The most favoured horses on Sulky.App are calculated by utilising statistics, including horse-specific sectional data as well as race and driver statistics with a variety of likely speed maps.

The following eight horses are the most favoured horses on Sulky.App in each race this Friday night at Geelong.

These horses may not be the best rated sectionally, but the speed map likely works in their favour and against the better rated horses.

RACE 1

BEST: ALAMO (seven)

First-up after a short break. A lightly-raced gelding having had only four previous starts. The sectionals from his first start suggest he has ability and very strong gate speed. He may go back from the wide barrier at the start as he is fresh, but he should be good enough to be in the finish.

PLACE SELECTIONS

MYSHANIA (one)

GIVE DAVE A WAVE (eight)

MAGICAFTERMIDNIGHT (two)

RACE 2

BEST: MICTON MOUSE (five)

A strong sectional performer. He will likely have to race in the chair or 1-1 as he does not have the gate speed to find the front. He may still be too good over the short trip.

PLACE SELECTIONS

RUBY WINGATE (11)

RIVER PATROL (three)

ALBALOU (eight)

RACE 3

BEST: OFF YOUR FACESKI (two)

This is the best barrier Off Your Faceski has seen for a while. He has strong recent sectional performances when he does everything right. This race is full of horses with bad manners, so if he does not gallop in the run, he is a strong winning chance.

PLACE SELECTIONS

ALWAYS SKYE HIGH (five)

AGAINST THE BRIDLE (eight)

DA PREZ (one)

RACE 4

BEST: SURFE LA MER (three)

The first-up run from Surfe La Mer was impressive sectionally. Likely to improve from her first start. Gate speed is undetermined for this runner, but it may still find the front then be too difficult to run down.

PLACE SELECTIONS

FORTY LOVE (four)

MAJOR CRUNCH (six)

MOONIE RIVER (eight)

RACE 5

BEST: FANCY FREE (six)

Fancy Free is a consistent horse sectionally and comes up against talented horses with queries. Andrew is the best rated sectionally but has a poor barrier and is first-up. Similarly, Chappy Streetnorth and Wingate Guy are strong performers likely to get into awkward positions.

PLACE SELECTIONS

CHAPPY STREETNORTH (11)

ANDREW (seven)

WINDGATE GUY (eight)

RACE 6

BEST: BE THE ONE (one)

If Be The One leads, she will likely be in the finish given the great recent sectional performances. Luna Dream would be her biggest threat on her back.  However, Be The One is at risk of being crossed by Marianna Bromac, who has great gate speed. Marianna Bromac leading brings Shes A Tiny Dancer and Our Kinky Boots into the finish with their great swooper speed.

PLACE SELECTIONS

LUNA DREAM (eight)

SHES A TINY DANCER (10)

OUR KINKY BOOTS (nine)

RACE 7

BEST: LOTAKEVI (three)

Lokakevi is an older horse who is finding good form of late and performing very well sectionally. He’s a persistent gate speed horse who may find the front and be hard to beat.

PLACE SELECTIONS

ETIZ AMODEL (two)

JUDES DUDE (11)

DIEGOS DIAMOND (nine)

RACE 8

BEST: WISH UPONA DREAM (eight)

Wish Upona Dream has the best recent sectionals in this event. She’s a well-mannered mare who only has to contest a 10m handicap. Being the third and final horse on the 10m line, she has space to get away safely and find a good position to allow her to be a strong chance late.

PLACE SELECTIONS

MIELICKI (one)

DELS DESTINY (two)

MAESTRO (seven)

RACE 9

BEST: NO REMORSE (two)

No Remorse is the strongest horse sectionally in this event on exposed form. If he does everything right, he should find a good position and be hard to beat. However, there’s two Volstead-sired first-starters in this event in Keayang Lavita and Cascata who are likely to be strong contenders.

PLACE SELECTIONS

KEAYANG LAVITA (seven)

CASCATA (one)

JACK SPRAT (five)
