SELECTIONS: TEERDEE (9), HOLD ON FOREVER (12), SEW HOPEFULL (2), BEAU BECA (5)

OVERVIEW: Maiden event to start the night at Beckley Park and TEERDEE (9) looks to set up nicely here drawn two off the back row. On debut last Friday, she settled last and made a sustained run wide on the track through the last lap for third in a race five of these horses contested. She had the best last half of the race despite doing plenty of work three and four wide, and did a great job to only be beaten 8.8m. HOLD ON FOREVER (12) looks to have come back in good form for Dean Braun and steamed through the line from a bad draw first-up at Ballarat last week, SEW HOPEFULL (2) can run well if she leads as expected and BEAU BECA (5) has been thereabouts his three career runs to date and is next best. One worth considering for wider exotics is DIAMOND LOU (10), who has been held up both runs for David Miles and might go around big odds here.

SELECTIONS: STARZZZ DESTINY (9), ALWAYS A SHOWGIRL (6), KHANS CREED (8), BREATHE EASY (3)

OVERVIEW: STARZZZ DESTINY (9) has run last in her last three outings, but things haven’t panned out very well in those races and I think she can be a sharp improver here as the highest-rated runner in the small field. Earlier in the campaign, she managed good runner-up placings to Wild Card and Intrusion, and on that form she looks very competitive in this even contest. I fancy the speed will be on early with a number of fast beginners drawn off the front, including BREATHE EASY (3) who has been very brave as runner-up his last two at Ballarat. He looks ready to win. ALWAYS A SHOWGIRL (6) just missed in a photo from four back the pegs in a race ANOTHER WOODS (5) won at Melton on April 24 and chased home the smart Insider Trading for another second last week, while KHANS CREED (8) returns from a spell and might get the run of the race if WICHITA KANSAS (1) kicks up to hold the lead. Fascinating contest where you can make a case for them all!

8 462202 DELIGHTFUL CHARM  Dr: Kyle Marshall Basil Dooley Kyle Marshall  3 $5.0
SELECTIONS: ROMEO (6), DELIGHTFUL CHARM (8), MORRIS BROWN (7), POSTERIZED (4)

OVERVIEW: ROMEO (6) showed some real talent last season as a two-year-old, winning by big spaces in a couple of races at Cranbourne and Bendigo before being outclassed in the Vicbred Super Series. He’s trialled really nicely for his return, including a fast-finishing third from last in a quick final quarter at Melton on April 28, and he should be able to resume with victory here. DELIGHTFUL CHARM (8) was only grabbed in the shadows of the post last Friday and is knocking on the door for new trainer Basil Dooley, MORRIS BROWN (7) didn’t run too bad for fourth first-up for new connections but has an awkward gate, and POSTERIZED (4) has good early speed and could figure in the placings if he was able to find the top fresh from a break.

8 207140 SIR CANDY CLOUD  Dr: Reagan Clarke Malcolm Bull Reagan Clarke (C) 7 $3.2
SELECTIONS: SIR CANDY CLOUD (8), PICKLE IT (5), THE MOUNTAIN (7), OSCAR BRAVO (1)

OVERVIEW: Not much form to get excited about here in this battle between the 0-39 rated horses, but SIR CANDY CLOUD (8) looks to get a good chance as the sole runner off the back row. Three starts back at Ballarat he settled in the 1x1 and sprinted hard to beat Midnite Desire, who got out late and just missed. His subsequent run at Cranbourne was good before sitting parked and boxing on okay last time at Ballarat. PICKLE IT (5) is the horse to beat if he is able to spear across and find the front, but that won’t be easy with some speed drawn underneath him. Two starts ago, he ran a good third to Aveiro from the pegs in a stronger race than he finds himself in here. Other leading chances appear to be THE MOUNTAIN (7) and OSCAR BRAVO (1), but not much would surprise here.

8 55s788 RYMES  Dr: SCRATCHED Don Lock SCRATCHED  $31
SELECTIONS: COLTRANE (7), STEADY DREAM (2), BUCKLES FOR BERRY (3), NIGHT FLIGHT (6)

OVERVIEW: COLTRANE (7) is very hard to trust, but his best is pretty good and a faultless trotting display will see him very hard to beat here. He’s made mistakes his last two starts and dropped right out, but before that rounded up his rivals giving them big starts at Ballarat and Terang. If he trots, he probably wins. Stablemate STEADY DREAM (2) got clear of the fence and let rip with a big sprint to win at Melton last Friday, BUCKLES FOR BERRY (3) is first-up from a break and showed some good signs last prep, while NIGHT FLIGHT (6) is going along well for Katrina Fitpatrick and KYVALLEY JENNY (1) has the gate speed to race prominently, but both would need some luck to win.

SELECTIONS: KITTY CASH (5), EMILY MEAGAN (3), SPANISH RIZARDO (7), VOLSTEADSDELIGHT (8)

OVERVIEW: KITTY CASH (5) showed plenty of promise in her first race preparation, highlighted by an all-the-way win at Ballarat on debut back in late November. While we haven’t had a chance to see her at the trials since a spell, she’s fancied to take this suitable 0-2 win event. EMILY MEAGAN (3) is running very honestly for team Murphy and hasn’t been far away her past few, fast beginner SPANISH RIZARDO (7) was able to win two back and wasn’t beaten far by a handy one last time, while VOLSTEADSDELIGHT (8) didn’t trial too badly on April 28 in preparation for her first start since July 2025.

SELECTIONS: TAURAS (6), SUMMIT MEETING (1), ROSE ALL DAY (4), MISS HOLLY RED (2)

OVERVIEW: TAURAS (1) started in the market on debut during September in a heat of the Nutrien series and was only beaten 8.3m by the very handy Munny The Munster, who we saw win impressively at Shepparton recently. He hasn’t been seen at the trials this time in, but he’s favoured in a difficult race to assess. ROSE ALL DAY (4) hasn’t shown much at the trials ahead of her return here, but started in the market at times last preparation and was close-up on a couple of occasions, after some solid trials, SUMMIT MEETING (1) looked set to fight out the finish on debut at Kilmore before galloping at a crucial stage, and MISS HOLLY RED (2) showed gate speed to lead and was only run down in the closing stages at Melton last Friday, but she certainly had her chance as the times were slow.
