SELECTIONS: MAGGACIS (7), GRENADE (3), NEVS DREAM (6), CORNELIA (5)

OVERVIEW: MAGGACIS (7) bounced back to his best form with a runaway victory over a field of very similar standard at Mildura last week. He is awkwardly drawn on the inside of the second row but he is clearly the horse to beat if he receives normal luck in running. GRENADE (3) finished a distant second behind MAGGACIS (7) last week and appears to a strong quinella chance again. He possesses early pace and should settle close to the speed from his good draw. NEVS DREAM (6) is a brilliant beginner and led throughout for a dominant victory at Mildura two starts ago. She attempted to lead throughout at her latest fifth but is worth another chance against this field. BEARTASTIC WRITER (1), STONEBRIDGE STAR (4) and CORNELIA (5) are all worth thought in multiple combinations.

SELECTIONS: KEAYANG CRIPPA (4), APOLOGY ACCEPTED (8), BEAUDIENESGOLD (3), BIG BAD CHAD (9)

OVERVIEW: KEAYANG CRIPPA (4) had no luck whatsoever from a wide draw and finished a distant fourth behind Maggacis at Mildura last outing. He raced without cover throughout when second behind Nev’s Dream prior and he strikes a suitable assignment now. APOLOGY ACCEPTED (8) performed below expectations when sixth ($2-90 fav) at Mildura last outing. His previous form was sound including a victory at Mildura on February 11. He should gain an economical run from his trailing draw and will be hitting the line strongly. BEAUDIENESGOLD (3) trailed the leader and finished a distant third behind Diamond Krusher at Mildura two starts ago. She possesses early speed and is a place chance again. BIG BAD CHAD (9) is resuming from a break and is awkwardly drawn but he is a strong type when racing at his peak. He overcame a tough run when he scored at Mildura in August so he might go well first up.

SELECTIONS: ZANY GIRL (5), FOXY TWO GLOVES (8), CHEERS POVERTY (7), WATCHTHECLOCK (6)

OVERVIEW: ZANY GIRL (5) is resuming since a Mildura victory over Thebucksonyou in August. She hasn’t been to the trials but she is a smart mare, which has won four of her nine starts so she must be respected. FOXY TWO GLOVES (8) is a tough mare, which won impressively at Mildura two starts ago and will appreciate a significant drop back in class for this assignment so she looms as one of the leading chances. CHEERS POVERTY (7) is racing in peak form and is worth an investment despite the awkward draw. She trailed the leader and used the sprint lane when a close second in a slick mile of 1.56.0 last outing. WATCHTHECLOCK (6) faces a negative swing in the barrier draw but he won clearly after leading throughout at Mildura last outing and is not without a chance.

SELECTIONS: SOHO HUDSON (1), AVOCA BLUES (4), LEWIELEWIS (5), MODERN GINGER (9)

OVERVIEW: SOHO HUDSON (1) was resuming since July when he scored comfortably at Menangle. He has since joined trainer Vince Vallelonga and he is a good chance of ending up being behind the leader from the pole position so he can go well at his Mildura debut. AVOCA BLUES (4) is a fast beginner and has returned to his peak form. He led throughout at a Mildura two starts ago then followed with a close second at Kapunda. He should give another forward showing. LEWIELEWIS (5) won at Boort last outing and will find this race to be easier than his latest unplaced effort in the Birchip Cup. He is a versatile pacer and looms as one of the leading chances. MODERN GINGER (9) trailed the leader, was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished solidly for a close second behind GOOD BOOTS BINDI (8) last outing. He will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and is worth thought.

SELECTIONS: MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (9), HOT DEAL (7), PRIORITISE (6), KEAYANG MOROCCAN (5)

OVERVIEW: MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (9) boasts a very good strike rate at Mildura and should go well despite the poor draw. He sustained a big run from last when an impressive winner over HOT DEAL (7) on January 23 and his past two unplaced efforts were in the Ararat and Birchip Cups. HOT DEAL (7) performed below expectations at his latest Mildura performance but he has won ten of his twenty-two starts on the track and is strong enough to be in the finish. He did take on a top field when fifth in the Pure Steel two starts ago. PRIORITISE (6) is resuming since being unplaced in the Gunbower Cup but he won a trial at Mildura on Monday night and will be competitive if he is somewhere near his peak. POWERSOFPERSUASION (4), KEAYANG MOROCCAN (5) and JAXON BEACH (8) are all racing well enough to be worth thought against this line up.

SELECTIONS: BITE THE EAR MIKE (6), THE NINJA (1), THE FINAL DANCE (3), BLISSFULL RED (7)

OVERVIEW: BITE THE EAR MIKE (6) is a first starter for South Australian trainer Peter Bain, which won a trial at Gawler in reasonable time and strikes a very suitable assignment. He is the first foal out of Jovial Julie (1.56.7), which won ten races and stems from a strong Queensland maternal family so he is worth thought on breeding alone. THE NINJA (1) has been placed at his past seven starts and deserves to break through for a win. He worked hard to find the lead and was run down by Itsallgee when second at Mildura last outing. THE FINAL DANCE (3) is resuming since November but has performed fairly well at the trials and was placed in a mile rate of 1.55.5 during his last preparation so he must be respected. BLISSFULL RED (7) and DON KATTERZ (12) are both minor place hopes.

SELECTIONS: G B BRAVE (3), CALF PEN (8), SHES POPPY (9), GLITZY ALL OVER (11)

OVERVIEW: G B BRAVE (3) makes his Mildura debut for trainer Kate Attard and should go well. He hasn’t won a race since May 2024 but he was racing against much harder opposition when he was last in work. CALF PEN (8) possesses a handy finishing burst and looms as the likely danger. His past two Mildura placed efforts have been sound and he recorded a super mile rate of 1.53.5 when he scored at Charlton on January 19. SHES POPPY (9) raced wide early, was restrained to a rearward position and finished off well for third behind GLITZY ALL OVER (11) last week. She is racing better than her form reads and rates as a value hope. GLITZY ALL OVER (11) is racing in career best form and finished off best to win easily at Mildura last outing. She is likely to settle at the back of the field from the extreme draw but she is racing too well to dismiss.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL LENNY (4), LOWER MANHATTAN (11), ALWAYS ON SAFARI (10), SHES MAGICAL (2) ᅠ

OVERVIEW: ROCKNROLL LENNY (4) was resuming since December when a game second behind Watchtheclock last outing. His trial form prior was strong and he is a good chance of finding the lead shortly after the start so he is worth an investment. LOWER MANHATTAN (11) is poorly drawn for his Mildura debut but his form in South Australia is strong and he should be competitive again. He overcame a tough trip when a big winner at Port Pirie last outing. Trainer Naomi Kerr has four runners engaged to contest the last race and each horse is racing well enough to figure in the finish. SHES MAGICAL (2) led throughout at a Mildura victory three starts ago, ROOSTER PHILLIPS (6) also led throughout on February 11, HOOKLINEANDSINKER (9) has been placed in four of his six starts for the season and ALWAYS ON SAFARI (10) won three races in succession at the turn of the season. INDIANAS SON (5) finished off best from behind the leader to win last outing and is worth thought again.
