Cash will flow into country sporting clubs' coffers and new friends of the trots have been warmly welcomed through the inaugural Good Form Grassroots Gold program, which is driving towards a $10,000 pay day.

A Harness Racing Victoria and TAB.com.au partnership, the program has invested a $500 Good Form Game Plan on this season's trots country cups, with winnings benefitting local sporting clubs.

The smiles were particularly broad at The Weekly Advertiser Horsham Pacing Cup, when Good Form analyst Blake Redden transformed the $500 game plan into a $1447.10 windfall for Laharum Football-Netball Club.

An additional $1500 Good Form Grassroots Gold Big Bet will be held at this Saturday's Mildura Cup, with winnings to be shared among the 25 partner clubs.

Andrew English, Harness Racing Victoria's General Manager – Marketing, said the initiative had fostered great partnerships with trots clubs and other local sporting teams, drawing new and old faces to country cups.

"These clubs are all struggling for funds and they are looking for ways to raise money, and what better way to do it than get a group of your mates together and head down to the trots," Mr English told RSN 927's One Out One Back. "We are doing all the hard work and they get the benefits."

He said the Grassroots Good Form Gold initiative was also providing a punting education.

"(Punters) do need to attack the trots from a slightly different angle," he said. "Our form experts are using our Good Form game plans ... which is how we empower punters to really make informed decisions about how to wager and how to attack the punt."
