World Champion reinsman Jody Jamieson has given some unique insights into the trots landscape in Victoria and beyond in a deep-dive interview for Trots Media’s Tooth Be Told podcast.
Host Paul Campbell enjoyed a free-flowing chat with the Canadian driver at Bendigo’s Lords Raceway, including his experiences in the sulky this TAB Inter Dominion series.
“A young fella asked me the other day in Ballarat: ‘How do you like the racing here in Australia?'” Jamieson said. “And I said, ‘I love it’. I love being here and love the racing.”
Told by his young inquistor “you have to drive with a lot more strategy”, Jamieson said he was initialy taken aback.
“And then I thought, you know what, you are right. It’s a ton of strategy, you can’t blast the gate and decide what you are going to do after. It’s a lot of strategy, and that’s something I’ve embraced and got better at.”
