National ratings: HRV updates industry

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) General Manager of Racing Stephen Bell today reaffirmed HRV’s commitment to being “upfront and transparent with participants” regarding the national ratings based handicapping system, which the industry nationally has committed to from July 1.

Mr Bell told HRV’s Trots Media, “We need to get as much information out as possible about this exciting initiative that’s going to hit Australia wide. It’s really important for the trainers, owners and all the participants out there to know exactly what’s happening with the new system when it comes out to play on the first of July.”

HRV today released a document (view it here) explaining in detail the rationale behind the current ratings, which have been visible since May 1.
