SHEPPARTON 05/11/20

Trial 1: - VINTAGE BLU (Betterthancheddar – Soaring Franco) trailed the leader early, ended up being three back on the markers and came wide into the straight when he motored home to impressively win the opening trial. FOURSTAR FLYER (Four Starzzz Shark – Modern Society 2.2.2, $29,969) was four back on the markers early, moved into the death seat at the 1700m mark and worked to the front shortly afterwards. He finished second with DELIGHTFUL ANNA being third after leading out, taking a trail and coming to the outside on the home turn. OUTLOOK ended up being four back on the markers mid-race, moved out three horses wide on the home turn and battled into fourth. The qualifiers DOROTHYS RIVER (Blissfull Hall – River on Money 1.59.1, $2,992) and SO SHE SAID (Western Terror – Bold Comment Lombo) finished fifth and sixth respectively. DOROTHYS RIVER picked up ground from seventh on the markers and SO SHE SAID was restrained to be in last position early. MUCHOS HOMBRES settled fifth on the markers and beat home SASSKI (Major Bronski – Sass And Bling) (6 back markers), which trailed him throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.3            Final Half: - 59.2               Margins: - 3m, 1m

BLACKBOOKER: - Vintage Blu

Trial 2: - ENCRYPTION settled fourth on the markers and was giving the leader FEELING ENERJETIC a big start when he angled out three horses wide at the 300m mark. He produced a big finish to win clearly and considering the third placed FOREST FORCE came out and won at Kilmore a few days later, he might pick up a race in the near future, despite being safely held in his two starts to date. FEELING ENERJETIC began well but was left without cover and pushed forward to find the lead in the back straight on the first occasion. He kicked well clear at the quarter pole but was getting leg weary late and was gunned down in the final 50m. FOREST FORCE led out, took a trail behind FEELING ENERJETIC and finished a distant third. AWAYOVERNIGHT trailed the leader and was shuffled to three back on the markers before moving away from the inside at the 300m mark. He finished fourth ahead of DRIFFING, which was five back on the markers throughout and KRANSKI (Major Bronski – U R Whatu Eat 1.58.6, $40,173) settled in last and remained in that position for the duration.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.1            Final Half: - 61.2               Margins: - 5m, 15m

Trail 3: - JITTERBUG ARDEN (A Rocknroll Dance – Fantastic Arden 2.0.3, $13,975) settled five back on the markers, moved up without cover from the 400m mark and got up to score on the line. HELENA (Art Major – Birds Can Sing USA 1.57.7, $6,375) settled three back on the inside, used the sprint lane and ran home well late to miss out narrowly. CINQUE AMICI was last of the seven in the early stages, came out three horses wide on the turn and finished off well for third. He has drawn on the pole position at Mildura this evening and has the ability to show up prominently. HERITAGE LADY (Major Bronski – Heirloom Angel 2.3.4, $8,050) began quickly to lead and was run down late. LIEUTENANT JACK (Art Major – Localize) settled six back on the markers, was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished fifth ahead of MACDYMOND (Mach Three – Dymondee 1.58.1, $110,294) (trailed leader) and the locally trained PEDRO (4 back markers) was the last one to cross the line.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.4            Final Half: - 61.5               Margins: - Head, Neck

Trial 4: - IMA DESTROYER began very quickly to find the front, backed off the speed during the middle stages and had a good kick left in the run to the finish. She held off the late challenge of MEADOWVALLEY LOVER, which settled three back on the markers and moved to the outside with 300m remaining. SWEET ON YOU settled four back on the inside, came to the outside with just 150m remaining and was never extended at any stage, jogging down to the line to finish in third. All three horses contested a heat of the Breeders Crown on Thursday with MEADOWVALLEY LOVER faring the best with her fifth behind Tipsy Turvy. WATCH AND ACT began well and was able to gain a lovely position behind the leader. He battled on fairly well for fourth with MIELICKI being in fifth after settling six back on the markers, coming to the outside at the quarter pole, racing roughly and eventually rolling into a gallop. BLACK CAT CLAW (5 back markers) and LOVE GUN (broke at the start, losing 60m) were sixth and seventh respectively.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.7            Final Half: - 60.7               Margins: - 2m, 10m

Trial 5: - YARRAWONGA LASSIE settled fifth on the markers, moved into the running lane at the 600m (1-2) and produced a big finish to upstage the National Ratings 67 assessed pacer HEREHECOMES to win impressively. She looms as a big chance despite a poor barrier draw at Kilmore this afternoon. HEREHECOMES settled in third, had a crack for the lead in the early stages and eventually found it with 1600m remaining. He set up a genuine tempo and was gunned down late. LETS DIG IT settled four back on the markers, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 600m mark and finished in third position. He backed up to win easily at Shepparton on Thursday night, which adds further merit to the performance of YARRAWONGA LASSIE. JILLIBY LOLLIE picked up some ground from six back on the markers and finished fourth ahead of THE PAUA DIVER, which led out, copped some pressure and eventually took a trail with 1400m to travel. She raced very greenly in the run into the back straight on the final occasion. TIME TO REACT began quickly to trail the leader early, was shuffled back to third and moved into the death seat from the 600m mark. He finished sixth with UBETCHA finishing last of the seven runners after galloping early and losing approximately 60m.

Mile Rate: - 1.58.9          Final Half: - 60.4               Margins: - 4m, 10m

BLACKBOOKER: - Yarrawonga Lassie

Trial 6: - PARTYTIME bounced away quickly from the standing start and was a joint leader with BELLA CONTESSA before pushing forward to find the markers around the first corner. She enjoyed a good run in the lead and was able to kick on too well in the straight but she did want to shift out under pressure. BELLA CONTESSA took the trail behind PARTYTIME early and came to the outside turning for home. She was taken out to the middle of the track by the winner but was able to pick up a little bit of ground late. FRATELLINO settled fifth on the inside, moved into the one out and one back trail with 500m remaining and came out three horses wide on the home turn. He finished on well for third and was never fully extended. He backs up against a handy field at Charlton on Monday. CHRISTMAS BABE settled four back on the inside, moved into the death seat in the back straight on the final occasion and battled away for fourth in front of LUCKY SERINA, which settled in third but was 30m away from the leading duo early so she had the task of carting the main group forward mid-race. SO AWESOME broke stride at the start and was sixth throughout and MYNAMESGRAHAM was tailed off for the entire journey after a poor beginning.

Mile Rate: - 2.10.4          Final Half: - 62.3               Margins: - 2m, 15m

Trial 7: - JANNALI (Sunshine Beach – Vista Bella 1.57.9, $110,021) settled down in fourth position, wanted to hang out badly at the 600m and came out wide on the home turn when she dashed home to win easily over HOLSTEIN, which settled three back on the markers and moved into the death seat in the back straight on the final occasion. BINNO MAJOR (Art Major – Saved A Corka 1.59.1, $130,397) began quickly to lead and finished third ahead of AMBER ALERT, which trailed and used the sprint lane. AJAYS RACER (P B Bullville – Globes Mistake 2.3.2, $67,450) broke stride at the start and was tailed off for the remainder of the trial.

Mile Rate: - 2.3.5            Final Half: - 60.9               Margins: - 8m, 1m

CRANBOURNE 07/11/20

Trial 1: - TROUBLE GIERO trailed the leader SOVEREIGN TIGER in a field of two runners in the opening trial and was able to get the better of the juvenile trotter over the final stages. He came to the outside with 700m remaining, steered a wide course and was out four horses wide for the final 300m before working home too well in the final 100m.

Mile Rate: - 2.10.9          Final Half: - 61.3               Margin: 3m

Trial 2: - POST GAME (Sportswriter – Samantha Sparkle 1.56.8, $70,815) settled three back on the inside, moved up without cover with 700m remaining and was able to edge past the early leader ILLAWONG DANNY (Rock N Roll Heaven – Breenys Lady 2.3.3, $6,120) in the run to the finish. ILLAWONG DANNY kicked back quite well when challenged in the straight and CLASSY COUNTESS finished third after trailing the leader and using the sprint lane. MAMMA KASS (Rock N Roll Heaven – Star Chaser (2.1.1, $27,883) raced greenly in the score up and settled 20m behind the pack and was able to tack onto the group at the 1600m but he remained last of the four runners throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.8.4            Final Half: - 59.8               Margins: - 2m, 7m

Trial 3: - VALLANI MAGIC trailed the leader TYABB WONDER throughout and sprinted home too well after coming to the outside turning for home. ACES JETT settled last of the three runners, appeared to be under extreme pressure from the bell and dropped back 10m but came again in the straight to pick up second via the passing lane. TYABB WONDER led comfortably and appeared to be coasting throughout but she found little when the pressure went on over the concluding stages.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.1            Final Half: - 60.1               Margins: - 4m, 2m

Trial 4: - A LIL BETTOR (Bettors Delight – Donna Rosso) trailed the leader ONE MANS TRASH and came to the outside with 600m remaining. She was driven along a long way from home but was able to grind out a victory in the straight. ONE MANS TRASH did appear to be travelling better than the winner on the home turn but peaked on his run late and was beaten on the line. MY SUPERANNUATION settled down in third position, started a move in the back straight on the final occasion but angled onto the markers to trail the leader when A LIL BETTOR popped away from the inside in front of her. She used the sprint lane over the concluding stages and finished third. MYSTIC CASTLE was last of the four runners throughout.

Mile Rate: - Not Given   Final Half: - Not Given    Margins: - Neck, 3m (approximately)

MARYBOROUGH 08/11/20

Trial 1: - MY SHADY MATE (Shadyshark Hanover – Tarzar Jah) was three back on the markers early, moved up without cover at the 500m and worked home best to win by a narrow margin. AUSSIEPRIDE pushed forward at the start and was able to dash across to the markers to find the lead going around the first bend. He set up a reasonable tempo and fought on strongly in the straight. He has drawn on the pole position in the last race at Charlton on Monday. SHARKBITE ALTO led out, took a trail behind AUSSIEPRIDE and never peeled to the outside at any stage. POWER PASS, which trailed SHARKBITE ALTO throughout also failed to make a move and remained directly behind that pacer in the run home without being extended at any stage.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.7            Final Half: - 59.8               Margins: - 1m, 2m

Trial 2: - SOLESSEO MATUCA (A Rocknroll Dance – Princess Dilinger 1.58.2, $65,263) is a yearling and is out of a handy race mare Princess Dilinger, which liked to get out and run. He defeated the two 2yo pacers and recorded handy time so it was a promising performance. He trailed the leader, moved away from the inside at the 500m and proved too strong at the end. ABBIE LINCOLN tried to lead throughout and was run down over the concluding stages with ALSDREAM being last of the three runners throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.9            Final Half: - 58.1               Margins: - 2m, 4m

Trial 3: - CENTRAL OTAGO began safely and trailed the leader throughout. He came to the outside with 300m remaining and dashed away to win easily, seemingly with plenty up his sleeve. He ran a reasonable race when sixth in a heat of the Breeders Crown on Thursday. PARIS FAITH showed very good gate speed to draw across and find the lead shortly after the start. She couldn’t repel the challenge of CENTRAL OTAGO late but she beat her other two rivals comfortably. RIOTERRA was three back on the markers and started to lose a bit of ground with a half mile remaining. He finished third ahead of the qualifier VINEESHA LYN (Fling It – Kirsly Kept $12,925), which was slow to begin, missed the start by approximately 20m and remained last of the four runners throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.1            Final Half: - 61.0               Margins: - 10m, 15m

Trial 4: - MANBAR PRINCESS (Betterthancheddar – Korobeit Princess 2.2.7, $13,165) settled three back on the markers and moved to the outside with 500m remaining. She was able to grind out a victory in the straight, claiming the early leader ASHFORD SECRET right on the line. DANCEFORME trailed the leader and went back to the sprint lane but she raced very roughly when she was angling towards the inside. Once she balanced up, she worked through nicely so she would have won had she not raced greenly early in the straight. ROCKYBOMBA was last of the four runners throughout but wasn’t beaten by far at the end.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.0            Final Half: - 60.5               Margins: - ½ head, ½ head

Trial 5: - DANCE CRAZE won in the trial of two open class trotters but it wasn’t a hard task. She trailed the leader NEPHEW OF SONOKO, came to the outside in the back straight and brushed on past NEPHEW OF SONOKO approaching the home turn. NEPHEW OF SONOKO wasn’t asked to quicken at any stage and was just happy to lob along at his own tempo, leaving DANCE CRAZE to waltz away with the prize.

Mile Rate: - 2.9.0            Final Half: - 59.3               Margin: - 40m

Trial 6: - LADY LAGERTHA dropped out to be last of the four runners early, moved into the one out and one back trail at the half mile marker and was out four horses wide on the home turn. She was able to run home strongly to get the prize and considering she has the lowest National Rating of the runners in trial six, it was a tidy performance. FOOLISH PLEASURE trailed the leader, moved to the outside on the home turn and finished off well but wasn’t as fast as LADY LAGERTHA at the end. TELL NOBODY tried to lead all of the way and finished third with PERSPECTIVE being the last one across the line after being three back on the markers and without cover from the 800m before hanging out on the home turn.

Mile Rate: - 2.3.1            Final Half: - 58.4               Margins: - Head, 3m

Trial 7: - SAINT CALDER pushed forward at the start and was without cover early before finding the lead at the 1800m. He set up a slow tempo but looked very strong on the line and won nicely from IMAMAORIJET, which settled in the running lane (1-2 then 1-1), got in behind the leader at the 700m mark and appeared to have her chance. MAGICOOL was slow to begin and was 20m behind the pack around the first corner. He settled last on the markers, was able to miss the trouble in the back straight and was in third for the remainder of the trip, using the sprint lane over the concluding stages. JORDANS MATE settled three back on the inside but was checked with 700m remaining and lost his opportunity. He backed up to finish second at big odds on Thursday. IMA LOUIE TOUIE (Louie Louie Louie – Feng Shui 2.9.4, $10,480) raced without cover throughout and beat home SMART CHA CHA (Feng Shuis Image – McKillop 2.5.7, $7,395), which trailed the leader but broke stride at the 700m.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.2            Final Half: - 59.5               Margins: - 2m, 2m

Trial 8: - ROYAL APOLLO began quickly to find the lead, took a trail at the 1700m and moved to the outside at the 600m. He quickly rolled to the top in the back straight on the final occasion and was able to score with something in reserve. HUEY TREVOR (Auckland Reactor – Eastern Art) settled fifth on the inside, moved away from the markers at the half mile marker, and gained a trail behind ROYAL APOLLO. He was trying to sneak through along the sprint lane in the final stages but ROYAL APOLLO held him safely at bay. ROUGH CUT trailed the leader, was shuffled to three back on the markers and finished a distant third ahead of SHESMYBABY, which settled last of the six runners. SUMMERHILL was aggressively driven early and moved forward to claim the lead from ROYAL APOLLO in the back straight on the first occasion. He ran along at a solid tempo but was overtaken with 500m remaining. VISION AND COURAGE settled four back on the markers and was the last of the six runners to complete the course.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.2            Final Half: - 58.7               Margins: - 2m, 15m

Trial 9: - The three runners all stepped away nicely from the standing start. CHARLIE WALKER was the slowest to begin but he remained away from the markers and edged forward in the early stages. He found the lead with 1500m remaining and set up a slow tempo before going to the line to win by a narrow margin but without being pushed at any stage. DI LI trailed the leader before CHARLIE WALKER got to the front and was relegated to last position. She came out three horses wide on the home corner and ran home well for a close second. BEWARE THE FURY led out, took a trail and came to the outside on the home turn. She finished last but was beaten by less than a length on the line.

Mile Rate: - 2.10.2          Final Half: - 61.8               Margins: - 1m, 1m

MILDURA 08/11/20

Trial 1: - SOAR is a smart juvenile pacer and was able to lead all of the way in the opening trial. INDIANAS WISH (Sir Lincoln (Lincoln Royal) – Braeview Babe 2.0.2, $10,988) did a very good job to finish in second position. She did gain the one out and one back trail but she sprinted sharply from the 600m and finished five metres behind SOAR, beating the remainder of the field by a good margin. She makes her debut at Mildura tonight from an awkward draw but she showed enough ability in the trial to suggest she will go well. MUSTANG MAX trailed the leader early and ended up being three back on the inside. He finished a distant third ahead of ARTISTICBUTNAUGHTY, which raced without cover throughout. RUBY REACTOR (Auckland Reactor – Larilla Lace 2.3.2, $13,585) settled seventh on the markers and followed inside runs all of the way to finish fifth ahead of WROXTONS FAREWELL, which began quickly but couldn’t lead and ended up angling in behind SOAR at the 1300m mark. MEXICAN STANDOFF (Changeover – Cindy Shiraz) was 20m behind the pack going around the first corner and never recovered, remaining last of the seven runners throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.4            Final Half: - 61.0               Margins: - 5m, 15m

Trial 2: - DEEKAYS MAJOR is a former New South Wales pacer, which boasts handy credentials across the Border but got it all wrong at his Mildura debut. He performed very nicely to win his trial comfortably after he trailed the leader, angled out three horses wide at the quarter pole and jogged to victory. He can run a good race at Mildura tonight on that trial performance. VIEIRA began quickly but couldn’t lead and was forced to race without cover throughout. He finished second ahead of the early leader SYSTAMATIC. MOONLIGHT JACK gained a one out and one back trail but was under pressure 700m from home and finished a distant fourth. MAXWELL JOHN broke stride in the score up and was tailed off throughout.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.7            Final Half: - 59.8               Margins: - 10m, 10m

Trial 3: - BAYONET SOLDIER settled three back on the inside, came out three horses wide from the 400m and sprinted sharply to get the prize over MACH HU, which trailed the leader but zipped around to find the front with two laps remaining. HES A MODERN BOY led out then took a trail and finished third with OHOKA DIESEL being the last horse to cross the line after being without cover for the majority of the journey.

Mile Rate: - 2.0.5            Final Half: - 61.6               Margins: - 3m, 15m

MOOROOPNA 08/11/20

TERANG 08/11/20

TRIAL 1: - CELTIC CASH has been impressive in several trial performances recently and was able to post another easy trial victory by trailing the leader, coming to the outside at the 300m mark and jogging to the line. ICICLE stepped away quickly from the standing start to find the lead and set up a slow speed. He beat his other two rivals by a large margin but he didn’t have the speed to match CELTIC CASH over the final stages. ALLWATFUNJINGLES was three back on the markers throughout and finished in third position ahead of KING JEWELIEN (Angus Hall – Black Curlew 2.7.3, $7,805), which was last of the four runners for the entire trip.

Mile Rate: - 2.7.1            Final Half: - 60.7               Margins: - 8m, 25m

Trial 2: - GOODWOOD (American Ideal – Four Sisters 1.59.9, $54,916) began quickly to lead then took a trail shortly afterwards. He gained an inside run with 500m remaining, dashed through to hit the front before the home turn and jogged home to win with plenty in reserve. MAGIC MASTERPIECE pushed forward to race without cover early, found the front at the 1300m mark then set up a slow speed. He hung out badly when leaving the backstraight, presenting GOODWOOD with the winning run and had to be content with a second placing. BETTORBEWRIGHT (Bettors Delight – Illbewright 1.59.8, $7,800) settled four back on the markers, moved through to trail the leader on the home turn and finished in third position with KING JAMES running in last of the four runners. He was third early, came to the outside at the quarter pole and ended up being three horses wide approaching the home turn.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.3            Final Half: - 61.5               Margins: - 4m, 2m

Trial 3: - REACTOR FACTOR continued his good trial form with a win over ROLLINJACKSRAINBOW. He settled down in third position, moved up without cover with 600m remaining and was able to chase down ROLLINJACKSRAINBOW, which tried to lead throughout but wanted to hang out in the latter stages. LAVAUGHN settled four back on the markers and finished in third ahead of the qualifier CLASSACT (Wally Walton – Lotsaclass 1.57.9, $20,543), which took on a reasonable field, settled down last of the five runners and didn’t do a bad job in fourth. THE BIG SHOW trailed the leader and dropped out to finish at the tail of the field.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.5            Final Half: - 57.8               Margins: - Head, 6m

Trial 4: - LAMANDIER settled three back on the markers, moved through to trail the leader at the 600m mark and wanted to race keenly but had a big kick left in the run to the finish and was able to dash through to win comfortably. NOTNEGOTIABLE (Badlands Hanover – Total Credits) showed ability in second position. He was without cover early and kept the pressure on before eventually finding the lead at the bell. He set up a reasonable tempo and beat the remainder of the field by a large margin. BRONTES DELIGHT (Bettors Delight – Bronte Jones 2.0.6, $3,825) settled down last of the five runners and ran into a distant third in front of ANGEL I AM, which led out, copped some pressure and took a trail before moving away from the markers at the 600m. CHELSAVA ANGEL was four back on the markers before breaking stride mid-race and finishing at the tail of the field.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.2            Final Half: - 58.6               Margins: - 5m, 35m

Trial 5: - CHANGE THE PRINT was a very impressive winner. He trailed the leader and raced fiercely mid-race, moved away from the inside at the quarter pole and sprinted sharply in a final half of 56.6 seconds to win by a comfortable margin. LUVHAVINFUN settled three back on the markers and finished on quite well for second with NANCYS BOY being in third after being four back on the markers throughout. MADAZALWAYS began quickly to lead and set up a reasonable tempo but tired late and finished in fourth. THE JET PLAYER settled last on the markers, broke stride at the 1300m, losing 20m and never really recovered.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.6            Final Half: - 56.6               Margins: - 8m, 2m

BLACKBOOKER: - Change The Print

Trial 6: - CLOUD BREAK settled last on the markers, came away from the inside at the 700m mark but was still approximately 40m away from the leader. He made up good ground then went to the inside of JILLIBY RHYTHM to poke through late and win impressively. JILLIBY RHYTHM settled 3 back on the markers and came to the outside in the latter stages. She worked home well but not as fast as the winner. LIFEASWEKNOWIT began quickly to lead, took a trail and ended up finishing a distant third with TEDDY RUNKLE dropping back to fourth after setting up a genuine tempo in the lead. BERYLS GRIN (Grinfromeartoear – Panorama Wealth 1.58.4, $39,331) was four back on the markers and broke stride with 300m remaining, losing all chance.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.1            Final Half: - 60.3               Margins: - 1m, 25m

Trial 7: - A JEWEL IN THE CROWN produced an eye-catching performance when she comfortably beat the pacers. She settled fifth on the inside, moved away from the markers at the 700m, sprinted quickly in the back straight and was able to angle in behind the leader at the quarter pole before accelerating beautifully via the sprint lane. YERING BROMAC began quickly to lead and raced keenly throughout the middle stages. She finished in second ahead of JAEDEN, which raced without cover throughout. MILLY AN EYRE settled four back on the markers and finished in fourth position. She is a former New Zealander, which had one start at Boort back in March prior to being spelled. Her advantage is a very low National Rating so she will be eligible to contest some suitable trotting events in the near future. She is drawn on the pole position at Charlton on Monday. SHEZAROCKNROLLIN settled seventh on the inside and finished in fifth position ahead of WHERESMILZEE, which trailed the leader throughout. LYDIA LOVEDAY was the last horse to greet the judge after being six back on the markers throughout.

BENDIGO 09/11/20

Trial 1: - TENLILFONZIES stepped away well to lead and established a good margin over his two rivals in the early and middle stages. He kept on trotting solidly all of the way to the line and was never in any danger of defeat. THE RED WARRIOR stepped away slowly but safely and settled down last of the three runners. He came to the outside with 700m remaining but was giving away a big margin to TENLILFONZIES at the time. He did pick up some ground over the concluding stages. WILL PATRICK jumped away well to be in second but lost ground on TENLILFONZIES and rolled into a gallop half way down the back straight on the final occasion.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.4            Final Half: - 61.0               Margins: - 35m, 100m

Trial 2: - The smart mare BOXOFCHOCOLATES began very quickly to lead, took a trail at the 1500m and pulled hard but accelerated beautifully when allowed to stride from the 500m mark, scoring easily. JILLIBY LOLLIE trailed the leader early then settled three back on the markers mid-race. She worked home nicely for second with DANMAN coming from last of the four runners to snare third position. MANASSA SKY dropped out to last early, dashed around the field from the 1600m to quickly find the front but tired over the final 150m and ended up being last of the four runners to greet the judge.

Mile Rate: - 2.0.7            Final Half: - 56.5               Margins: - 8m, 7m

Trial 3: - DON’T CARE was able to round off his Breeders Crown heat preparation with a big victory. He trailed the leader early, circled around to find the front at the mile marker and really let down nicely in the latter stages, racing away to win by a big margin and seemingly with something in reserve. It obviously gave him plenty of confidence as he delivered a top performance to win his heat of the Breeders Crown on Thursday. IRENE ROSE began quickly to lead, took a trail and finished in second position with ANGSKI being third after settling three back on the markers and using the passing lane. LOTTA FUSS broke at the start and lost approximately 25m prior before tacking onto the group and racing four back on the markers for the remainder of the journey.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.3            Fin Half: - 58.0                 Margins: - 25m, 4m

Trial 4: - NEANGER GUY showed very good gate speed to lead and was able to back off the tempo mid-race. None of his rivals made a move until turning for home so he had a good kick left at the finish and he held on to win. OUR DOREEN DAYS began nicely and moved up without cover. He held on well in the dash up the straight to finish in second position. HEZA SECRET settled three back on the inside, was held up for a run at a vital stage and dashed through along the sprint lane to finish third. WINNING SPIRIT gained a one out and one back trail, came out three horses wide on the home turn and finished a close up fourth. SELAPHOBIA began well and took a trail behind NEANGER GUY. He never peeled off the back of the leader at any stage and went to the line seemingly with plenty in reserve. ALEPPO MURPHY settled sixth on the outside (1-2) and remained in that position with REVA (last on the markers, pulled hard) running in at the tail of the field but there wasn’t much separating first to last.

Mile Rate: - 2.3.4            Final Half: - 58.8               Margins: - 2m, Head

Trial 5: - SASSYS A TERROR began quickly and was able to angle in behind the leader POLLY PEACHUM around the first corner. She raced greenly on the first corner but settled a lot better mid-race. She used the sprint lane, drove through nicely and appeared to have plenty left in reserve. WHATA ROLLER settled three back on the markers, moved to the outside half way down the back straight and was hitting the line strongly but just failed to pick up SASSYS A TERROR. POLLY PEACHUM began quickly to lead, ran along at an even tempo and kicked on well to go down narrowly. MIDNIGHT CALM trailed forward behind WHATA ROLLER and held her own in the straight. YELLOW BOW settled down in last position, continued to use inside runs and went back into the sprint lane over the latter stages. She remained in last position but wasn’t beaten by far.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.7            Final Half: - 57.9               Margins: - Head, Head

Trial 6: - MADAM AUCKLAND began well from the pole position and led comfortably. She led, set up a slow tempo and never appeared to be in any danger of defeat. LEOTARDANDLACE trailed the leader and came to the outside with 100m remaining, holding her ground late with RINGER RUSS being in third position after settling down last of the three horses, moving to the outside at the 500m mark and trying hard in the straight.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.8            Final Half: - 59.5               Margins: - 3m, 7m

GEELONG 09/11/20

Trial 1: - MEGIDDO has had two starts for trainer Joe Pace and finished second first up for the stable. He is better known as a short course specialist but he recorded slick time when scoring in the opening trial. IM SHORT AND SWEET has done a good job since coming from New Zealand and she has scored at her past two attempts. She was beaten narrowly in fast time. IM SANDY BAY is a former Queensland pacer, which recently joined trainer Joe Pace. She broke stride at her last run at Redcliffe and was stood down to trial. She finished third ahead of the classy trotter I AM PEGASUS.

JASPERINE (Artistic Fella – Tiny Treasure) was a qualifier for trainer Michael Cole and finished third ahead of FROSOS GIRL, which hasn’t started since January.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.8            Final Half: - 58.3               Margins: - Nose, 10m

Trial 3: - KAUDO is a smart trotter when he puts it altogether and hasn’t raced since a fourth at Melton in May, where he broke stride and was stood down to trial. He won his trial by a comfortable margin from CHAMPAGNE CHARLEY (Used To Me – Bella Cheval 2.1.7, $38,638), which has shown some ability for trainer Fred Spiteri in several recent trial performances but unfortunately made a mistake on debut in a heat of the Breeders Crown on Thursday. FLOATING MOUNTAIN was last of the three runners to cross the line.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.5            Final Half: - 59.5               Margins: - 5m, 25m

Trial 4: - During the corresponding week last year, CRUZ BROMAC was registering the biggest win of his career in the 2019 New Zealand Cup. He has been unplaced in three starts at his current Australian campaign, including a sixth in the Victoria Cup. He beat home the brilliant mare OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY, which produced an awesome finish to win the Make Mine Cullen in a mile rate of 1.52.5 on October 17. BELLIGERENCE and HAWAIIANBEACH were facing an uphill battle chasing two proven Group 1 winners and they finished third and fourth respectively.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.1            Final Half: - 57.8               Margins: - 6m, 10m

Trial 5: - MEGEVE was formerly with Anton Golino and is now being prepared by Fred Spiteri. SUN BODY finished in third position ahead of the maiden performer POCKET OF SUCCESS and WINGMAN FLING.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.2            Final Half: - 59.6               Margins: - Head, 5m

MELTON 10/11/20

Trial 1: - QUEEN INVASION settled three back on the inside, moved away from the markers with a half mile remaining and won with plenty left in reserve. ABUNDANCE has had a few trials recently and was able to do everything right, finishing second after attempting to lead all of the way. ALDEBARAN TAKARA (Trixton – Aldebaran Turnpike USA 1.59.6, $20,625) trail his stable mate and leader ABUNDANCE throughout but started to trot very roughly once the pressure went on over the concluding stages. He lost ground over the final stages and finished in third position. ROGUE GENTLEMAN was on his worst behaviour and galloped out of contention. He was retired from the trial, which wasn’t a good preparation for his Breeders Crown heat attempt on Thursday and he was withdrawn from that event.

Mile Rate: - 2.7.5            Final Half: - 60.86    Margins: - 8m, 22.5m

Trial 2: - ROCKTAGONAL settled down last of the four runners, quickly dashed around to trail the leader from the 1600m and never looked like being beaten. He came to the outside with 350m remaining, sprinted sharply and quickly put the issue beyond doubt, scooting away to win by eleven metres. TREMBITA finished in second position after setting the speed throughout. SUMMER GRIN was three then four back on the markers, moved up without cover and battled into third position. GOZO GOLD (Modern Art – Cuban Gold) was behind the leader early but wasn’t keeping in touch, which allowed ROCKTAGONAL to make his move shortly after the start. He then raced three back on the markers and was yielding ground with 600m remaining.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.4            Final Half: - 59.0               Margins: - 11m, 49.5m

Trial 3: - YMBRO WASTED was very keen before the start and pulled his way to the front as the green light was activated. He led, raced fiercely and set up a genuine tempo throughout but got the prize comfortably at the end. He has drawn awkwardly on the outside of the second line at Kilmore this afternoon. FREMARKSPOETRY was without cover early, angled in behind the leader at the 1600m and moved back into the death seat at the 600m to try and pursue. He was close to YMBRO WASTED on the turn but peaked over the latter stages and finished a distant second. MAJESTIC DREAM was fifth on the markers, moved into the death seat at the 700m and gained a one out and one back trail shortly afterwards. She finished just behind FREMARKSPOETRY and comfortably defeating FLING ABOUT, which trailed the leader early before ending up being three back on the markers. TZU NIEN was four back on the inside, ended up being three back in the running lane (1-2) in the back straight on the final occasion and switched back to the inside approaching the home turn but broke stride with 200m remaining.

Mile Rate: - 1.59.7          Final Half: - 58.21    Margins: - 9m, ½ Neck

BETTER ECLIPSE (Betterthancheddar – Power of Eclipse) settled last of the four runners, angled out three horses wide on the home turn and ran home nicely for second. WUNDERLAND attempted to lead all of the way and finished in third position with TREBEK being in fourth after tailing the leader, moving up without over at the 600m but hanging badly in the turn out of the back straight and rolling off the track.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.6            Final Half: - 58.96    Margins: - 3m, 4.5m

Trial 5: - DELS DESTINY pushed forward to be without cover early, progressed to the lead over the early pacemaker CORK and set up a slow tempo. He had a good kick left at the finish and was able to hold off the challenge of CONSTANTINOPLE (Trixton – El Scorcho 2.2.6, $14,255) to gain the judge’s verdict. CONSTANTINOPLE was one out and one back early, dropped onto the markers to be in fourth then moved into the one out and one back trail again with 600m remaining. He wanted to hang in a little down the straight but he was finding the line determinedly and without being pushed. He makes his debut at Charlton on Monday where he is awkwardly drawn but he has shown enough ability at the trials to be competitive. CORK led out, took a trail and used the sprint lane to finish in third. HALLABOUTME trailed the leader, was shuffled to three back on the markers and came to the outside with 600m remaining. She finished fourth ahead of ONEOUTOFTHESQUARE, which was last (5 back markers, 1-2) for the duration.

She is resuming from a short break at Cranbourne on Sunday. MISS VICTORIA boxed on well for second but just met a better horse on the day. ARTS DASH settled down last of the four runners and only peeled to the outside late, running home well and without being pushed. BRONSKI ROYAL wasn’t beaten by too far but was last of the four runners throughout after settling three back on the markers and using the sprint lane in the home straight.

Mile Rate: - 2.3.1            Final Half: - 56.49    Margins: - 2.5m, 5.5m

SHEPPARTON 10/11/20

Trial 1: - THREE BROS (Dejarmbro – Right Yankee) bounced to the front from the standing start and set up a slow tempo. He appeared to have trouble concentrating being in front with no challengers and he had his ears pricked, having a good look at the finishing post in the home straight so there is plenty of improvement left in him. LUCKY SERINA trailed the leader, came to the outside at the 300m mark and fleetingly looked to be a chance on the home turn. She tried hard and finished about a length from the winner on the line. LOOK FOR TASCOTT (Skyvalley – Hands of a Star) began slowly but safely, lost approximately 30m early then made an error at the 1400m mark and was tailed off for the remainder of the trip.

Mile Rate: - 2.7.3            Final Half: - 60.3               Margins: - 3m, Distanced (approximately)

Trial 2: - WAYONBYE was caught wide in the early stages and progressed forward to find the lead with 1700m remaining. He rolled along at a genuine tempo and raced to an easy victory. OUR EDUARDO DENARIO led out then took a trail but didn’t run a bad race considering he is a National Ratings assessed 54 pacer and he was taking on much harder opposition. DO NOT SURRENDER settled down in eight position (1-3) and was able to push forward into the one out and one back trail in the back straight then came to the outside on the home turn. He was doing his best work at the end and finished in third position. LONESTAR LAD settled three back on the outside and started his run with 700m remaining. He was able to get up to second before the home turn but peaked on his run late. WESTERN SONADOR was the eye-catching run of the trial. He settled four back on the markers and was badly hampered behind the tiring BRING THE ACTION, losing approximately 25m. He came to the outside at the quarter pole and made up many lengths. He is certainly performing well enough to win a race in the near future and would be in the horses to follow column had he been on a slightly easier mark (National Ratings 77). MISS FANDANGO was left without cover for the majority of the trial and dropped back on the markers with 600m remaining. PIRATE BAY was on his worst behaviour after he galloped in the score up losing approximately 50m before pacing roughly with 1400m remaining. He beat home the trotter GUNNING (1-1) and BRING THE ACTION (3 back markers), which both started yielding ground in the back straight on the final occasion.

LOPEZ (A Rocknroll Dance – Chenille) settled three back on the markers and used inside runs throughout to finish in third position. DOROTHYS RIVER (Blissfull Hall – River of Money 1.59.1, $2,992) was away from the markers early, found a position on the inside in fourth and moved into the running lane (1-2) with 500m remaining. She was out very wide turning for home and picked up some ground for fifth. BINNO MAJOR (1-3,1-2,1-1, 3 wide at the 300m) finished in sixth ahead of FOLLOW THE ECLIPSE, which broke stride and lost 50m at the start, and THE BUTCHER (1-2, 1-1, without cover) was last after galloping on the home turn.

Mile Rate: - 2.0.9            Final Half: - 58.8               Margins: - 8m, 10m

Trial 4: - CHANGEOVER GIRL (Changeover – Shortys Treasure 1.58.8, $24,110) has had an extensive trial campaign and produced a very good performance to win by a large margin. She raced without cover for the entire trip, went for home with 500m remaining and scored easily. ASTERISM settled three back on the markers and was held up for a run at a vital stage before slicing through late for an eye-catching second. SPENCER (Courage Under Fire – Seville Lady 1.59.8, $11,785) settled three back on the outside and was doing his best work late for third with AWAYOVERNIGHT in fourth after settling on the markers in fifth, getting shuffled back on the inside and coming out wide turning for home. Trial 5: - SUPER SERVICE (Majestic Son – Sunday Service 2.1.0, $26,430) trailed the leader, came to the outside at the 500m and drew away in the straight to win easily. He appeared to be absolutely jogging at the end so he is certainly worth following. COMANDANTE began quickly but broke stride 100m after the start, losing approximately 30m. He came from last of the four runners to finish second with the early leader MOTORING HALL running in third. LITTLE TEDEY (Peak – Mother Nature 2.4.5, $37,030) settled three back on the inside, broke stride at the quarter pole but picked up some ground in the latter stages.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.1            Final Half: - 60.8               Margins: - 8m, 12m
