Terang 02/06/19
Trial 1: - JAEDEN was unplaced at Stawell when making his Australian debut but he is showing ability at the trials. He defeated JILLIBY ADORE (Roll With Joe – Jilliby Kate 1.59.5, $38,150) and recorded a slippery final half in the process. JILLIBY SCOOBY DOO, which was runner up on debut, finished third in front of ELLISTON (Auckland Reactor – Love My Way 2.1.8, $5,7,13) and the juvenile trotter DOUBLE HELIX finished last of the five runners.

Trial 2: - CRIME WRITER is a quality 3yo pacer having finished fourth in the Victoria Derby and he recorded a good final half to win the trial. MENDED ran second in front of JUST CALL ME WALLY (Modern Art – Athena Bromac 1.58.1, $41,923), which obviously did well, considering he is an unraced 3yo taking on several nicely performed runners. WISP OF SMOKE (Dejarmbro – Fire Chase 2.7.5, $12,025) was next and his half brother IPSEY WIPSY (Yankee Spider – Fire Chase) failed to complete the course.

Trial 3: - NANCYS BOY went very quickly when leading at his Australian debut and finished unplaced. His trial form at Terang is very strong however and he recorded a fast mile rate in defeating SMALL TOWN at his latest trial performance so he is worth following. SMALL TOWN beat the remainder of the field by a large margin with FIDES in third position ahead of ABBEY FIELDS and TOGETHERWEDREAM.

Maryborough 02/06/19
Trial 1: - It was an interesting trial with the outstanding pacer SOHO TRIBECA going down and he was being reigned along at the finish. He trailed the leader, moved into the death seat at the 600m and was gunned down late by RACKEMUP TIGERPIE, which trailed him throughout the entire trial. RESURGENT SPIRIT settled last of the four, zipped through to trail the leader MACEY JAYDE at the 600m before being held up for a run at a vital stage and making up ground late. MACEY JAYDE finished last but she galloped momentarily in the score up, pushed through to lead, and is a C7 assessed pacer that was taking on the open class.

Trial 2: - DOWNUNDER BARKERS is a T1 assessed trotter and was taking on the 2/3yo’s so he was entitled to win the trial. He settled four back on the markers and he finished powerfully to get up and win. DREAM OVER pushed forward to lead and enjoyed a good run throughout but was grabbed on the line. LOLA DEVEREAUX settled three back on the markers and finished third without really being pushed at any stage. RIGONDEAUX trailed the leader and loomed up to hit the lead approaching the home turn but broke stride and lost his chance. INSATIABLE GEM (Tennotrump – Jewel Of The Night 2.6.0, $72,065) was very slowly away and settled approximately 20m behind the pack. He remained in that position throughout and WHOS COUNTN broke stride shortly after the start.

Trial 3: - THEDEVILINDISGUISE settled four back on the markers and never went around a horse, scooting along the sprint lane to get up and win. JERICHOS TRUMPET trailed the leader and came to the outside on the home turn. He hit the lead in the straight but couldn’t withstand the late challenge from THEDEVILINDISGUISE. KILLER DRAGON led and set up a hectic tempo in the back straight on the final occasion but became a little leg weary late. He finished third in front of KHEIRON, which settled three back on the markers. TWO TELL raced in the one out and one back trail throughout and beat home THE STAGS ROAR, which raced in the death seat.

Trial 4: - IOLANTA (Bettors Delight – Long Live Lana) couldn’t have been more impressive. He zipped to the lead in the early stages, took cover behind SEEMEPEARLYWHITES at the bell then moved to the death seat at the 800m. He cut loose from the quarter pole and won by a large margin. KEILAH (Art Major – Shakeilah 2.1.6, $13,691) settled last of the five runners and was doing her best work late to get into a distant second. MAJOR BANKS (Major Bronski – Bed And Banks 2.3.2, $2,250) raced in the one out and one back trail for the majority of the journey and finished third in front of SEEMEPEARLYWHITES, which raced without cover for over a lap. CARRAMAR CEE SMITH (Well Said – Choctaw Annie 2.0.8, $7,394) finished at the tail after trailing the leader.

BLACKBOOKER: - Iolanta
Trial 5: - TRACER BULLET continues to make a good impression. He raced one out and two back from the 1100m, came out wide from the 400m and unleashed a strong finish to win the trial. MAKE HASTE led from the pole position and kicked on well for second. ILLAWONG JOVIAL finished third after trailing the leader throughout with MAJOR MAYHEM (1-1) in fourth position. DONTCH SEE IT raced a little keenly in fifth and stayed in that position with TALE OF THE DRAGON in sixth after racing without cover throughout. SONNY SAID SO (Well Said – Amazing Ellen) settled last on the markers and yielded ground in the final 500m.

Trial 6: - THE NIGHT KING (Danny Bouchea – Motu Paulina) led from the pole position and established a lead of approximately 60m at one stage but he couldn’t maintain the momentum. FREMARKSROOSTER began slowly but safely from his handicap of 30m but he steadily made ground on the leader in the final lap and was way too good in the run to the finish.

Kyabram 02/06/19
Trial 1: - The unraced juvenile JUST A PHILTRA (Auckland Reactor – Just Look At Me 2.7.8, $5,800) has been showing some ability at the trials and defeated the 3yo pacer STARRY MACH, which has won a race previously. HIGH FLUX (Auckland Reactor – Yokas 1.58.7, $53,096) finished 10m away in third position ahead of WICKSONFIRE (Tell All – Merindah Micron 1.58.0, $43,165) and MYNAMESGRAHAM (Imperial Count – Strike Destroyer 2.5.3, $36,119).

Trial 2: - AMERICAN SWEETHART (American Ideal – Crystal Reign 2.3.3, $33,714) has had an extensive trial campaign with some success and she won the final trial in front of WILD IMAGINATION (Safari – Elsu Dream 1.59.7, $13,449) with BRIE a close up third. COMMON PEOPLE (Mach Three – The Oval Office 1.59.9, $9,908) was fourth in front of SAFARI DUNBAR.

Wangaratta 03/06/19
Trial 1: - Only three runners contested the one trial at Wangaratta with HIGHMORALGROUND, a daughter of Alta Christiano, which has only faced the starter once, winning from MUCHOS HOMBRES and the unraced 3yo SWISS OPAL (Betterthancheddar – Artistic Opal) finished last of the three runners.

Geelong 03/06/19
Trial 1: - NOTORIOUS JOE (Roll With Joe – Legal Art) settled last of the four runners and moved into the one out and one back trail from the bell. He finished off strongly out wide on the track to win the trial. LETS GO EXCLUSIVE (Caribbean Blaster – Bella Fortuna 2.1.2, $5,830) finished second after trailing the leader and using the sprint lane. BEACH HARMODY (Somebeachsomewhere – Christian Melody 1.56.2, $212,580) settled three back on the markers and moved up without cover from the bell. He finished third but wasn’t really extended and the early leader BRONSKI MOMENT (Major Bronski – Mystical Rainbow) was last of the four.

Trial 2: - ITSALLANDOVER (Andover Hall – Access To Success USA) pushed forward and found the lead after 300m. He set up a slow tempo and won comfortably at the finish. IM READY JET (Quaker Jet – Im Ready Set 1.56.6, $69,031) settled three back on the markers and moved up without cover at the 700m. He tucked in behind ITSALLANDOVER before the home turn and only hooked out in the final 30m, running to the line well under his own steam. IMMAORIJET (Quaker Jet – Sumthingaboutmaori 2.0.9, $461,499) came from last of the five to run into a distant third in front of ABITOFADREAMER (Used To Me – My Dreamweaver $33,763), which trailed the leader. AMUNET (Majestic Son – Melpark Sunrise 1.59.0, $121,390) was the only horse in the trial for juvenile trotters to make an error and that occurred with 500m remaining.

Trial 3: - FIRE UP FRANCO speared to the lead at the start and set up a reasonable tempo. TOUGH CALL settled four back on the inside before moving into the death seat at the 700m. He made a late lunge but just failed. ANA MALAK settled three back on the inside and gained a clear passage on the home turn. He took a long time to hit top gear but at the end, he was getting home better than any of his rivals. FORTY THIEVES trailed the leader throughout and finished fourth ahead of MATCH POINT, which settled at the rear of the field.

Trial 4: - The maiden 3yo NORQUAY began well but took cover behind the T4 assessed trotter EGEE MONEY. EGEE MONEY jogged along in the lead and cruised to an easy victory. COCO LOMBO settled three back on the markers and moved into the death seat at the 600m. He battled on for second in front of ACCOUNT CLOSED, which made an error at the start and did plenty of chasing, picking up at least 30m. NORQUAY galloped when trailing the leader on the home turn and lost all chance.

Trial 5: - ARGGGHHH pushed forward to find the lead and was always in control. He slipped away on the home corner and won easily. ASHINCHARGE trailed the leader throughout and finished second. TREVEAN raced in the death seat for the entire trip and finished third in front of JAKALIJA, which was three back on the inside throughout.

Trial 6: - The three runners settled in single file with THE LOUSTAR leading from SELLING THE DREAM and WAR DAN. WAR DAN made his move from the 500m and sustained the run to win the trial from THE LOUSTAR and SELLING THE DREAM finished last but he was holding his own at the finish.
Mile Rate: - 2.0.4 Final Half: - 57.2 Margins: - 1.5m, 3m
Trial 7: - SUPREME DOMINATOR led and ran along at an even tempo. He kicked on strongly when challenged in the final 100m and he may have had something in reserve. BETTOR ROBYN settled last of the four runners and sprinted sharply in the final 300m. She was beaten by a narrow margin and it was an eye-catching effort. BALTIC ACE was in third position trailing AUCKLAND RED throughout and was able to get the better of that pacer in the latter stages.

BLACKBOOKER: - Bettor Robyn
Trial 8: - AVIMORE (Angus Hall-Speedy Naomi 2.3.9, $77,319) has been very impressive at the trials recently and he performed beautifully again despite the mile rate being slow. He settled three back on the inside and gave SHOWEMYOURMUSCLES a big start at the 500m but won easily at the end. SHOWEMYOURMUSCLES trailed the leader and cut loose from the 800m to establish a big lead. He got tired late and was no match for AVIMORE at the finish. GUN SLINGER (Muscle Hill – Shezoneoftheboyz 2.2.5, $91,849) stepped away nicely to lead but ended up finishing a distant third and QUAKE PROOF (Quaker Jet – Adellas Dash 2.3.0, $102,626) was the only horse to make an error and that occurred at the 1700m mark.

Bendigo 03/06/19
Trial 1: - The Mildura Cup winner ENDSIN A PARTY took on the maiden trotters and won comfortably. MISS KAIKOURA finished in second position with FETCH IT third and CINKARI fourth.

Trial 2: - LOTTA FUSS (Majestic Son – Gladys Emanuel 2.3.9, $78,049) began well and progressed forward to find the lead with 1200m remaining. He was always in control and scored with something in reserve. WHOS COUNTN was the fastest to begin and led before taking cover behind LOTTA FUSS. He finished second in front of PINEVALE VICTORIA (Majestic Son – Running Pinevale 2.4.3, $100,618), which raced three back on the markers throughout. BAGSHOT BOY (Bacardi Lindy – Nikality) is a 3yo trotter and was taking on the juveniles but he was the only one to make an error. He settled at the rear of the field then broke stride at the 1100m mark.
Mile Rate: - 2.7.5 Final Half: - 62.4 Margins: - 5m, 7m
Trial 3: - SHE WILL ROCK (Rock N Roll Heaven – My Little Black Dress ($4,325) led out and held off a brief challenge from BELLA BRONSKI before taking cover behind HEADLINE ACT at the 1200m mark. She used the sprint lane in the final stages and got up to defeat HEADLINE ACT on the line. BELLA BRONSKI dropped back to be three back on the markers after beginning quickly. She moved up without cover at the 500m and tried hard in the straight. THE SPIN PROFESSOR was four back on the markers throughout and finished fourth with MINIKA (Art Major – Awesome Powers) being last all of the way.

Trial 4: - DELAROSE left the gate cleanly and led the field of three comfortably. She was never challenged and cruised to an effortless victory. VINCENT KAI (Bacardi Lindy – Subitize 2.9.7, $6,106) began slowly but safely and was approximately 15m behind the leader for the majority of the journey before losing ground in the final 400m. MULBERRY PIE galloped for the first 100m of the trial, settled down a clear last then broke stride again at the 1200m and was tailed off for the remainder of the trip.
Mile Rate: - 2.7.6 Final Half: - 62.3 Margins: - 30m, 100m
Trial 5: - LOUNGE ART settled six back on the markers and moved up without cover from the 900m mark. He hit the lead on the home turn and was too good at the finish. SOME CHANGE enjoyed a nice trail and was held up for a run at a vital stage before finishing stylishly. OLLIE AND BROCK finished third after trailing the leader LEWIS LANE, which ran along at a rapid rate and held onto fourth in the latter stages. MISSUS MATILDA (Live Or Die – Andrea Hayley 2.2.3, $4,875) settled six back on the markers and ended up in fifth position with NATAHAN RYAN (American Ideal – Lisconnie USA) finishing sixth. MACWRECKER (Grinfromeartoear – Illawong Katrina) broke stride in the final 150m and OUR TRIPLE ASSET was retired from the trial after striking trouble in the early stages.

Trial 6: - FLOJOS GOLD settled fourth and moved into the one out and one back trail when MURANO moved up without cover from three back on the markers at the 900m. She peeled off the back of MURANO approaching the home turn and sprinted home too well in fast final sectionals. SHAWAMI LASS trailed FLOJOS GOLD throughout and did a terrific job to make up ground out wide on the track in the latter stages. The early leader PAYING YOUR WAY held down third in front of MURANO and BLAZING TERROR was last of the five after trailing the leader throughout.

Kilmore 04/06/19
Trial 1: - HATCHBACK led the trial comfortably and was untouched going to the line to win easily. KYVALLEY CLICHY settled three back on the markers and did pick up a lot of ground in the final 50m. He also had something in reserve so it was a nice performance. CAABELLO finished third after trailing the leader and MAGICAL was always tailed off after galloping twice in the score up.

Trial 2: - MAX DELIGHT won the New South Wales and Tasmanian Derbies at his two efforts prior to a spell and he has appeared to be very sharp at the trials. He led throughout and won by a large margin with something in reserve. ICONIC MAJOR was three back on the markers trailing OUR ROAD TO MECCA. He chased hard behind a quality horse and finished a nice second. OUR ROAD TO MECCA was third and DELIGHTFUL SYSTEM was retired from the trial with 800m remaining.

BLACKBOOKER: - Iconic Major
Trial 3: - MONTEREI HEAVEN (Rock N Roll Heaven – Our Miss Daisy) ended up being three back on the markers and worked home well to get passed his stable mate IDEALLY AMERICAN (American Ideal – Snug Harbour) to win by a narrow margin. IDEALLY AMERICAN began well and pushed forward to find the lead in the back straight on the first occasion. He was very lazy in the front running role and was urged along throughout but he kicked on fairly well when pressured in the straight. ROCKINGWITHSIERRA settled five back on the markers and produced a dazzling burst of speed to hit the lead on the home turn. She broke stride and dropped back to fourth before regathering momentum in the latter stages. There is no doubt she would have won the trial had she not made the error on the home corner. BARBADOS BABE led out then took cover and finished fourth ahead of PEPPERBERRY (Major Bronski – Rock Melody 2.2.6, $19,300), which was four back on the markers throughout.

Trial 4: - HYPERSONIC DRIVE was able to lead comfortably from the pole position as the remainder of the field all restrained at the start. They raced in single file with HYPERSONIC DRIVE leading from TALEGGIO, CARLAS VIEW, FOREVER AND A DAY and NIKITARAS. The maiden performer TALEGGIO hooked to the outside on the turn and looked to be a big danger but he hung in and broke stride with the three runners behind being lucky to avoid him. HYPERSONIC DRIVE held on from FOREVER AND A DAY, which motored along the sprint lane with NIKITARAS finishing strongly out wide on the track for third. CARLAS VIEW went to the line without being extended and could have finished closer with TALEGGIO ending up at the rear of the field.
Mile Rate: - 2.7.4 Final Half: - 59.8 Margins: - 2.5m, 1m
Trial 5: - It was an interesting start to the fast class trial with SICARIO drawn in one, HIGHERTHANANEAGLE being the lone runner on the second row and MAESTRO BELLINI starting from one on the third row. SICARIO led with JOE NIEN angling in behind and HIGHERTHANANEAGLE settled three back on the markers. MY GENERAL LEE was fourth with MAESTRO BELLINI being last of the five. HIGHERTHANANEAGLE used his brilliant turn of speed to finish over the top of SICARIO in the final 100m. MY GENERAL LEE used inside runs but finished solidly for third in front of JOE NIEN. MAESTRO BELLINI finished last but his run was still okay. He pulled extremely hard for the entire journey and he held his ground in the run to the finish.

Trial 6: - KAUDO (Bacardi Lindy – Poet Laureate 2.5.7, $44,598) stepped to the front from the standing start and set up a slow tempo. He was being challenged by MARVELLOUS MAX, which started from the handicap of 50m, on the home turn but that horse galloped and KAUDO was allowed to run to the post under his own steam. FROSTY RECEPTION trailed KAUDO until moving into the death seat at the 700m mark. He couldn’t go with the leader in the back straight and switched back into the trailing position before the quarter pole. He tried hard in the straight to finish only four metres from the winner.
