OVERVIEW: THEMIDNIGHTEXPRESS (5) may not have the best numerical form, but he has competed against some of the strongest horses in his two-year-old age group throughout his short career. Last start at Melton, he raced in the breeze in a fast-run event before tiring late. He will appreciate the drop in class, although the awkward barrier means he will still need some luck. CALEDONIAN RANGER (2) raced well in a handy field at Geelong last start. He has a good turn of foot and should enjoy a favourable race map. Similar to THEMIDNIGHTEXPRESS (5), LA CANTARICE (3) is another two-year-old who has been competing at a high level. She is consistent, competitive and has plenty of ability. SUPER CODE (1) can take advantage of the ace barrier and should enjoy a favourable run throughout.
