Craig Rail has your tips, strategy and Quaddie for Friday afternoon at Mildura

Race 1:
OVERVIEW: HEZ SO ROYAL (6) was resuming since December when he was finishing off nicely for third behind GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7) at Mildura two weeks ago. He should strip fitter from that performance and was a multiple feature race winner in South Australia last season so he should prove hard to beat. GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7) is a genuine sprinter, which trailed the leader and scored on June 19 then finished stylishly for second behind Sportsbou last week. She has the perfect trailing draw behind the likely leader MANINKY MOONSHINE (1) so she must be considered as a winning chance. MANINKY MOONSHINE (1) began very quickly to find the lead and raced keenly thereafter when a creditable fifth at Mildura last outing. He is perfectly drawn and must be included amongst the leading chances. THEBUCKSONYOU (4) trailed the leader and finished off best two starts ago then followed with a close up third behind Wipeout last week. He has returned to his peak form over the past two weeks and is worth a ticket each way.

BACK: HEZ SO ROYAL (6) – 1 unit (win)
SELECTIONS: HEZ SO ROYAL (6), GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7), MANINKY MOONSHINE (1), THEBUCKSONYOU (4)
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: PRIORITISE (7) was taken to Melton for a shot at Metropolitan racing on May 02 and did well for third. He has been placed in three Mildura assignments since and his latest victory was dominant as he raced away from a good field to score by over ten metres. He drops back to the second line now but he should go well again. DALLAS MIKI (6) returned to his best form when he began very quickly from a wide draw to find the front and ran along at a genuine tempo when he scored at Mildura on June 19. He is a tough competitor and is sure to make his presence felt. TOUGH AINT ENOUGH (2) finished off well for third behind DALLAS MIKI (6) last outing and will appreciate his best draw for some time. ROYAL SAXON (3) blitzed his rivals last outing and might be able to take the next step forward while ALL DA RAGE (4) is capable of showing up if he puts his best foot forward.
SELECTIONS: PRIORITISE (7), DALLAS MIKI (6), TOUGH AINT ENOUGH (2), ROYAL SAXON (3)
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: SWEET LUCY LOU (4) commenced from the outside of the second line in a big field last week and couldn’t work into the race. Her form prior was sound and she appears to be better suited under these conditions so she is worth another chance. MAXI ANGEL (3) settled three back on the markers and was doing his best work late when second behind Ima Rocket Man last outing. He has been promising a win for some time and should go well again. COME ON BILLEE (2) is a nicely bred South Australian trained pacer, which has been placed in four of his eight starts to date and strikes a suitable assignment for his Mildura debut. He is worth thought and NO GOOD REASON (1) is capable of showing improvement over the sprint distance.

BACK: SWEET LUCY LOU (4) – 1.5 units (each way)
SELECTIONS: SWEET LUCY LOU (4), MAXI ANGEL (3), COME ON BILLEE (2), NO GOOD REASON (1)
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: MISS NASHVILLE (3) is a 3yo filly by Poster Boy, which is making her debut for South Australian trainer Ryan Hryhorec. She comfortably won a trial at Globe Derby last week and recorded a slick last quarter of 28.3 seconds so she must be respected. ROYAL ROCKSTAR (5) was resuming since December when he attempted to lead throughout and battled on well for third at Horsham. He should be fitter from that run and this race is no harder so he is worth following. MY ULTIMATE HENRY (1) is an interesting runner. He is a former New South Wales trained juvenile, which competed during the Bathurst Gold Crown Carnival then followed with a fourth at Newcastle. He is ideally drawn and the sprint distance will suit so he cannot be left out of calculations. SANTA CASA LEVI (2) and THE NINJA (4) both possess early speed and have shown enough ability to break their Maiden status so they are not without a chance.
SELECTIONS: MISS NASHVILLE (3), ROYAL ROCKSTAR (5), MY ULTIMATE HENRY (1), SANTA CASA LEVI (2)
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: CHEERS POVERTY (1) gains his best draw for a long time and he performs best when he is able to lead so a better showing is expected. He gained a trail just off the speed and battled on fairly well for third behind She’s Poppy last week. JUST INCREDIBLE (9) didn’t perform up to expectations ($2-40 fav) at his first run for trainer Alex Ashwood but he was trying to sustain a long run from last at the bell and his form prior was against much stronger opposition so he is worth another chance. STARVIN MARVIN (5) is poorly drawn but he has been competitive at a higher level previously and he does appear to be a value hope. CALF PEN (10) should be finding the line nicely and FLAME BLASTER (7) could improve on his numerical form courtesy of the perfect trailing draw behind the likely leader CHEERS POVERTY (1).

BACK: CHEERS POVERTY (1) – 1.5 units (each way)
SELECTIONS: CHEERS POVERTY (1), JUST INCREDIBLE (9), STARVIN MARVIN (5), CALF PEN (10)
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: SNEAKY PHILTRA (5) was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off well for a distant second behind Wow You Can Dance two starts ago then followed with an unplaced effort behind the same horse last week. This is a race of less depth and she should be ready to strike her peak form after having four starts back from a break. HESASTAR (8) led out then took cover and battled into fifth last week. He parked without cover and performed fairly well at his previous four attempts so he is worth another chance. VILLAGE LOVER (4) is a fast beginner and will be fitter after his first run back from a long spell at Port Pirie. He is unlikely to be able to head off GROVE DALE (3) at the start but he should be competitive under these conditions. ROCKING WROXTON (9) enjoyed the perfect run in front and disappointed at the end when seventh ($3-50 fav) at Mildura last outing. He was placed against similar opposition at his two attempts prior so he is worth another chance.

BACK: SNEAKY PHILTRA (5) – 1.5 units (each way)
SELECTIONS: SNEAKY PHILTRA (5), HESASTAR (8), VILLAGE LOVER (4), ROCKING WROXTON (9)
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: APOLOGY ACCEPTED (10) has been placed in four of his past five starts and is working up to a win against this class. He was solidly supported and finished off well from the back when a game third behind Megawatts last week. PUNTO CALIENTE (1) finished off quickly and just failed to overhaul the in-form pacer Wow You Can Dance at Mildura last week. He is ideally drawn and is capable of going one better here. LOVE TO DEAL (2) has had a few chances since her latest win but she boasts a reasonable record at Mildura and she is a chance of gaining the lead shortly after the start so she cannot be left out of calculations. BIG BAD CHAD (4) can be a little one paced but he ran a reasonable race when sixth (8m) behind Wow You Can Dance last week and is not without a chance, particularly if he can get into a prominent position shortly after the start.
SELECTIONS: APOLOGY ACCEPTED (10), PUNTO CALIENTE (1), LOVE TO DEAL (2), BIG BAD CHAD (4)
Race 8:
OVERVIEW: PRIDDY CARSON (8) continues to improve with the benefit of experience and has been impressive over the past two weeks. He produced a barnstorming finish when an unlucky and close second behind Rubbleonthedouble then sustained a strong run to win last week. G B BRAVE (11) pushed forward from the outside of the front line to park without cover and battled on fairly well at the finish when fourth last week. He is very versatile and has been placed in eight of his ten starts at Mildura so he must be must be respected. GIDGETT KAY (1) ran a reasonable race at her Mildura debut two starts ago then appeared to have every chance at Bendigo. She won on debut in Sydney and has only been placed in one of seven Victorian outings but she is drawn to improve on that record here. BAZZAS LEGACY (3) was safely held behind She’s Poppy last week but he impressed with a trial win prior so an improved effort would not surprise. CAPTAIN PAPRIKA (2) is a former Western Australian pacer, which joins trainer Naomi Kerr. He has only had the one success in 28 starts but he has performed okay when fourth at the trials recently and must be kept safe.
SELECTIONS: PRIDDY CARSON (8), G B BRAVE (11), GIDGETT KAY (1), CAPTAIN PAPRIKA (2)
Race 9:
OVERVIEW: RUGGARDS GEE TEE (10) has done extremely well at his past four attempts at Mildura and finished determinedly when second behind She’s Poppy last week. He does tend to perform best when he is able to set the speed but he did show last week he can be competitive from a trailing position. ODINS BLACK CROWS (11) led throughout and dominated his rivals when taking on similar grade on May 29. He will appreciate a significant drop back in class on his past two unplaced performances and is worth another chance. SHIRLEY NOT (8) is a South Australian trained mare, which has been performing well at Globe Derby and must be considered as one of the leading chances. She won at Globe Derby two starts ago and finished off well in fast final sectionals at her latest fourth. ONLY ONCE BITTEN (3) led throughout and defeated She’s Poppy (won since) at Mildura then followed inside runs throughout at his latest Horsham third. He has been placed in four of his past five starts and should go well again from the good draw.
SELECTIONS: RUGGARDS GEE TEE (10), ODINS BLACK CROWS (11), SHIRLEY NOT (8), ONLY ONCE BITTEN (3)
