SHEPPARTON 09/04/20

Trial 1: - SHEZA PLEASURE (Bacardi Lindy – Sheza Comment) stepped away nicely and was able to lead throughout. LOVE GUN (Love You – Spidergirl 1.56.8, $317,657) ducked in to trail the leader and ran home well but missed out by a metre. MIELICKI (Majestic Son – Lady Mackendon 2.0.9, $36,200) was slow to move and missed the start by fifteen metres, remained last of the three runners and came away from the inside on the home turn. He was trying to pick up ground in the straight but was trotting very roughly.

Trial 2: - UPRIGHT (Art Major – Pretty Interest) showed good gate speed, raced fiercely in the middle stages and was very green during the run but he was able to hang on and get the prize. MACH HAMMER (Mach Three – Carpenters Daughter 1.56.1, $293,378) settled fifth on the inside and was out four horses wide on the home turn before finishing strongly over the final 150m. He wasn’t extended over the concluding stages so it was a good performance. OUTLOOK (Art Major – Vista Bella 1.57.9, $110,021) settled four back on the inside before moving into the one out and one back trail and coming out three horses wide with 300m remaining. He tried hard and finished in third position. GIANNIS AY MACRAY (Grinfromeartoear – Macray Rosewood) trailed the leader and finished in fourth position with CASHFLOW CASSIE (Artsplace – A Few Dollars More 1.57.4, $4,088) finishing at the tail of the field after having a crack for the early lead and being left stranded without cover.

Trial 3: - LETHAL LOVER eased back to be sixth on the markers, moved into the one out and one back trail mid-race and finished off solidly to win. AMBER ALERT was left without cover and was driven hard to find the lead at the 1500m mark. She kicked on strongly and was beaten narrowly on the line. WALKAMILEINMYSHOES led out and eventually took cover behind AMBER ALERT and battled on well for a close up third. UBETCHA (Betterthancheddar – Alleluia Lombo) settled three back on the inside and moved up without cover from the 600m mark, finishing fourth ahead of ROYAL ADMIRAL, which ended up being four back on the markers. AMERICAN SWEETHEART led in the early stages but was shuffled back on the markers and finished sixth while LIFE GETS BETTER was tailed off after galloping early.

Trial 4: - SULTAN SASS began quickly and enjoyed a nice run throughout before sprinting home quickly to win by the large margin of 60m. PATCHWORK trailed SULTAN SASS throughout and lost ground from the 600m mark. DURANTE (Majestic Son – Nirvana Castle) broke at the start and was tailed off throughout.

Trial 5: - FULLOFMISCHIEF (Major Bronski – Miss Jules 2.2.8, $16,032) showed good gate speed to lead and held off his rivals to score over JETS ART (Major In Art – Neishars Jet 2.1.9, $12,861), which raced without cover throughout and was very game at the finish. JUKEBOX JET (Rock N Roll Heaven – Beautifulsmile 1.59.2, $8,868) trailed the leader and used the sprint lane, finishing in third position ahead of GALLIFREY DIRECT (Changeover – Oliveleven 2.0.5, $17,800), which raced in the one out and one back trail before coming out wide on the home turn. HOT WIRE (Village Jolt – Hot To Trot Lombo 2.2.0, $26,800) settled fifth on the markers, moved into the running lane (1-2) before finishing off fairly well for fifth. MIDNIGHT CALM (Shadow Play – Prospensity 1.59.7, $2,585) settled three back on the markers and finished sixth in front of RIVIERA ROSE (Four Starzzz Shark – Diamond Over 1.59.3, $43,840), which was without cover early before finding the markers and racing fiercely during the middle stages. PAYUP ORLEAVE (Live Or Die – Orta Be Ruthless 1.59.2, $87,540) settled four back on the outside and broke stride in the final stages.

Trial 6: - SOFALA was restrained at the start and settled three back on the outside before trailing up out three horses wide and finishing strongly to win comfortably at the end. PIRATESOF ZANZIBAR began quickly and was able to hold the lead around the first corner. He copped some pressure in the early stages and kicked on well at the finish to hold down second position. CASTLE RETREAT settled in the one out and one back trail, came out three horses wide from the 600m mark and finished off well for a game third. PASSION PLAY showed good gate speed and ended up behind the leader. He battled on fairly for fourth in front of BRINGITONHOME, which settled in seventh on the markers and was held up for a run at a vital stage before swinging out very wide on the home turn. ROCKON LOCKSLEY was three back on the markers and finished in front of TWEET ABOUT IT, which raced without cover throughout.

Trial 7: - ANDYOU settled three back on the inside, moved up without cover from the 500m mark and dashed to an effortless victory, seemingly with plenty in reserve. MORETON BAY scrambled at the start and lost fifteen metres before trailing ANDYOU all of the way. He worked into second ahead of the early leader MORGAN MYLEE. WILLDOMXAV galloped fifty metres after the start and lost approximately 35m early. He did well to tack on and finish as close as he did in what was a strong trial. DALTON (Bad Boy Truscott – Camp Fire Glow 2.11.2, $7,988) finished at the tail of the field after trailing the leader and breaking stride with 150m remaining.

Trial 1: - DOUBLE HELIX galloped at his only start since June and was able to take out the opening trial of the night by a narrow margin. ALLWATFUNJINGLES (Great Success – Majestic Eclipse) is an unraced gelding for trainer Darren Cole and finished in second position. TOUCHANDGO (Down Under Muscles – Honeylyptus) finished third approximately twelve metres away and SHEZ A DOOD (BG’s Folly – Do Declare) finished in fourth position.

Trial 2: - GOODTIME MACH (Mach Three – Bella Joy 1.53.8, $109, 849) is a nicely bred gelding, which scored for trainer Courtney Slater who provided the Quinella with the filly ELLI JOH (Rock N Roll Heaven – My Double Dream) finishing in second position. ELLI JOH defeated GOODTIME MACH at a Maryborough trial a week earlier. ANGEL I AM (Artspeak – Victree Bette) was last of the three juveniles.

Trial 3: - JACKIERABBIT was able to take out the open class trial by a narrow margin over the Jeff McLean trained pacer NANCYS BOY. LIFEASWEKNOWIT finished a distant third ahead of SHADY DANCER.

Trial 4: - JAEDEN hasn’t had the best of luck at his most recent racetrack appearances and was able to win the trial by fifty metres. The trotter I STAND ALONE (Danny Bouchea – Diamond Insitu) finished in second position with JILLIBY MAKO running in third position. RAINBOWSNPEARLS (Rock N Roll Heaven – Soho Cannes 1.59.1, $115,282) finished in fourth position ahead of MOLON LAVE (Fling It – Atego Lilly 2.3.0, $48,992).

Trial 5: - TROUBADOR remains undefeated in two starts since coming from New Zealand and kept on rolling with a narrow victory at the trials over the Ashleigh Herbertson trained A VAPAR STORM (Tell All – Miss Emjay 2.3.8, $3,246). The open class trotter SUPER ZECK finished a close up third with SPORTY CULTURE being in fourth position.

Trial 6: - SEEKING THOUGHTS gave trainer Jeff McLean and driver Tim McLean the last three winners on the program and scored in style by 30m. WEERROOK BUDDY (Shadyshark Hanover – Tartan Dynasty) finished in second position ahead of SHEZAROCKNROLLIN (Rock N Roll Heaven – Shezahighlander 1.58.6, $19,360) with TERRORINTHECITY in fourth spot. COAL PARK (Roll With Joe – Simply Explosive) was last of the five runners.

CRANBOURNE 11/04/20

Trial 1: - NEEDABACARDI commenced from the handicap of 40m and settled down a clear last of the five runners before tacking onto the group with 1300m to travel. He moved into the one out and one back trail at the 600m and launched a winning claim out three horses wide on the home turn. NAKED AMBITION started from the handicap of 30m and settled in fourth position. She moved up without cover at the half mile marker but broke stride and lost fifteen metres before recovering and working into second over the latter stages. SOVEREIGN TIGER (Majestic Son – Dawn Tears 2.2.0, $36,668) trailed the leader and moved to the lead half way down the back straight on the final occasion. The mile rate was slow but for a juvenile trotter taking on some very good opposition, he did battle on well for third. CAPTAIN MCCRAW (Bacardi Lindy – Miriama) settled three back on the inside before moving up without cover from the 600m mark. He finished fourth in front of the early leader ALDEBARAN MY (Father Patrick – Aldebaran Daisy 2.0.2, $39,099), which raced roughly and galloped momentarily in the back straight. WHOSE ME MUM finished at the tail of the field after being four back on the markers throughout.

Trial 2: - POWDERKEG was checked and galloped early, losing approximately thirty metres before working onto the back of the leader. He moved away from the markers on the home turn and showed his class by running away and winning very easily. TROTTING ROCKSTAR tried to lead all of the way but was no match for POWDERKEG over the latter stages. BUNDISGOOD settled down last before being inconvenienced by the galloping CHRISKEN KIOSK, losing forty metres and ending up three back on the markers. He finished third and CHRISKEN KIOSK was tailed off after being on his worst behaviour at the start.

Trial 3: - ITSOK TO ROCK began quickly to lead in the early stages before taking a trail behind STEELE at the 1800m mark. He sprinted home too well for STEELE late and landed the prize. That pair finished well clear of the others, which was headed by ACCESS DECLINED (Art Major – Gone Walkabout) (without cover). THE FALCON PRINCE finished fourth after settling down three back on the markers and HESABEACHBOY (Sunshine Beach – Bella Belucci) was last of the five runners throughout.

Trial 4: - DENIS WILLIAM settled three back on the markers before moving through to trail the leader at the half mile marker. He had a bit of ground to pick up at the quarter pole but he lifted in the straight to win well. FREEDOM WRITER showed good gate speed to lead and appeared to be travelling like a winner on the home turn but was run down over the latter stages. ROCK THE NATION (Rocknroll Hanover – Stateofthenation) settled down four back on the markers before moving into the one out and one back trail at the 800m post. He finished on well for a close up third. ICANMOTOR (Somebeachsomewhere – Blue Seelster 1.56.2, $54,905) settled down at the rear of the field and picked up OHOKA DIESEL (trailed leader, without cover from 800m) over the final stages.

Trial 5: - ELTEEARR settled three back on the inside and in last position before moving into the one out and one back trail with 600m remaining. She launched a big claim from the quarter pole and ran away from her rivals to win easily. WILL AND ANDY began well from out wide on the track to find the lead. He tried to lead throughout but found ELTEEARR to be too quick up the straight. KICK IT TO JACK raced without cover for the entire trial and finished ahead of ROYAL BETTOR, which trailed the leader and yielded ground with 500m remaining.

MARYBOROUGH 12/04/20

Trial 1: - FEEL THE BUZZ settled three back on the inside before moving up without cover and sprinting home in a quick final half to win the trial nicely. The open class trotter SUNDONS COURAGE tried to lead all of the way and couldn’t have done much more with a final half of 56.0 seconds but found the pacer FEEL THE BUZZ to be better on the day. ALEPPO MURPHY came from last of four runners to pick up the subsequent Bendigo winning pacer INAUGURATE, which yielded ground from behind the leader.

Trial 2: - Only two horses contested the second trial with ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN beating the subsequent Bendigo winner DYNAMIC DIESEL. DYANMIC DIESEL led and took cover behind ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN with 1500m remaining. ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN trotted roughly and had to be held together all throughout the last lap but was still able to hold a good advantage on the line.

Trial 3: - SWEET APPEAL (Sweet Lou – Im Tammy) trailed the leader and came to the outside on the home turn. She hit the lead in the straight then held off the late challenge of ROXY ROYALE (Pet Rock – Baroda Bess), which settled three back on the markers and peeled out deep turning for home. PRIDDY SPUNGEE (Pet Rock – Billion Smiles 1.58.0, $25,480) finished third after setting the speed and RADIANT ROSE (Pet Rock – Coco Cullen 1.58.9, $8,175) was last after being restrained to a rearward position from the death seat and having a tendency to hang out occasionally in the run.

Trial 4: - POLLY PEACHUM settled three back on the markers, moved away from the inside at the 300m mark and was able to get the prize albeit hanging in down the front straight. RINGER RUSS showed good gate speed to lead, took a trail and moved up into the death seat at the 500m. He tried to repel the challenge of POLLY PEACHUM late but just failed. IONA SPIDER pushed forward to find the lead from the 1800m and set up a reasonable tempo. She beat home LONGASULOVEME (Pet Rock – Aniteattheopera 2.1.6, $13,300), which was last of the four runners throughout.

Trial 5: - BEAU GARCON trailed the leader and used the sprint lane to take out the last trial over QUAKER MAKER, which settled three back on the markers some fifteen metres behind the leading pair early. He came away from the markers at the 300m mark and tried hard in the straight. SURBITON ARMISTICE tried to lead all of the way but hung out and galloped with 100m remaining and had to be content with third placing. LUCY SAWYER (Tennotrump – Annies Last 2.9.2, $4,508) was slow to move and was approximately 40m behind the leaders early. She finished ahead of ROCKYBOMBA, which missed the start by around 60m.

SHEPPARTON 14/04/20

Trial 1: - HIGHLAND HILL stepped quickly to find the lead and rolled along at a genuine tempo throughout the entire trial to post an impressive victory. ENFORCE THE LAW started from a big handicap and settled down last of the seven runners. He was approximately 60m behind the leader at the mile marker and moved away from the pegs to chase from the 1300m mark. He produced an excellent trial performance to finish a clear second. ITZ GAZADANGERWOOD (Badboytruscott – Justcallmespecial 2.3.6, $18,075) trailed the tearaway leader and was holding on well until galloping on the home turn. He lost about 20m but he was so far in front of the others, he was able to hold down third position. MORGAN MYLEE started back with ENFORCE THE LAW and settled down in sixth position. She moved away from the inside from the 500m but was a mile behind the leaders at the time and ran into a distant fourth. PATCHWORK was three back on the inside and left the markers with 500m to run. She finished fifth ahead of SHEZA PLEASURE (Bacardi Lindy – Sheza Comment) (4 back markers) and STICK WITH ME (5 back markers).

BLACKBOOKER: - Highland Hill

Trial 2: - VIVA LA ROCK (Rock N Roll Heaven – Viva La Rena) was three back on the markers for the majority of the trial and was able to punch through along the sprint lane to claim the prize. EMRITES showed very good gate speed to lead and set up a slow tempo. He kicked on in the straight to go down narrowly. CASHFLOW CASSIE (Artsplace – A Few Dollars More 1.57.4, $4,088) trailed the leader and came to the outside on the home bend. She went a little awkwardly around the final corner when angling out wider but she fought on well in the straight. CAPTAIN DORIAN (Captain Treacherous – Spirited Storm USA 1.59.1, $3435) is related to many good winners including The Storm Inside, Firestorm Red and Stormed Out. He was out for a stroll, settling down last and never being extended at any stage.

Trial 3: - AMERICAN SWEETHART was an impressive winner of the third trial. She began quickly from barrier six and stormed across the face of the field to lead then proceeded in running along at a genuine tempo. She ran her rivals off their legs and won by a big margin. FINAL CATEGORY trailed the leader from the pole position and held down second ahead of WELL WELL, which settled four back on the markers before moving into the breeze at the 500m mark. ENCRYPTION was without cover early before easing to be seventh on the markers. He picked up ground in the last lap to finish fourth. WINNING GRIN settled three back on the markers and finished fifth ahead of ASTERISM (six back markers, away from inside at 700m) and MISSMETRO (last markers). ARGY BARGY finished last after setting five back on the markers and breaking stride with 300m remaining.

BLACKBOOKER: - American Sweethart

Trial 4: - EVERYSECONDCOUNTS was able to slot in behind the leader on the first turn and produced a good finish to win the trial comfortably. The eye-catching trial performance came from the juvenile trotter SENITAS STRENGTH (Muscle Mass – Senita). She is a close relation to the classy trotter Senitas Success and stems from a strong maternal family. She settled last of the three runners, switched back to the sprint lane and accelerated beautifully late. MAJESTIC SPEED dropped back to last in the straight after setting up a slow tempo in the early stages of the trial.

BLACKBOOKER: - Senitas Strength

Trial 5: - FLAMIN ALICE (Courage Under Fire – Kaleigh) is only small in stature but she has a bit of a motor and was able to come from last at the 500m mark to fire down the outside and win the trial comfortably. ARTMANIA was three back on the markers early before moving into the one out and one back trail mid-race. She made her move turning out of the back straight and joined the leaders on the home turn but couldn’t repel the challenge of FLAMIN ALICE. HOT WIRE (Village Jolt – Hot To Trot Lombo 2.2.0, $26,800) was one out and one back early before moving around the field to lead from the 1800m post. She raced greenly in the lead but held down third in front of BENATAR, which settled four back on the markers and made up late ground. VILLANELLE led early before taking a trail and was fifth in front of MIDNIGHT WHISPER (Art Major – Whisper Jet 1.55.5, $110,426) (1-2) and AMARANDA (fifth markers, raced keenly). RAMBLEON (Blissfull Hall – Cheryls Fancy) began quickly out wide on the track but raced roughly and wanted to hang out, which cost him a chance of finding the lead. He then pulled hard when without cover so he did do a bit wrong in the trial. The early effort took a toll and he began to yield ground with 500m remaining.

Trial 6: - JULIACA began quickly out wide on the track and found the lead shortly after the start. She enjoyed a good run throughout and was able to cling on and win. WILLIE GO WEST should have won the trial easily and is worth following. He settled six back on the markers, moved into the one out and one back trail but a distance away from the leader in the back straight then ran into a dead end before switching back to the inside and flying late. He went to the line under a hard hold. EMERGING TALENT settled down four back on the markers before moving up without cover with 700m remaining. She finished third in front of FULLOFMISCHIEF (Major Bronski – Miss Jules 2.2.8, $16,032), which used the sprint lane after trailing the leader. The leading quartet drew clear of the others, which were headed by PAYUP ORLEAVE (Live Or Die – Orta Be Ruthless 1.59.2, $87,540) (five back markers). MIDNIGHT CALM (Shadow Play – Prospensity 1.59.7, $2,585) settled three back on the markers and beat home RIVIERA ROSE (Four Starzzz Shark – Diamond Over 1.59.3, $43,840) (seven back markers) and KYVALLEY CHARLIE (Andover Hall – Kyvalley Kitty) (eight back markers).

BLACKBOOKER: - Willie Go West

Trial 7: - HEREHECOMES was able to lead throughout and score by a large margin. He ran along at a genuine tempo so it was a good display. SOFALA trailed the winner throughout and finished second in front of SIRLETIC, which went to the line behind SOFALA hard held with his ears pricked for a nice third. He never peeled to the outside at any stage. PIRATE BAY put on a performance at the start, galloping badly, switching course and ending up on the infield. He was well and truly out of play after that.

KILMORE 14/04/20

Trial 1: - WHOS THE MAN (Angus Hall – Oh Yes Indeed 2.5.2, $57,750) is a nicely bred juvenile trotter, which settled three back on the inside and proved to have the superior manners and ability on the day, winning by a large margin. JAUNTY JAY JAY (Muscle Mass – Jaurdon) settled four back on the markers and ran into second ahead of LIFEINTHEBALANCE (Grinfromeartoear – Artistic Wings), which galloped at the start and lost approximately 60m. LUNA (Used To Me – Auravalley) led but galloped on the home turn and lost her winning chance, ending up finishing fourth. ASTRO (Love You – Auravale 2.8.2, $30,650) galloped at the 1500m mark when three back on the markers and lost 40m early before galloping again at the bell. He beat home ARCHAIC (Andover Hall – Closetomyheart 2.4.2, $18,040), which also made several errors, shortly after the start and again at the bell lap.

Trial 2: - INTO THE UNKNOWN began brilliantly from the handicap of 40m and shot to a big lead before the first turn! She ran along at a very genuine tempo and set up a lead of approximately 80-100m at one stage of the trial and never appeared to be in any danger of defeat. Her lead margin was cut back in the final stages but she did the damage mid-race. MANOS DE DIOS was in front briefly before being overtaken by INTO THE UNKNOWN. He was second for the remainder of the journey in front of ERO CARPE DIEM. CHRISKEN KIOSK was on his worst behaviour again at the trials after making errors at Cranbourne a few days earlier and finished a tailed off last.

Trial 3: - MAESTRO (Love You – La Tonneralla) led throughout and took out the trial comfortably from KYVALLEY HIPHOP (Love You – Miss Adelade 2.0.0, $113,838), which trailed and came to the outside with 300m remaining. FAIRFIELD FLYER settled four back on the inside and was making up late ground for third position. IMASOCIALBUTTERFLY (Muscle Mass – Diedre Deville 2.3.0, $4,643) settled three back on the inside and finished in front of RYMES (Majestic Son – Genayas Girl), which was last throughout and lost ground when trotting roughly in the back straight on the final occasion.

Trial 4: - ASANTE SANA (Courage Under Fire – Braeview Creation 1.59.0, $53,000) settled three back on the inside before moving into the one out and one back trail and moved out three horses wide on the home bend. She hit the lead in the straight and was able to hold off the late challenge of STIR ME UP. STIR ME UP (Auckland Reactor – Magical Sue) produced a good performance to finish second. He broke stride in the score up and missed the start by 15m, settled sixth on the markers and came out very wide on the home turn before finishing off strongly. HOLI STARZZZ (Four Starzzz Shark – Paintball 1.54.4, $100,508) trailed the leader before moving up without cover from the 700m mark. She finished in third position ahead of ANAHITA (Somebeachsomewhere – Arterial Way 1.55.8, $37,258), which settled five back on the markers. Trial 5: - ENCHANTED STRIDE settled three back on the markers before moving up without cover from the 500m pole and was able to draw to the lead in the straight, winning with plenty in reserve. STARLIGHT SAFARI tried to lead throughout and finished second just in front of SUNROSE MASTER, which trailed and used the sprint lane. PICK UP LINE settled six back on the markers and moved away from the inside with 600m remaining. She was picking up ground over the latter stages without being extended. HOLLYS MISS MOLLY settled five back on the markers before moving into the running lane (1-2) and finished fifth ahead of MY MACH SCOOTER (four back markers).

Trial 6: - OUR KINGS LANDING is a smart former New Zealand trotter, which is now being prepared by trainer Brent Lilley and created a big impression in winning his trial. He produced a booming finish out wide on the track from last to win. CHATEAUBRIANT was a nice run in second position. He ran to the lead shortly after the start and rolled along at a good tempo. He had a leading margin of approximately 20m at the half mile marker and was still nicely clear on the turn before being gunned down late. KHEIRON settled down three back on the markers and moved into the breeze at the 550m, finishing in third position ahead of EMERALD STRIDE, which trailed the leader throughout.

Trial 7: - MARNI WHITE showed brilliant gate speed to lead easily from barrier seven. She was then able to back off the tempo mid-race and produced a good kick at the end to win by a large margin. PEPPERBERRY (Major Bronski – Rock Melody 2.2.6, $19,300) trailed the leader throughout and finished in second position ahead of CONSTANTINA, which settled fifth on the markers, moved into the running lane (1-2) then switched back to the inside approaching the home turn and using the sprint lane. MALALLA settled three back on the markers before moving into the one out and one back trail at the bell. She moved out three horses wide from the 700m mark and boxed on fairly for fourth. CALYPSO MISTRESS settled down a clear last and finished fifth ahead of JAZZY BAY (Heston Blue Chip – Jazzy Art 1.57.4, $62,763), which broke at the start and lost fifteen metres before moving up without cover, racing roughly and yielding ground from the 500m. HESABEACHBOY (Sunshine Beach – Bella Belucci) settled down sixth on the markers and was on a loose rein a long way from home.

Trial 8: - HADES SKY began very quickly to lead in the early stages of the event. She set up a slow tempo and was able to hold a good lead down the home straight. TETRA was three back on the markers before COMANDANTE galloped from behind the leader at the 1200m, which allowed her go through into the trailing position. She had her chance in the straight but held down second and was well clear of MAORI MAYHEM (Pegasus Spur – Happy Maori 1.59.6, $89,365), which ended up being three back on the markers with 1200m remaining. BENJI HALL (Angus Hall – Maori Vale 1.59.5, $35,615) settled last on the markers and beat COMANDANTE to the line. COMANDANTE did a lot of different things in the trial. He broke in the score up, trailed the leader, galloped and lost 30m at the 1200m, moved up without cover from the 800m, joined the leader approaching the home turn, raced roughly and galloped again. Trial 9: - MAJOR NORTIE (Major Bronski – Nice But Naughty 2.2.3, $6,825) showed good gate speed to find the front and was able to lead throughout and get the prize from MISS TYLER (Well Said – Fine Exception 1.59.9, $6,425), which gained a nice run in the trail. JO ROCKS (Pet Rock – Our Ruby Banner 1.54.0, $101,040) settled three back on the inside, moved up without cover from the 700m mark and finished third in front of LE BELLE BIJOUX (Art Major – Bellas Delight 1.54.3, $442,523), which settled down last, came out wide on the turn and galloped with 100m remaining when she was trying to make up some ground.

Trial 10: - The smart juvenile trotter ALDEBARAN ZEUS was impressive again as he trailed the leader early before being left in front at the 1100m and drawing well clear in the run to the finish. KYVALLEYHONEYBUNNY (Skyvalley – Kyvalley Café) trailed ALDEBARAN ZEUS and was holding on gamely until the final 150m while FLYIN FIRST CLASS tailed out after galloping when in front with 1100m remaining.

Trial 11: - GOOD COP trailed the leader SAFE JEWELS in a slow tempo and was able to accelerate via the sprint lane to grab that filly on the line. MAGICAL MOVER settled five back on the markers before moving up without cover with 1200m remaining. He battled on well for a close up third. TRADE WHISPERS finished a distant fourth after galloping at the start and settling down in sixth position then pulling hard mid-race. INSHADOW (Shadow Play – Gaelic Way) settled three back on the markers and finished fifth ahead of QUIETACHIEVER (Bettors Delight – Artistic Dancer) (last on the markers) and ZOE MICHELLE (Shadow Play – Whatareyouwearin 2.0.9, $13,644) (four back markers).

Trial 1: - SURPRISE TO ME was formerly prepared by trainer Damien Burns and started his career nicely with two placed performances. He is now with mentor Ricky Ryan and was able to step to the front from the standing start to win the opening trial in style. TIMELY INVASION                (I’m Stately – Marama’s Invasion 2.5.5, $28,351) settled four back on the markers and was able to get into second position in the home straight when two of the three horses in front of him broke stride. HAMMERS PEGASUS (Pegasus Spur – Sundonna) was three back on the markers and broke stride when TENNERSON (Skyvalley – Poet Laureate 2.5.7, $44,598), which trailed the leader, galloped in front of him with 150m remaining. He managed to get down trotting in time to finish third. OVERANDOUT (Majestic Son – Coruscating 2.7.7, $11,440) was last on the markers throughout and was detached from the pack in the back straight on the final occasion but was able to work past TENNERSON in the straight.

Trial 2: - KAUDO settled down three back on the markers, got into trouble momentarily on the home turn but lifted in the straight and flashed home to win an interesting trial where most competing made an error at some stage. DARING ANGEL trailed the leader and also made a slight error on the home turn before recovering. She found the lead in the straight when the leader ME PAT MALONE galloped and swung out wide on the track but she couldn’t repel the fast finish of KAUDO over the latter stages. CLASSICAL SPIDER (Yankee Spider – Classical Linda) settled four back on the markers and lost ground on the pack in the last lap. EXOTIC BOUCHEA began okay but galloped approximately 150m after the start and was a distant second last. ROI DU SOLEIL (Danny Bouchea – Rockin Wilma 2.2.9, $59,390) galloped away and was tailed off throughout.

Trial 3: - TUPPENCE (Sir Lincoln (Lincoln Royal) – Star Crossed 1.56.2, $46,847) was able to run to the front shortly after the start and was always in control. He was untouched going down to the line and scored easily. The trotter CARGERIE settled three back on the inside and continued to follow the markers throughout, working into second in the home straight. SEACHANGE (A Rocknroll Dance – Seaside Beauty 1.55.7, $27,900) settled four back on the markers and went to move away from the inside with 900m. She wanted to hang in badly but eventually worked into the one out and one back trail in the back straight before angling wider turning for home. She finished third in front of MAJOR MISCHIEF (Major In Art – Zolong 2.2.1, $24,504), which settled down last and picked up some ground. MERRY DANCER (Changeover – Lucky Merrywood 1.58.4, $51,128) trailed the leader before moving into the breeze at the 600m mark and finished fifth. ALAKAZAM (Well Said – Mumbai Majik 1.59.2, $20,727) took no part after having tyre problems in the score up.

Trial 4: - PLATINUM SPARKLE (Bettors Delight – Bollinger Baby 1.56.0, $67,256) is a nicely bred filly for trainer Emma Stewart and won impressively. She led early, took a trail and with several leader changes, ended up being four back on the inside before moving away from the markers at the 600m mark and asserting her superiority late. ALAKAZAM went around in the fourth trial after having a flat tyre in the score up in trial three. She galloped momentarily at the start and was last before moving into the one line and was the last horse in a succession of leaders to find the front running role. She finished in front of SWINGWITHSIERRA (Art Major – Sierra Tango 2.0.7, $26,475) (5 back markers) and SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (Somebeachsomewhere – Special Moment 1.58.0, $72,511) was last of the six runners throughout.

Trial 5: - BEAUTIFUL WOMAN (Art Major – Kabbalah Karen B 1.52.4, $285,098) settled behind the leader, moved around to find the front at the 1400m and took cover shortly afterwards. She came to the outside on the home turn and dashed to a big victory. FLOAT ON BY settled in third position before moving around the field to find the front at the 1200m mark. He gave a kick on the turn but BEAUTIFUL WOMAN was too quick in the dash up the straight. UNETHICAL (Four Starzzz Shark – Notfitforsale) led early, then took cover and was shuffled back on the markers to be three back. She finished a distant third ahead of HOWS THE SERENITY (Barna Straide – Blissfull Bird 1.57.3, $20,038), which left a trailing position in fourth to move up without cover at the 700m and she got up to second at the quarter pole before dropping out. BREATHE EASY (Live Or Die – Ayr Affair 2.2.1, $4,376) was last of the five runners throughout.

Trial 6: - IMA DENNY TOO settled down four back on the markers before angling into the one out and one back trail behind UPTONGIRL and followed that mare throughout the last lap. He came to the outside on the home turn and was able to scoot clear, seemingly with plenty in reserve. UPTONGIRL was a good effort in running second. She settled six back on the markers early, came to the outside at the 1200m and did plenty of chasing in the final three quarters of the event. PRELIMINARY trail the leader MYPARIS (Mr Feelgood – Eden Bromac), moved to the outside with 600m remaining and quickly swept to the lead before being run down late. MAJOR HAYHEM settled three back on the inside and finished fourth ahead of the early leader MYPARIS, which pulled extremely hard and established a big lead in the first lap before getting tired. STARZZ IN DISGUISE was five back on the markers throughout and finished ahead of ARCTIC WIND (Roll With Joe – Windchill), which remained at the tail of the field.

Trial 7: - AUCKLAND RED settled last of the three, moved through to trail the leader at the bell and sliced through the middle late to win the trial easily. VALLEY OF TERROR angled in behind the leader but became very fierce and moved into the death seat at the bell. He put some pressure on the leader MEGAFELLA in the back straight and finally got the better of him in the final 50m but AUCKLAND RED had the easier run in transit.

Trial 8: - LIKE A WILDFIRE settled last of the three runners, moved up without cover from the 600m mark and was just able to get the better of the early leader ROCKNROLL RONNIE to claim victory on the line. JACKS COMMAND trailed the leader throughout and didn’t really come to the outside to gain a clear passage in the straight but with the last quarter being quick at 27.7 seconds, he may not have finished too much closer.

Trial 9: - It was the same two horses that contested the last trial that took part in the final trial at the last program of trials at Ballarat with the star pacer POSTER BOY proving much too good for the handily performed Metropolitan pacer DEEDENUTO. The result was the same, the positions in the run were different as POSTER BOY strolled to the lead early. His last half was run in a sensational 53.8 seconds (26.0 quarter).
