - FARADY HANOVER USA is a former American pacer, which won at her last appearance in her home country back in October. She joins trainer Emma Stewart and recorded fast final sectionals in her runaway trial victory, where she led throughout. GHOST OF TIME (A Rocknroll Dance – Margot Macray 1.59.2, $3,375) did a very good job to finish in second position and is also worth following. He settled down four back on the markers and moved to the death seat at the 600m before kicking on well at the finish. BUZZ LIKA BEE was without cover early and was restrained to be last of the main division. He came out very wide on the home turn and ran home strongly late for an eye-catching third. The first three place getters all trialled well enough to suggest there should be a win beckoning in the near future. KITCH MACRAY (Art Major – Signorina Macray 2.2.2, $8,592) settled three back on the markers and filled fourth spot from WEMEN BELLA (Sportswriter – Wemen Wendymae 1.59.8, $34,314), which was fifth throughout. PAS DE COURU trailed the leader and yielded ground over the final stages. IM ARTS BETTORSECRET broke stride at the start and lost over 50m so he was tailed off for the duration.

She showed good acceleration at the finish and scored narrowly over PETILLANTE (SOmebeachsomewhere – Art De Triomphe 1.58.8, $11,598), which ran an eye-catching second after settling down last early. She followed IRISH BLACK LABEL before switching to the inside, being momentarily held up and firing along the sprint lane late. JAWSOFLINCOLN (Art Major – Lincoln Room USA) trailed the leader early, moved to the outside at the 900m markers, hit the front with 500m remaining and was run down late. AZELLIAS FAME (Betting Line – American Dreamer 1.59.9, $4,538) was without cover in the early stages, restrained to last and was able to pick up FLEXI BET (Betting Line – Save Me Christian 1.57.0, $42,862) (3 back markers, trailed leader 900m) and MODERN GINGER (Modern Art – Thegingerbreadgirl), which attempted to lead throughout.

BALLARAT 23/03/21

Trial 1: - GOT EQUITY led early, took a trail at the bell and came to the outside with 300m remaining. He gradually got the better of GOODTIME CRACKER and was able to land the thick end of the prize. GOODTIME CRACKER broke at the start and lost approximately 15m, moved up without cover and pressured the leader before working to the front at the bell. He kicked on strongly for a game second. REMI MAGIC was last on the markers from the bell and finished ahead of ELEGANT (Somebeachsomewhere – Spokeswoman 1.56.5, $71,557), which settled one position ahead of her in the run.

She set up a reasonable tempo and kicked on well in the run to the finish. YERING SOHO (American Ideal – Seshny Bromac 1.53.9, $124,554) trailed forward behind her stable mate and came to the outside with 400m remaining. The pair staged a good battle down the straight but GOODTIME JESSIE was a little bit too strong. VAPAR BRENDA (Betterthancheddar – Christa 1.58.3, $28,897) was slow away and settled down a clear last. She continued to lose ground in the run and ended up being a distant third.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.4            Final Half: - 59.2               Margins: - Head, 150m

Trial 3: - STEAM ROLLED settled three back on the markers and moved through to trail the leader on the home turn when he gained a clear passage at the right time and finished off best to score easily over VAPAR FIRE, which attempted to lead throughout. He is drawn on the pole position at Horsham on Sunday and might be able to run a cheeky race. ERNIE ELDORADO, which is the sire of Remi Magic that finished third in the opening trial, trailed the leader, moved away from the markers on the home turn and finished in third position. AN FELLA MOR (Major In Art – Mumsthaword Lombo 2.0.9, $17,758) settled down last and became a little fierce mid-race. He remained at the rear of the field for the duration.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.7            Final Half: - 60.0               Margins: - 7m, 20m

Trial 4: - MORNINGS appeared to be well placed in the trial considering she is assessed as a National Ratings 74. She led throughout and won the trial softly from SEAROVER, which raced in the trail throughout. SEAROVER is poorly drawn in the opening event on Horsham Cup day. AMORE ROCK settled down last of the three runners, moved to the outside with 300m remaining and went to the line hard held.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.2            Final Half: - 56.4               Margins: - 8m, 2m

Trial 5: - BROMWICH was the slowest into stride but ended up trailing the leader when FORGOT TO REMEMBER galloped at the start. He moved away from the inside on the home turn and was just able to get the better of the pacemaker NORMANDY BELLE on the line. FORGOT TO REMEMBER got away quickly but galloped 50m after the start then was tailed off early before chasing hard to tack on. She caught the field, moved to the outside at the 600m mark and broke stride again on the home turn.

Mile Rate: - 2.7.8            Final Half: - 58.9               Margins: - Nose, 120m
