The most favoured horses on Sulky.App are calculated by utilising statistics, including horse-specific sectional data as well as race and driver statistics with a variety of likely speed maps.

The following 10 horses are the most favoured horses on Sulky.App in each race this Saturday night at Melton.

RACE 1

CURLY JAMES (1) has the best gate speed and great recent sectional performances from both this preparation and the end of his last preparation. Regardless of if he holds the front or takes a sit, he won’t be covering extra distance as he will be racing on the fence. He should be right in the finish.

SELECTIONS: CURLY JAMES (1), KOSIMO (5), MACH DAN (11), HEZA SON OF AGUN (9)

RACE 2

ALDEBARAN VERA (2) has consistent strong sectional ratings when she does everything right. She may not find the front, but she also has the fastest quarter speed in this field. If she doesn’t gallop and stays near the front of the field, she’s a big winning chance.

SELECTIONS: ALDEBARAN VERA (2), EBONYS AVENGER (1), SHES RUBY ROO (9), REVELSTOKE (8)

RACE 3

OPERATIVE LINE (3) has the best barrier out of the runners with fast recent sectionals times. His gate speed is 0.7 lengths faster than Niki Nah Nah, so he possibly will be able to find the front but Niki Nah Nah does have enough speed to kick up if she wants to. Regardless, Operative Line will be near the front of the field, and this looks to be his race.

SELECTIONS: OPERATIVE LINE (3), FIRST DANCE (4), FINAL COLLECT (9), JILLIBYJACKSPARROW (11)

RACE 4

SOME AMERICAN (7) best recent sectional performance is at least 2.6 seconds faster than the recent best of all the other horses on the front line. He should be able to work his way to the front and then be too hard to run down.

SELECTIONS: SOME AMERICAN (7), SMOKEN ACE (9), SOHO HONEY RIDER (8), MISS IDAHO (11)

RACE 5

OUR SAYDIE KAY (5) is a classy, lightly raced filly who will be relying on luck in this field, but she may still prove too strong. Cheerstolou (3) has enough gate speed to cross to the front. If this happens then it’s likely to hand up the front to Our Saydie Kay. This will make it very tough for the rest of the field to get close to her.

SELECTIONS: OUR SAYDIE KAY (5), CHEERSTOLOU (3), EXOTIC BUSHRANGER (12), BLASTER RANGER (2)

RACE 6

HESALLMUSCLE (5) was very impressive last preparation in the Great Southern Star. His personal sectional times in the heat and final of the GSS are faster than the recent sectional performances of the rest of this field. His fitness is the query as he is first-up, but he looks to be the classiest runner.

SELECTIONS: HESALLMUSCLE (5), HEPHAESTUS PHOENIX (3), MERCENARY (4), HARRY STAMPER (9)

RACE 7

IMPERIAL MONARCH (12) faces a poor barrier, but he is racing in career best form. He looks to be an exciting horse for the future. His recent best sectional performance is at least one second faster than the rest of this fields recent best.

SELECTIONS: IMPERIAL MONARCH (12), TWEEDLEDEE (9), WATTS UP PARTYTIME (6), WHOS THE MAN (2)

RACE 8

CAPTAINS CATCH (12) is a classy New South Wales-based pacer looking to leave his mark at Melton. When comparing his sectionals to the locals he’s notably racing faster times than the rest of this field.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAINS CATCH (12), NOSWEETSFORYOU (5), WOW YOU CAN DANCE (9), HITTHEROADJACK (13)

RACE 9

MORE WANTED (10) recent sectionals performances on average are at least a second faster than the rest of this field. Looks to be a good race for him.

SELECTIONS: MORE WANTED (10), VICI BLOOM (12), OLD VILLA BOY (6), SUNSUP (7)

RACE 10

CRIME WRITER (1) finally has found a good barrier. A very even race sectionally, so the race map is key. Regardless if Crime Writer leads or hands up, he will be in a good position.

SELECTIONS: CRIME WRITER (1), ALBY TWO CHAINS (2), JOHN MCLEAN (3), HEAVENLY CHARM (8)
