SELECTIONS: TOPHUT JOHNY (4), LAZENBY (11), BOND GIRL (8), DOT BALL (9)

OVERVIEW: TOPHUT JOHNY (4) is on the backup from Tuesday night where he appeared to have every chance after burning out of the gate unsuccessfully. He’s a horse who performs best in front when able to roll along at his own tempo, and he looks capable of finding the lead from this draw and proving hard to run down.
LAZENBY (11) put together back-to-back wins a few starts ago, including a victory at this track where he mapped well. He had little luck last start and despite the awkward draw can improve back in this grade. BOND GIRL (8), his stablemate, was also a winner here two starts ago after receiving a well-rated drive. She has a difficult draw but is racing better than most. DOT BALL (9) has started to find form recently, including a win on Tuesday night where she appeared to find the right race. She has claims again.

SELECTIONS: GALAXY LASS (9), JUST AS WELL (8), SOHO HUDSON (1), THE VILLAIN (5)

OVERVIEW: GALAXY LASS (9) drops sharply in grade after racing against much stronger company and performing well. Despite the back-row draw over the short trip, there appears enough early pressure for her to work into the race at the right time and finish strongly.
JUST AS WELL (8) also looks well placed with the mares’ allowance and although she prefers using her speed from the front row, this race could set up nicely for one late run if the gaps appear. SOHO HUDSON (1) must be kept safe as his runs since returning to Victoria, when he has behaved, have been good. His manners remain a slight concern, but there’s ability there. THE VILLAIN (5) has gate speed and deserves consideration at his home track, particularly with the stable in good form this season.

SELECTIONS: HOLD ON FOREVER (1), FARROH JOE (5), FIFTY SEVEN CHEVY (2), MILLION DOLLAR MAV (8)

OVERVIEW: HOLD ON FOREVER (1) has had two runs for the new stable and both have been encouraging against stronger opposition than he meets here. While his gate speed is only moderate, he should secure the right run either in front or behind the leader. His sectionals in recent runs have been strong and with the right trip he can prove too good.
FARROH JOE (5) is a two-year-old taking on older horses but has shown promising ability against his own age group. Despite the class gap in experience, he commands respect. FIFTY SEVEN CHEVY (2) resumes after more than a year off following one sound trial. He raced well against decent company last preparation. MILLION DOLLAR MAV (8) changes stables and remains under notice from the soft trailing draw. Any market support would be significant.

8 3358s8 ALDEBARAN SARIAH  Dr: Monique Burnett Monique Burnett Monique Burnett  1 $26
SELECTIONS: GYM QUEEN (5), TAURAS (7), DERSERT ROYALE (4), MISS KOMMUNICATION (3)

OVERVIEW: GYM QUEEN (5) is progressing nicely this preparation, learning with each run and edging closer to her maiden victory. While she begins outside the draw, that appears by stable design, and she has handled wider positions on the mobile arm well enough. The way she chased to the line last start is good enough to win a race like this.
TAURAS (7) won a trial impressively before resuming as an odds-on favourite but broke at the start and lost all chance. He raced in strong company as a two-year-old and the stable deserves respect to have him bounce back. DESERT ROYALE (4) looks the clear leader and over the short trip should give a strong sight. He was safely held by Gym Queen last start, however. MISS KOMMUNICATION (3) broke in running last time, which was out of character, but what she showed prior keeps her firmly in calculations.

SELECTIONS: LONGTAN VIPER (4), GIDGETT KAY (6), YANKEE MOJOH (2), REALLY SMARTIE (1)

OVERVIEW: LONGTAN VIPER (4) has really caught the eye in recent starts since joining the new stable, producing strong closing sectionals from difficult draws. He drops slightly in grade here and although he’ll still need some luck, he could represent value.
GIDGETT KAY (6) is a three-year-old filly from a strong stable who won at Menangle on debut. Her three runs back in Victoria have been in much stronger races run at genuine speed. With the right run she’s capable of sharp improvement. YANKEE MOJOH (2) is a winner at this track and has been racing consistently against moderate opposition. She maps favourably from the draw. REALLY SMARTIE (1) has the gate speed to lead, but his recent form has been below his best. He was racing well earlier in the campaign, though it’s difficult to know exactly where he’s at now.

SELECTIONS: PARIS JAMILLA (1), MOJITO MADNESS (5), THATS MY CARDIGAN (2), DESERT ASSASSIN (6)

OVERVIEW: PARIS JAMILLA (1) backs up from Bendigo on Wednesday where she led throughout and won impressively. She had also won the start prior and from this draw should again map favourably, either leading or taking cover. A repeat of her recent form should see her hard to beat.
MOJITO MADNESS (5) started an odds-on favourite at Melton last week and was disappointing after a promising run prior for the new stable. Her best form is clearly good enough, but she’s difficult to trust off that latest effort. THAT’S MY CARDIGAN (2) showed ability last preparation and strips fitter after finishing fourth last time. If he does everything right, he can be in the finish. DESERT ASSASSIN (6) hasn’t had much luck with draws and has been racing fairly. He won here four starts ago from a better draw when able to lead in easier company.

7 55s788 RYMES  Dr: Jackie Barker Don Lock Jackie Barker  7 $13
SELECTIONS: DREAMS OF LOVE (2), WHATS THE TEA (4), AGAINST THE BRIDLE (6), MISTER WALKER (1)

OVERVIEW: DREAMS OF LOVE (2) is a quick beginner, which is a major advantage in an even race over the short trip. She has had every opportunity recently and consistently attracts market support. She should give a strong sight, with the question mark only over the closing stages.
WHATS THE TEA (4) can be inconsistent but appears to get the right run from this draw and should be competitive. He’s still chasing his first win at Cranbourne after eight attempts. AGAINST THE BRIDLE (6) has a solid record at this track and won here three starts ago, though he’ll need plenty to go his way from the draw. MISTER WALKER (1) has had plenty of opportunities but maps for the right run in a race with several chances.
