OVERVIEW: VANCE LANE (6) was resuming since October when he progressed forward to find the lead and was run down late at his first up second behind Roseofthewinds at Ballarat. He competed against strong opposition during his juvenile season and he should be getting fitter so he must be considered as a winning chance. SNICKERS EXPRESS (4) settled in the second half of the field and sustained a long run when third behind Moreep last outing. He has been trotting consistently and should run his usual honest race here. BETSY ANNE (3) led throughout at a Bendigo victory on June 03 and followed with a second at Maryborough. She has been unplaced at her past three attempts but leading reinsman James Herbertson returns to the sulky and she is a good chance of finding the lead in the early stages so she can return to some form. IM EDDIE (5) will find this assignment to be a little easier than his latest performances so he is not without a chance.

OVERVIEW: PICK UP ELVIS (2) is resuming since a sixth in the Breeders Crown at Melton in December and he hasn’t been to the trials but he has the ability to test this field. He won six races in succession prior to contesting Super Series and Breeders Crown events at the end of his last preparation. ULTIMATE VINNIE (6) has been racing against the Metropolitan open class and strikes his easiest assignment for some time. He endured a tough run and faded late when seventh behind Sir Jimmy last outing. His third placed effort behind Oliver Dan at Melton on June 06 is a good form pointer to this event. JAZZY MELEA (1) will appreciate her best draw for a long time and is capable of improving on her numerical form. KOMODO (4) left a trailing position to move up without cover when a brave second behind Serg Blanco at Mildura last week. He possesses a powerful finishing burst and will be suited to competing in a small field of seven runners.

OVERVIEW: RAMA SAIGO (4) appeared to have his chance after trailing the leader early and moving up without cover from the 700m at Melton but he kept on chipping away for second. This race is no harder and he should keep improving with the benefit of experience. TAURAS (7) lacks solid racing but he has ability and must be kept safe. He is resuming since a sixth at Cranbourne in May, where he was a top four chance but broke stride with 150m remaining. SOLO SAPPHIRE (8) produced a career best performance when she settled on the markers, was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off well for third at Maryborough on July 13. She broke stride in the score up and lost her winning chance when fifth at Stawell last outing. She is still learning but has claims if she gives a fool proof display. CALLINAN (5) and KYVALLEY JOKER (6) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.

| 8 | 233243 | RANGER RICK NZ Dr: Jackie Barker | David Lewis | Jackie Barker | 2 | $7.0 | |||
OVERVIEW: SAVON DE ROCHE (6) was resuming since May and produced a massive performance when she pressured the leader Delightful Miki throughout and proved to be too strong at Maryborough. This is a race of more depth but she showed last outing that she is capable of taking the next step forward. KEAYANG VIPER (4) remains undefeated from three starts and looms as the logical danger. He progressed forward to find the lead at the 1600m and held off the challenge of Jilliby Kymy Lou at his latest Terang success. THE SPORTZ STAR (3) led throughout to score at Horsham then had little luck after commencing from the inside of the second line at Melton. He is a good chance of leading out then taking cover so he must be considered as a winning chance. RANGER RICK (8) continues to build on his consistent record and is a versatile pacer so he is worth a ticket each way. LEWIELEWIS (7) is resuming since a ninth at Melton in March but he is a strong type when racing at his peak form. He hasn’t been to the trials but is worth thought along with his stable mate OUT TO STAY (1).

OVERVIEW: JILLIBY KYMY LOU (2) began quickly to lead, ran along at a rapid rate and was beaten on the line in a slick mile rate of 1.54.3 at Geelong on July 17. She is perfectly drawn and should give another bold showing. JILLIBY SNIPER (7) was a big winner on debut and was spelled after an unlucky fourth at Terang in December. He finished third at a recent Terang trial performance and he has the class to test this field. EYESEALITTLE (5) commenced from the inside of the second line, sat in the trail and went to the line jogging with no clear run when an unlucky sixth at Mildura. Her form prior was strong and she is worth another chance. MAGELLAN (6) began quickly to find the lead, ran along at a genuine tempo and was beaten on the line when second behind Allgood Vinnie at Stawell. He is worth thought along with FIVE CENT (8) and VINNY ROCK (9).

OVERVIEW: TORQUE IN HEAVEN (10) is racing in peak form and looms as one of the leading chances again. He followed victories at Maryborough and Charlton with a close second at Stawell behind PRESIDENTIALCHANGE (8), where he just failed to peg back the leader in the straight. This race is of similar standard so he is worth thought again. TACTICS ARE ROLLIN (3) trailed the leader early, ended up being three back on the markers and was held up for a run at a vital stage when a handy finishing third at Stawell last outing. She is ideally drawn and should be competitive again. MARGARITARI (6) continues to perform consistently and sustained a long run from a rearward position at the bell when fourth at Stawell last week. She is widely drawn but she rates as a value hope. THE REGULATOR (9) gained a nice trail behind BOND GIRL (7) in the final circuit and finished off well for a good win at Cranbourne last outing. He is worth thought and BOND GIRL (7) also performed well in that event so she is not without a chance.

OVERVIEW: BIGBASHASH (7) will be ready to strike her peak form after having three starts back from a break and should be competitive against this line up. She worked hard when third ($1-55 fav) at Charlton then had little luck in the early stages before gaining a trail at her latest sixth. EL LAZZAR (5) commenced from the inside of the second line and was shuffled back on the markers when tenth at Terang last outing. He was able to work to the front shortly after the start when he won easily at Charlton in a mile of 1.56.4 prior so he is worth another chance. KEAYANG SUPREME (6) won comfortably when on debut at Mount Gambier then followed with a ninth at Terang. She is still learning but appears to have some ability and is worth thought. IMALLATTITUDE (4) made a mid-race move to park without cover when a good winner at Maryborough then tried to sustain a long run from last when fifth at Stawell. She is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and is not without a chance.
