Inter Dominion champion Captains Mistress headlines nominations for the SEN Victoria Cup, with the $250,000 Group 1 feature set to take place at Melton on Saturday, October 17.
The star mare, who claimed this year’s Inter Dominion crown, is among 18 horses nominated for one of Victoria’s premier pacing features.
Trainer Jason Grimson has nominated six horses in total, including Captains Mistress and Swayzee, who won the Victoria Cup in 2024.
Jilliby Nitro is guaranteed a start after winning the Geelong Cup, while three previous winners of the race are among the nominations.
Max Delight, who claimed the 2021 edition, joins Swayzee and reigning champion Kingman in the nominations as they look to add another Victoria Cup title to their records.
The final field of 12 will be revealed on thetrots.com.au on Monday afternoon, before the barrier draw takes place live on Sky Racing’s Sky 1 channel from 10am on Tuesday morning.
