Vicbred Vouchers approved for APG and Nutrien online winter sales

Vicbred Voucher winners will be able to use their $5000 bonuses on eligible Vicbred horses at the May 24 APG Autumn Mix Sale and forthcoming APG and Nutrien winter sales.

More than 270 of the $5000 vouchers have been won by 150 different owners since Harness Racing Victoria and the State Government’s $2.75 million breeder bonus scheme was announced last year, with about 100 redeemed at APG and Nutrien sales.

The $5000 bonuses are placed on select Vicbred races, which the winning owners can then use to compensate for a Victorian stallion service or Vicbred Platinum sales purchase.

Redemption opportunities are now greater, with HRV announcing the vouchers can be applied at the upcoming APG and Nutrien online winter sales towards Vicbred Platinum or Vicbred Pure weanlings, yearlings, and infoal Victorian-bred mares, provided they are foaled in Victoria.

HRV Head of Racing Greg Gangle said they wanted “to offer flexibility to encourage investment into the Victorian bloodstock”.

“If somebody is sitting on a voucher, here are more opportunities to invest into the Victorian industry, which is what the vouchers set out to do,” he said.

Gangle said extending voucher redemption to online auctions would give breeders and owners greater confidence in those sales.

Online entries are open for APG’s May 24 Autumn Mix Sale until Sunday, with a further sale to follow on August 16. Click here for details. Details of Nutrien’s 2026 Winter Woolies Mixed Sale are still to be announced.

All voucher usage remains subject to standard Vicbred eligibility criteria and conditions of sale. Participants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the relevant guidelines and to confirm administrative requirements directly with APG or Nutrien prior to sale entry or purchase.

Further information regarding Vicbred Voucher eligibility and redemption processes is available here or via the respective sales companies.
