A supremely bred trotter from the Chris Lang yard is one to follow according to Craig Rail, who has marked a son of Orlando Vici as a new Blackbook entry after his impressive trial at Tabcorp Park Melton this week.

Ollivici is out of Belle Galleon, which makes him a half-brother to the brilliant million-dollar winner Stent, as well as top squaregaiters Belles Son, My Arya and Izmok.

He debuts at Cranbourne on Sunday alongside fellow new Blackbook addition Captain Dan from the Russell Jack stable.

The other two Blackbook entries are Just As Well (Luke Tabone) and Star Celebrity (Emma Stewart).

SHEPPARTON 08/07/21

Trial 1: - BARNABY (Panspacificflight – Art For Artsplace) began brilliantly to find the lead and ran along at a genuine tempo. He won in handy time and produced a big performance considering he is yet to face the starter and second was the Metropolitan class pacer SOFALA (National Rating 81). SOFALA settled four back on the inside, moved into a trailing position at the 1100m (1-2), pulled hard and ran home well late so there was nothing wrong with his performance. CHANGEOVER GIRL was three back on the markers, got held up for a run at a vital stage and ran home well through the middle late for a handy third. That was a good hit-out for her first up performance at Echuca on Thursday, where she finished second after trailing the leader and using the sprint lane. THE LONGEST DAY settled down last and moved up without cover at the 1300m. She battled on quite well for fourth with LASTING BOND being fifth after trailing the leader throughout. DIAMOND ACE began quickly but was left without cover, restrained to be five back on the markers then moved into the one out and one back trail at the 1100m. He was the last one to complete the course.

INCLEMENT (Auckland Reactor – Royal Jinx 2.0.9, $5,588) was four back on the markers and was able to work into third position ahead of PRECIOUS TELL (Tell All – Precious Image 2.1.4, $35,643), which followed behind her throughout. CHEROKEE JAC (American Ideal – Little Red Cloud 1.52.0, $170,042) trailed the leader early and was three back on the inside when SHEZ ELITE took cover. He was under pressure at the 400m and eased out three carts wide to allow a few others to gain a run on his inside on the home turn. LONGASULOVEME was three back on the markers, quickly dashed around to find the lead at the 1600m and yielded ground from the home turn. She beat home BONNY TAYLAH, which dropped back to last early and remained in that position for the duration.

Trial 4: - CAPTAIN DAN began very quickly to find the lead, ran along at a genuine tempo and dashed away to win impressively by 40m. It was a terrific display and he has a National Rating of 50 so he can be well placed when he next steps out onto the track. He is drawn on the pole position at Cranbourne on Sunday and appears to be very hard to beat. THEROCKGOD was tightened for room at the start and settled down in last position. He gained a one out and one back trail at the 800m and came out three horses wide from the 400m so it was a good performance to finish second. MY LUCKY ROCK (Pet Rock – Rosetta Lombo) was five back on the inside and finished on quite well for third position. He makes his debut at Maryborough on Monday. SYZATE began quickly and trailed the leader but yielded ground over the latter stages. Trial 5: - LEXINGTON QUEEN began quickly and was able to amble to the lead. She was clearly the class runner of the trial and ran away from her rivals to score convincingly. She was trotting roughly when allowed to stride over the final stages but she never appeared to be in any danger of defeat. She failed to beat a runner to the line at Echuca on Thursday. MY JERRY (Bacardi Lindy – Spring Fly 2.5.1, $25,456) trailed the leader throughout and finished a distant second. THE RED WARRIOR was slow away and settled a clear last early. CINKARI trailed the leader and moved away from the inside on the home turn but broke stride and lost his chance. He did finish off nicely once he got back trotting but the time was very slow. TRANQUIL BILL (Danny Bouchea – Aldebaran Stiltz 2.7.9, $9,074) was three back on the inside and broke stride at the 1400m hence he finished tailed off.

CHERRY PICKER (Great Success – Cherry Sweet 2.7.7, $21,900) is an unraced trotter for trainer Scott Garbutt and finished second ahead of TELEPHONE TILLY and EMU BOB. TOTALLY SHATTERED failed to complete the course.

FORGET THE PRICE TAG is a classy trotter from New Zealand, which has recently joined trainer Joe Pace. Trial 5: - OUR SAFARI SUN has been performing extremely well at the trials since converting into the trotting ranks but he is yet to connect at the races. He recorded a very solid mile rate of 2.1.3 and scored by a large margin so it wouldn’t surprise to see him winning a race in the near future. He is racing at Cranbourne on Sunday and is capable of improving on his numerical form. CAPTAIN GRAYWOOD hasn’t raced since June 2020 and finished in second position ahead of ZAMBA DEVILLE, which has had numerous trials recently. GENTLEMAN SIR was last of the four runners to complete the course.

SEE YOU THERE hasn’t raced this year and met two handy ones so her effort to finish in third position was sound. DEADLY ERROR finished fourth ahead of the qualifier WHY NOT DREAM (Shadow Play – Why Comment), which met a very handy trial field. MIA RAGAZZA makes her Australian debut at Melton tonight and SEE YOU THERE is scheduled to race at Maryborough on Monday.

MILDURA 11/07/21

Trial 1: - OLD TANNER BURN was out three horses wide early, angled onto the markers in third, moved up without cover at the 1300m and outstayed his rivals for a strong victory. He is competing at Mildura this afternoon and starts from a poor draw but he performed well enough in the trial to suggest he can be competitive. BEARTASTIC WRITER attempted to lead throughout and set up a genuine tempo. He boxed on well for second and ran an eye-catching race after breaking stride at the 600m at Mildura last week so he appears to be one of the leading chances in his race this afternoon.
