Big TAB punter happy after Kingman wins at $1.04

One punter was happy to risk a lot to win just a little at the Bendigo harness racing meeting on Wednesday last week.

The TAB customer whacked $8000 on Emma Stewart’s handy two-year-old Kingman at the rock bottom price of $1.04 before his easy victory in the Forty Winks 2YO Maiden Pace.

The result? A total profit of $320.

Another TAB punter copped a tough beat when their $5000 win bet on Markleigh Caz at $6.50 went under on July 16.

The Michael Gadsden-trained nine-year-old mare was badly held up in the final lap at Stawell and flashed home late to grab third, beaten 2.6m.

Below are some of the big bets taken by the TAB on Victorian harness racing last week.

It was a day to remember for Aaron Dunn. Not only did he go back-to-back from last year to this year in the Matthews Petroleum Hamilton Pacing Cup, he also trained the quinella, with Forty Love taking the honours and last year’s winner Dee Roe finishing second, driven by Jackie Barker.

While the ink is far from dry on the $500,000 Summer Of Glory bonus cheque, superstar mare Keayang Zahara is on track to provide her connections with a windfall after her effortless win in the Group 1 $100,000 Aldebaran Park Maori Mile.
