With only three weeks until the $300,000 Pryde's EasiFeed Victoria Cup it’s time for some of Australasia’s most decorated pacers to step things up a notch.

And this Saturday’s TAB Gammalite Free For All is a prime opportunity for a trio of stars.

LOCHINVAR ART is in search of his first victory since his 2021 Del-Re National A G Hunter Cup success and appears to get his best opportunity to break through.

With Leigh Sutton aboard for the first time, the six-year-old entire has had two runs under his belt this preparation with mixed results, including a last-start failure when well beaten.

A subsequent lung infection gave reasoning for that below par performance and with a perfect draw of five and his major rivals drawn to disadvantage, he looks primed to find the fence and get his chance.

COPY THAT was involved from the start in a brutally run VHRC Caduceus Classic last week before succumbing to the pressure late for a fading rearward performance. The fact that he backs up only a week later is a solid suggestion that the Kiwi has pulled up very well from only his second run since injury and will be improved.

Nathan Jack has committed to the travelling Ray Green team and will again be at the controls.

When it comes to BONDI LOCKDOWN, things haven’t exactly got to plan for him either since his remarkable Chariots Of Fire second placing.

His effort in defeat in the marquee four-year-old classic will go down as one of the more sensational performances so far at the Menangle circuit, but he has only been seen twice since.

His Miracle Mile failure sent him to the paddock, while a one run July campaign also resulted in a slightly below par performance by his lofty standards.  Despite his outside gate, he currently shares $2.50 TAB favouritism alongside Lochinvar Art with Copy That only a breath behind them at $2.90.

Australian harness racing has another million-dollar contest and its only seven months away.

A part of the ‘Western Trilogy’ launched yesterday by RWWA, The Nullabor will be the first slot style race run in Australian harness racing when it takes place in April 2023.

To be run for pacers three years of age and older, Gloucester Park will hold the $1,000,000 event on April 14 over 2536 metres.

Ten starters will make up the field with each slot valued at $70,000 (plus GST) and expressions of interest for these are already open.

While feature race calendars for next year are yet to be released, it looks likely that the positioning of this new race will work favourably for interstate interest.

With the Miracle Mile run in early March, it gives ample opportunity for the Eastern States Grand Circuit stars to make their way across and is also well clear of the ever-popular Queensland Winter.

Slot applications will close on October 26 with the 10 successful applicants announced on November 7.

It’s an exciting time for Western Australian harness racing with a jam-packed spring and summer already underway, boasting a myriad of Group 1 features including a pair of $215,000 two-year-old Westbred Classic finals tonight.

After a COVID enforced hiatus, the Australian Drivers Championships will make an awaited return at Globe Derby tomorrow night.

It's not been run since Gary Hall Jnr’s victory in the Tasmanian 2019 edition and again the defending champion will represent Western Australia alongside extremely talented young talent Emily Suvaljko.

Two representatives from each state, including Kate Gath and James Herbertson for Victoria, will descend upon Adelaide to take part in the 11-race series, which will span the entire card.

You can cheer your favourite driver home on Sky Racing Active with extended coverage all night long live from Globe Derby.
