Ballarat 15/06/19

Trial 1: - The nicely bred filly FOREVER KRONOS (Yield Boko – Miss Warbucks 1.58.2, $148,887) trailed the leader DREAM OVER and came to the outside on the home turn. She ambled to the lead in the final stages and won untouched. DREAM OVER finished second and AUNTY ETHAL (Pegasus Spur - Gordon Idol) was last of the three runners throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.10.2           Final Half: - 64.0               Margins: - 31.0

Trial 2: - MORNINGS settled five back on the markers and last of the five before coming to the outside as the field turned for home. She finished off strongly to down ROMANY BROWN, which raced without cover early before slotting onto the markers three back. He hit the front at the 100m but couldn’t withstand the challenge of MORNINGS in the concluding stages. SHARK LUCK (Four Starzzz Shark – Delwyns Daughter 1.58.2, $11,650) trailed the leader ALLDAYTESS, which raced keenly during the middle stages, and got up to beat that pacer for third. VILLAGE RHYTHM (Village Jolt – Girls Got Rhythm 2.0.9, $34,313) finished fifth after settling four back on the markers.

Mile Rate: - 2.3.5             Final Half: - 58.1               Margins: - 1m, 3m

Trial 3: - JACKIERABBIT led over IDLE TIMES in the final trial, which consisted of only two horses. They remained in the same order until IDLE TIMES made his move turning for home. IDLE TIMES proved to be superior in the sprint up the straight.

Mile Rate: - Not given   Final Half: - Not given   Margins: - 2m

Ararat 15/06/19

Trial 1: - IMPRINCESSGEMMA is a classy filly, which boasts a good strike rate and won the opening trial from GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE, which has shown ability in limited opportunities to date. EXTRA finished third in front of the trotter MAJESTIC PRIDE, which didn’t finish all that far from the winner in a quick time so she obviously performed nicely.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.7             Final Half: - 58.2               Margins: - 2m, 5m

Trial 2: - CAESARION (Julius Caesar – The Cove Grey) is the first and only foal of The Cove Grey and the Michael Bellman trained gelding took out the second trial from the Group 2 winning trotter MOLLYS PURSE. AERODYNE TRUMPS finished in third position in front of the qualifier LEXIES BETTER (Betterthancheddar – Yeronga Silky). COURTESY CHANCERY was last of the five runners.

Mile Rate: - 2.8.3             Final Half: - 62.7               Margins: - 1m, 4m

Trial 3: - JUST STELLA MAGIC (Goodboytruscott – Sharendoo Lass 2.6.8, $70,887) is out of a speedy race mare in Sharendoo Lass and has been performing quite nicely at the trials. She defeated KEEPTHEDREAM, a winner of four races, and the maiden SHOW ME THE MOOLAH was last of the three competitors.

Mile Rate: - 2.9.7             Final Half: - 61.6               Margins: - 10m, 20m

Warragul 15/06/19

Trial 1: - CUZIN LYNDAL (Courage Under Fire – Aunty Daph) settled three back on the markers and gained a run through the centre when ARGH ME HEARTY drifted right up the track on the home turn. He accelerated nicely to win comfortably from the early leader KATACHA MAN (Bettors Delight – Breeze On Bronski 1.56.8, $47,397) with ARGH ME HEARTY (Roll With Joe – Miss Astronomical) in third after leading out, taking cover and moving into the death seat at the 450m. The trotter GATESYS ALLEY was last of the four runners throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.12.0           Final Half: - 59.8               Margins: - 7m, 6m

Trial 2: - MOTA MATE began slowly from the pole position and settled three back on the markers. He made a move at the 1000m and was driven hard to find the lead at the bell. He sustained the run in the final circuit and scored comfortably. HEAVENS SHOWGIRL trailed the leader PRIDDY EASY in the early stages then dropped back to third at the bell when MOTA MATE made his move. She peeled out at the quarter pole and got around PRIDDY EASY before angling in for cover behind MOTA MATE. She came to the outside again in the home straight but didn’t pick up any ground on the winner in the latter stages. PRIDDY EASY finished third in front of PEPPERCORN SAM, which missed the start by 20m then wanted to hang out badly in the front straight on the first occasion.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.0             Final Half: - 59.3               Margins: - 4m, 17m

Trial 3: - CELESTIAL GOSSIP progressed forward and took the lead away from DEFT TOUCH in the early stages of the trial. He rolled along at an even tempo and got nicely clear on the home turn before holding off the challenge of CELESTIAL TREKKER in the latter stages. CELESTIAL TREKKER produced another excellent trial effort and should have won. He settled last of the main group (5 back the markers) and powered home in the final 100m. DEFT TOUCH had his chance after trailing the leader in third but he is a maiden 3yo and the winner is a C2 assessed pacer. SO MUCH BETTOR settled four back on the markers and finished fourth with ROCKINTINGIRA (3 back markers) in fifth. ALL HONOUR raced one out and one back behind ROCKNROLL GOLD and lost momentum when ROCKNROLL GOLD tired noticeably at the 700m. ALL OVER THE STARS was hard on the back of the mobile arm and broke stride in the score up. He was tailed off throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.0.0             Final Half: - 61.3               Margins: - 2m, 3m

Bendigo 16/06/19

Trial 1: - They all stepped away safely from the standing start but BETA HANOVERDAKASH began best and was able to lead all of the way. MAJESTIC DEVIL settled three back on the markers and finished second in front of MAJESTIC TIME, which didn’t use the sprint lane and remained hard on the back of the leader throughout the entire trial. VINCENT KAI (Bacardi Lindy – Subitize 2.9.7, $6,106) settled at the tail of the field and finished fourth in front of TRUMPIT LIL (Tennotrump – Ourlittlelil 2.3.7, $32,944), which yielded ground from the 600m.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.0             Final Half: - Not Given  Margins: - 2m, 6m

Trial 2: - ZEPHIANE showed good gate speed to lead comfortably in the foggy conditions and was never in any danger of defeat. POWDERKEG dropped in behind the leader and tried hard in the straight. COMANDANTE (Majestic Son – Castleton Command 2.7.3, $9,600) emerged out of the fog in a distant third and remained in that position from TIARAS HALL (Angus Hall – Maoris Crown 2.6.2, $57,060), which galloped at the start and tailed off.

Mile Rate: - Not Given  Final Half: - Not Given  Margins: - 3m, 25m

Trial 3: - PAYING YOUR WAY was able to gain a nice trail four back on the markers after working passed THREE SHADOWS turning into the back straight on the first occasion. He produced a big finish to win easily. JOEZAC was last of the six in the single file order and also finished off strongly to pick up second. Both the winner and the second horse are multiple winners and they were taking on mostly maiden 3yo’s so they were entitled to do well. HANCOCKS HERO trailed the leader HEADLINE ACT and used the sprint lane to edge out that pacer to pick up third. LOST FOUR WORDS (3 back markers) finished fifth and THREE SHADOWS (5 back markers) was last of the six.

Mile Rate: - 1.56.0           Final Half: - Not Given  Margins: - 10m, 2m

Trial 4: - ANYWHERE HUGO was the class trotter of the trial and he finished over the top of his rivals from a position three back on the markers to win drawing away. DO BALL trailed the leader DELLSUN throughout and used the sprint lane to snare second. WANDA (Andover Hall – Flash Teena 2.2.1, $45,964) is an unraced 3yo trotter and even though she was last of the four runners throughout, she wasn’t beaten by far behind some quality trotters.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.0             Final Half: - Not Given  Margins: - 12m, 3m

Trial 5: - MEA CULPA made a couple of errors at Kilmore and was stood down to trial. He quickly bounced back with a solid performance to win trial five after he raced in the death seat throughout. DAYLIGHT AT DAWN (Dawn Ofa New Day – Electrical Storm) put in a massive trial performance to finish second. He was last and 20m behind the fifth horse at the bell before producing a big finish out wide on the track to finish second. It was hard to see and analyse the Bendigo trials in the foggy conditions but he appeared to be worth following on that effort. LIBERLAND (Pet Rock – Live Your Life) settled in fifth position (1-2) and worked home reasonably well into third but he was outgunned by DAYLIGHT AT DAWN late. DINO BELLINO (Pet Rock – The Perfect Mona 2.0.3, $4,620) finished fourth after setting the speed and DALLAS CHARLIE (Heston Blue Chip – The Irish Princess) was fifth after trailing DINO BELLINO throughout. QUADRICEP (Down Under Muscles – Two Legs) angled into the one out and one back trail shorty after the start and ended up finishing last of the six runners.

Mile Rate: - 1.59.0           Final Half: - Not Given  Margins: - 10m, 7m

BLACKBOOKER: - Daylight At Dawn

Trial 6: - DECLAN HENRY trailed the leader and came to the outside with 600m remaining. He quickly got the better of the early leader LAWMANS LOVE and raced to a very easy victory. LAWMANS LOVE held down second from FETCH IT, which settled three back on the markers and appeared to be a Quinella chance on the home turn but lost momentum after trotting roughly. VIVIAN KNOX was very slow in the score up and remained last throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.4             Final Half: - Not Given  Margins: - 25m, 15m

Cobram 16/06/19

Trial 1: - RENWAY REACTOR (Auckland Reactor – Aspire To Glory) trailed the leader KISEMBER (Village Jolt – Out Of Rainbow 2.2.3, $6,820) and moved to the outside in the home straight. He sprinted home too well and scored with something in reserve. GET ME OUTTA HERE was last of the three throughout but he wasn’t beaten by far after racing greenly on occasions and he should keep improving with the benefit of experience.

Mile Rate: - 2.12.0           Final Half: - 61.8               Margins: - 1m, 3m

Trial 2: - BENSONFIRE trailed the leader MA KOO LOO FRANKIE until making a dash to run to the lead with 500m remaining. MUCHOS HOMBRES settled three back on the markers and was quick to pursue. He loomed up as a chance on the turn but found BENSONSONFIRE to be too strong late. MADDIELEA (Auckland Reactor – Allison June) made up good ground from last and should have gone close to winning the trial. She ducked along the sprint lane in the latter stages and went to the line under a good hold. MA KOO LOO FRANKIE tired after setting the pace and finished a good distance from the leading trio.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.0             Final Half: - 59.6               Margins: - 5m, head

Trial 3: - MANGOCHILILIME had the perfect run in behind JIMMYLESURF, which ran along at a very solid tempo, and he quickly pounced on the home turn drawing away to win easily. JIMMYLESURF has shown ability at the trials and even though defeated by a good margin, he did roll along early so his performance was sound. ISMAHA was third throughout but couldn’t keep with the leading duo in the strong mid-race tempo. SWISS OPAL (Betterthancheddar – Artistic Opal) is an unraced 3yo and took on some handy performers. She was always last in the field of four.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.0             Final Half: 60.8                  Margins: - 15m, 10m

Maryborough 16/06/19

Trial 1: - SULTAN FELLA began quickly and easily found the lead from ATHLONE and the trotter MARVELLOUS MAX came out nicely but restrained to be last of the three runners. MARVELLOUS MAX made a move half way down the back straight and was getting into second position but broke stride and lost his chance. Considering the final quarter was run in slow time, it would have been interesting how close MARVELLOUS MAX would have gone to winning. SULTAN FELLA was getting tired late after setting a genuine tempo but he was too good for ATHLONE.

Mile Rate: - 1.59.1           Final Half: - 59.6               Margins: - 10m, 30m

Trial 2: - There were only two horses contesting the 2yo trial with BEAT CITY (A Rocknroll Dance – TP’s Girl) being able to lead throughout from LOVEN LAUGHTER (Artistic Fella – Macray Rosewood). LOVEN LAUGHTER was running down BEAT CITY in the latter stages and got within a neck.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.7             Final Half: - 59.6               Margin: - Neck

Trial 3: - ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN showed good gate speed to get across RAGNA THOR and find the lead. He pulled hard mid-race and was trotting very awkwardly in behind for the final 600m but he showed a great amount of ability and went on to win the trial by a comfortable margin. The way he was trotting late, the real test will be when he is placed under pressure. WHIRILY ROLLS (Roll With Joe – Formalize) settled down in third position and chased hard in the final 400m to run second. RAGNA THOR gained a nice trail behind the leader and began to yield ground from the 450m. KYVALLEY SHERRIF (Trixton – Kyvalley Café) was slow to begin and was trotting roughly before eventually rolling into a gallop. KALMLY KELLY was also slow to begin and settled in behind KYVALLEY SHERRIF but she was able to get around him when he broke stride and she beat him comfortably to the line.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.9             Final Half: - 61.6               Margins: - 15m,30m

Trial 4: - SPEEDWAY QUEEN pushed forward to find the lead and was never under any pressure throughout. She raced away to win by a healthy margin. PIESRIDINGSHOTGUN (Danny Bouchea – Biggies 2.7.1, $28,806) trailed the leader throughout and just held down second. KYVALLEY SURFRIDER was three back on the markers and was trotting roughly on the home turn. He really hit the line hard once he was able to balance up in the home straight. KYVALLEY SURFERGIRL (Andover Hall – Kyvalley Kitty) was last of the four competitive horses throughout. DYNAMIC DIESEL (Im Stately – Hilltown Ashley) galloped wildly for the first 600m and was retired from the trial.

Mile Rate: - 2.8.7             Final Half: - 62.7               Margins: - 10m, head

Trial 5: - GOTONEBETTOR began best and was the first to the markers before taking cover behind SEEMEPEARLYWHITES. SEEMEPEARLYWHITES was in control from that point and went on to win the trial untouched by 10m. GOTONEBETTOR finished second with ALL WHITEY THEN coming from three back on the markers at the bell to finish in third. ALL WHITEY THEN did want to turn his head and hang in on several occasions in the final lap. THE GIRLS GOTFLAIR settled four back on the markers and finished fourth. VALLA REINE settled three back on the markers in the first circuit but began yielding ground with just over a lap remaining and was retired from the trial.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.7             Final Half: - 60.0               Margins: - 10m,3m

Trial 6: - QUAKE PROOF (Quaker Jet – Adellas Dash 2.3.0, $102,626) was aided by three horses galloping but he does appear to stride out nicely and has a promising future. He worked to the front shortly after the start and blitzed his rivals in the run to the judge. DYNAMIC DIESEL did everything right when going around for the second time and finished second. He stepped away in third position but ended up trailing the leader when KYVALLEY COPYCAT (Kyvalley Blur – Kyvalley Lily) galloped at the 1600m. KYVALLEY CLAIRE (Muscle Hill – Cashel Dagha) also made a mistake in the first circuit and SHAKARA (Wind Cries Maori – Go Glory 2.3.2, $32,149) galloped at the start. KYVALLEY CLAIRE did pick up some ground to finish third in front of KYVALLEY COPYCAT and SHAKARA.

Mile Rate: - 2.16.3           Final Half: - 64.4               Margins: - 35m, 25m

Trial 7: - The New South Wales Derby winner XEBEC looked very good as he continues his preparation for the Victoria Derby. He trailed the leader ANGUSTINE and made his move in the back straight on the final occasion. He quickly dashed to the front and established a huge winning margin. The backmarker SOHO LEDGER settled behind XEBEC and was able to work passed ANGUSTINE in the latter stages but was beaten by a long way.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.1             Final Half: - 59.0               Margins: - 60m, 10m

Tabcorp Park, Melton 17/06/19

Trial 1: - LETHAL LOVER (Pet Rock – Lethal Kiss 2.4.3, $29,108) was about two metres behind BRONSKI MOMENT, which came out of the gate hard, but was able to burrow through and hold the lead. She was challenged hard by PUNT FOR PLEASURE in the back straight but was able to kick away on the home turn and win by a large margin. PROMISE ME HEAVEN (Four Starzzz Shark – Donna Kelly 2.1.2, $26,416) produced a massive run for second. He galloped wildly at the start and gave away approximately 100m. He continued to make ground on the pack and was able to zip passed firstly BRONSKI MOMENT (Major Bronski – Mythical Rainbow) then PUNT FOR PLEASURE in the latter stages. PUNT FOR PLEASURE was three back on the markers before moving into the breeze at the 700m and applying pressure. BRONSKI MOMENT raced keenly in the early stages and eventually was able to angle in behind the leader but he yielded ground from the 500m.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.3             Final Half: - 59.87             Margins: - 18m, 17m

BLACKBOOKER: - Promise Me Heaven

Trial 2: - DON’T HOLD BACK bounced back with a big trial victory after his disappointing first up performance at Melton on June 08. He trailed the leader before allowing CALL HER JULIE in front of him at the 1300m. When he came to the outside, he drifted out to about five horses wide but he produced a sparkling finish to win comfortably. JILLIBY MADONNA settled last of the five and finished off strongly for an eye-catching trial second. It was a good run in preparation for the Super Series. EGODAN led and set up a genuine speed. He tired late but held down third in front of CAPTAIN BRONZIE, which settled four back on the markers. CALL HER JULIE raced without cover in a strong early tempo behind angling in behind the leader. The early effort took a toll and she dropped out from the 500m.

Mile Rate: - 1.57.0           Final Half: - 56.92             Margins: - 8m, 8m

LIKE A WILDFIRE followed FRIENDS throughout and picked up ground in the latter stages to go down narrowly. OURBEACHSOMEWHERE followed the leader throughout and drove through for third. FIREINTHEHOLE set the speed and zipped clear on the home but was overhauled in the final 50m. PIRATE BAY was an eye-catching trial performance. He galloped at the 1600m and lost approximately 30m. He tacked onto the group and was finding the line well without really being pushed. HARRYS FLIGHT was caught without cover early and was struggling to be restrained but was able to find the markers when PIRATE BAY broke stride.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.8             Final Half: - 58.86             Margins: - Neck, 7.5m

Trial 4: - SHADOWMAN began quickly and took cover behind RADICAL MAJOR to end up behind the leader. Trial 5: - HEZA BROMAC showed very good gate speed to lead early then took cover behind BOU CHARD at the 1600m. He moved to the outside on the home turn and sprinted quickly to win well. YANKEE ROLLER settled three back on the markers and was doing his best work late to pick up second. BOU CHARD was in fourth position in the early stages but she wanted to race very fiercely and was sent forward to find the lead. She refused to settle and under the circumstances, she did a good job to finish third. TIN ROOF RAIDER settled four back on the inside and lost the back of YANKEE ROLLER approaching the home corner but he did rally late. GOZO LIGHTING was last of the five runners throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.0.3             Final Half: - 56.42             Margins: - 8m, 5m

Trial 6: - I AM PEGASUS began quickly to lead and was unchallenged throughout the middle stages. She fleetingly looked in danger of defeat at the 100m but she found sufficient to hold BULLION LADY at bay. BULLION LADY was a good trial effort. She was last of the seven with the field being in single file, before she moved into the death seat at the 800m and sustained a long run. CELTIC ROSE was three back on the markers and was able to fill third position via the sprint lane. ORLANDOS PRINCESS was an eye-catching fourth. She was left without cover early before angling onto the markers (4th). She finished off nicely in the final 100m. HES THEMIGHTYSPIN was fifth on the markers throughout and finished ahead of FLING ABOUT (trailed leader) with the French bred trotter FILLE DUN SOIR (Texas Charm – Very Pretty Girl) (6 back markers) was last of the seven.

GATESYS GIFT was five back on the markers before moving into the death seat in the back straight on the final occasion. He battled on well for third in front of RUM JUNCTION (Bacardi Lindy – Virginiaconnection 2.9.8, $4,770), which settled in third position. RAGNA THOR tried to lead early but trotted very roughly and had to be restrained. He angled in behind the leader but yielded ground from the 300m. INDEFENSIBLE (Armbro Variable – Mental Power 2.4.7, $79,731) was without cover early before angling onto the markers in fourth at the 1700m. IS THAT A BID started off the second line and was last of the five runners around the first turn. He followed ANDOVER SUN forward and was able to strike the lead in the home straight but he couldn’t withstand ANDOVER SUN’s big finale. MAJESTIC JEWEL was very keen at the start of the race and came out of the gate very fast to lead comfortably. He was challenged by DARING ANGEL from the 900m and ended up finishing third. DARING ANGEL was racing fiercely and came away from the inside at the bell to challenge the leader. She tired late and finished fourth. CAABELLO was three back on the markers throughout and finished third in front of ALDEBARAN LEROY (Revenue – Bromac Aldebaran), which trailed the leader throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.4             Final Half: - 60.93             Margins: - 18m, 17m

Trial 2: - The three horses all stepped away safely from the standing start with DARK SECRET trotting to the lead then taking cover behind FATOUCHE. FATOUCHE travelled strongly throughout and was getting pretty keen with a lap to run. She went to the line easily to win the trial untouched. MIRANDA MAID settled last of the three and followed the markers throughout. She appeared to be a winning chance briefly at the 150m but FATOUCHE had too much petrol left in the tank. DARK SECRET was travelling well on the leaders back but broke stride when he was brought to the outside on the home turn. He did pick up a lot of ground in the final 50m.

Trial 3: - PROSECCO BOY ended up being five back on the markers after being shuffled towards the rear of the field mid-race. He hooked to the outside from last approaching the home turn and produced a big sprint to win the trial nicely. CONCORDE DAWN has shown some improvement at her past couple of trial performances and came from three back on the markers to work into second position. JULIACA progressed forward out wide on the track and worked to the front at the 1500m. She was collared by PROSECCO BOY as the field entered the home straight but she kicked on for third. WESTERN CRISIS (Western Ideal – Christa 1.58.3, $28,897) was left stranded without cover for the majority of the journey and finished fourth in front of AMARANDA (4 back markers). THREE ANDIES (Grinfromeartoear – Orphan Greek) pushed forward to find the front then took cover behind JULIACA. He lost ground from the home turn and only beat THREE LEAF CLOVER (1-1) to the line.

Trial 4: - BACARDI WOOD worked to the lead then took cover behind VINDICATING after relenting to the mid-race pressure. He came to the outside approaching the home turn and drew to the lead before holding off all of the challenges in the straight. IMPERIAL COUNTESS began safely but galloped 50m after the start. She was last of the main group and about 50m behind the leader at the bell before storming home for an eye-catching second. MISS TIPSY was five back on the markers and was saved up for one last run at the leaders. She finished strongly for a close third. The juvenile trotter KRAZE taking on the older horses put in a big trial performance again. He trailed the leader before galloping and losing 30m with a lap and a half remaining. He produced a big sprint from the 400m to loom alongside BACARDI WOOD in the home straight before peaking a little in the latter stages. ITSARAPT is another horse that performed particularly well. He galloped at the start and lost a lot of ground then tacked on before galloping again. He was about 100m behind the leader with a lap remaining and finished fifth! VINDICATING was going to lead early but was another to have made an error in the trial. He galloped and swung deep on the track before resetting and chased after the leaders. He ran to the front mid-race but the effort took a toll and he tired late. WATTS UP SKYE was four back on the markers throughout and finished seventh in front of ITS GAZADANGERWOOD (3 back markers), which trotter roughly on occasions.

Mile Rate: - 2.9.5             Final Half: - 64.3               Margins: - Neck, 1m

Trial 5: - WILLEM settled three back on the markers before making a quick dash to find the lead at the 1500m. He dashed well clear on the home turn and scored easily. The trotter LUNCHWITHARTHUR performed in terrific fashion. He settled four back on the markers and motored through for second, seemingly with something in reserve. HAYJOSHANDCO ended up being three back on the markers and got the better of LETSROCKLETSROLL, which showed good gate speed to lead before taking cover. ALDBEBARAN CRESCENT galloped at the start but didn’t lose much ground and settled down last. He continued to lose ground mid-race and finished tailed off.
