Morning start for Horsham’s Cup meeting on Monday

Monday’s feature meeting in Horsham has been brought forward due to the expected high temperatures in the region.

The Bureau of Meteorology is tipping a top of 38 degrees on Labour Day, prompting Harness Racing Victoria to start the races in the morning to bring about an earlier finish in the afternoon.

Monday’s eight-race card is now scheduled to start at 11.02am, with the last event set down for 2.53pm.

The Woodlands Stud Horsham Trotters Cup is at 1.43pm and the Weekly Advertiser Horsham Pacing Cup at 2.18pm.

HRV will continue to monitor forecasts and fire danger ratings across the state, and advice from the Victorian Government and agencies such as the Country Fire Authority and Vic Emergencies, before making any further determinations on meetings across the long weekend period.
