SELECTIONS: RAMA SAIGO (4), TAURAS (7), SOLO SAPPHIRE (8), CALLINAN (5)

OVERVIEW: RAMA SAIGO (4) appeared to have his chance after trailing the leader early and moving up without cover from the 700m at Melton but he kept on chipping away for second. This race is no harder and he should keep improving with the benefit of experience. TAURAS (7) lacks solid racing but he has ability and must be kept safe. He is resuming since a sixth at Cranbourne in May, where he was a top four chance but broke stride with 150m remaining. SOLO SAPPHIRE (8) produced a career best performance when she settled on the markers, was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off well for third at Maryborough on July 13. She broke stride in the score up and lost her winning chance when fifth at Stawell last outing. She is still learning but has claims if she gives a fool proof display. CALLINAN (5) and KYVALLEY JOKER (6) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.
