Craig Rail has your selections, strategy and Quaddie for Monday night at Terang

Race 1:
OVERVIEW: JILLIBY ZUCCHINI (7) settled at the rear of the field, came out three horses wide from the 1200m and moved up on the outside of the leader from the 900m when a big winner at Horsham in a slick mile rate of 1.55.5 last outing. She moves to the front line now and should prove hard to beat again. BLACK OPAL JACK (11) is resuming since a second at Horsham in June but he won a trial over Wicked Hangover on October 05. He is a smart type and should make his presence felt. The Matthew Craven trained pair JOE GOT ROLLED (2) and LOU EASYANA (6) are both resuming and haven’t been to the trials but they were competing against stronger opposition when they were last in work so they are worth thought. YNOBE NOVA (3) and HUXHAM CHUBB (4) are both racing well enough to figure in the finish.
SELECTIONS: JILLIBY ZUCCHINI (7), BLACK OPAL JACK (11), JOE GOT ROLLED (2), LOU EASYANA (6)
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: DISPERSION (1) trailed the leader, used the sprint lane and just failed to pick up Lambro Louella in a slick last quarter of 27.9 seconds at Horsham. He has shown a lot of ability at his three placed efforts to date and he should be winning a race in the near future. COLOSIMO (4) is a handy 3yo pacer, which performed well at the trials prior to his game first up third in a sizzling mile rate of 1.54.9 at Ballarat on Thursday night. He is very versatile and looms as one of the leading chances. BRIDWOOD MAISEY (8) is awkwardly drawn but she is a classy filly and should go well. She was resuming since an unplaced effort in the Breeders Crown Final when a handy third behind Keayang Hustler at Horsham. LOUS MAMBO (2) was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished well for fourth behind Regal Rock last time out. He is worth thought along with KEAYANG MARICRUZ (6), which won comfortably against the easier Maiden class at her latest attempt.

BACK: DISPERSION (1) – 1.5 units (each way)
SELECTIONS: DISPERSION (1), COLOSIMO (4), BRIDWOOD MAISEY (8), LOUS MAMBO (2)
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: SWIM SUIT (1) delivered a career best performance when he produced a big finale out wide on the track and finished a close up third in a slick mile rate of 1.56.7 at Maryborough on Monday. He is ideally drawn and gets his chance to break through for a win. BANGBANG BOBBIE (9) enjoyed a soft trip and hit the line strongly for second behind Captain Hank at Melton last outing. This race is no harder and he should be running home well again. LITTLEBYLITTLE (3) is a first starter for trainer Nicholas O’Connor, which has been performing well at the trials. He is worth thought from his good draw. KEAYANG ALABAMA (7) should be fitter after his first up fifth at Kilmore and JILLIBY UTAH (8) didn’t have much luck in the straight at Ballarat on Thursday night and is a place chance from his trailing draw.

BACK: SWIM SUIT (1) – 1 unit (each way)
SELECTIONS: SWIM SUIT (1), BANGBANG BOBBIE (9), LITTLEBYLITTLE (3), KEAYANG ALABAMA (7)
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: HAPPILY (1) will appreciate a big drop back in class on her latest eighth in the Super Series Final behind the star mare Theartofsuccess and will prove very hard to beat. She finished third in a heat of that series and was a very unlucky second at Ballarat three starts ago. JILLIBY SNIPER (2) is the obvious danger. He won twice in succession prior to contesting a heat of the Victoria Derby series. He boasts the strong record of four wins from just eight starts. RANGER RICK (5) has been placed in 12 of his 16 starts for the season without winning. He ran his usual honest race when a close third behind El Boston at Maryborough on Monday and is worth a ticket each way. BROWNIESATMIDNIGHT (8) is a speedy type that will have benefited from his first up run and is worth thought from his trailing draw.

BACK: HAPPILY (1) – 1.5 units (win)
SELECTIONS: HAPPILY (1), JILLIBY SNIPER (2), RANGER RICK (5), BROWNIESATMIDNIGHT (8)
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: DOCTOR GO JOH (8) is racing in good form against similar opposition and is a winning chance again. He was able to find the front at his two recent victories and he has drawn on the second line now but he is meeting very similar opposition here. HAVADASH JOH (4) will appreciate a drop back in class on his latest performances and is capable of improving on his numerical form. He loomed up to win but cost himself victory by breaking stride in the latter stages at Charlton last time out. SMOKIN STREPO (6) was resuming since a Mount Gambier victory in June when a creditable second behind THE IRISHMAN (7) on Tuesday night. He should have benefited from that run and is capable of going one better. THE IRISHMAN (7) was driven aggressively to find the lead in the early stages and held on to win at Mount Gambier. He has been racing well against this class and is worth thought again.
SELECTIONS: DOCTOR GO JOH (8), HAVADASH JOH (4), SMOKIN STREPO (6), THE IRISHMAN (7)
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: KEAYANG MINNESOTA (8) has galloped at her only two standing start performances to date but she will take beating if she delivers a fool proof display. She circled around to park without cover and won untouched when an impressive winner at Kilmore on Wednesday night. JAKARTA (7) was a winner under similar conditions at Terang on August 30. He sprinted quickly from midfield to join the leaders in the home straight and just peaked on his run over the final stages when a close up third behind Why Now at Ballarat last outing. HAPPY ESCAPE (6) began quickly from the standing start, raced without cover throughout and battled on too well to score at Mount Gambier last outing. This is a race of more depth but he is worth thought again. SNICKERS EXPRESS (5) has been racing consistently against similar opposition and is worth a ticket each way.
SELECTIONS: KEAYANG MINNESOTA (8), JAKARTA (7), HAPPY ESCAPE (6), SNICKERS EXPRESS (5)
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: KEAYANG GYPSY (4) settled midfield, came out three horses wide from the 600m and finished a close third at Geelong prior to working hard and peaking late in a strong race at Melton. She is proven from the standing start and should take beating under these conditions. KEAYANG LAVITA (5) commenced from the massive handicap of 60m when third behind Off Your Faceski at Terang two starts ago. The handicap of 40m is still a test but she warrants consideration. MEADOW VALLEY STAR (6) commences from the handicap of 60m but the very small field of four runners is a definite advantage. He was placed from the standing start when resuming then galloped away from the mobile start and lost his chance at his latest ninth at Melton. MAORIS AVENGER (1) has a National Rating of 47 and her three rivals are rated twenty points or more higher so she will need to do everything right to be competitive.
SELECTIONS: KEAYANG GYPSY (4), KEAYANG LAVITA (5), MEADOW VALLEY STAR (6), MAORIS AVENGER (1)
Race 8:
OVERVIEW: RAPTA (3) has been competing at a high level and is likely to find this assignment to be much easier. He finished fifth in Super Series Final, followed with a win at Charlton then competed in the Need For Speed Prince series, where second in a heat and unplaced in the Final. MISS MUSCLE (5) is backing up quickly from her effort at Geelong on Friday night but she is a talented juvenile trotter, which should run her usual honest race. She finished fourth in the juvenile section of the Super Series three starts ago and tried hard when a close second behind Night Flight at her next attempt. TAURAS (6) has performed well in both of his efforts since resuming and was a runaway winner in a Maiden event at Horsham last outing. This is a race of more depth but he cannot be left out of calculations. ARGYLE MUSE (4) was doing her best work at the end when a handy third behind The Chook last outing. She is yet to win in 14 starts but must be considered as a place chance again.

BACK: RAPTA (3) – 2 units (win)
SELECTIONS: RAPTA (3), MISS MUSCLE (5), TAURAS (6), ARGYLE MUSE (4)
