The pacing priest, Father Brian Glasheen, has shared his story in a wide-ranging chat with Paul Campbell for Tooth Be Told, a Harness Racing Victoria ‘Trots Media’ podcast.
“I’ve been very lucky, I’ve seen the best,” Father Glasheen said in a chat that spoke of trots marriages, “painful” trots funerals, his family’s trots origins and blessing champions of the sport.
“I saw Gordon Rothacker, who was the prince of the Showgrounds, I saw George Gath, who was the best driver of squaregaiters I have ever seen,” he said. “I’ve had a great life in trotting. Met a lot of people and made a lot of friends.”
