OVERVIEW: HOOKLINEANDSINKER (3) is a brilliant beginner and set up a very genuine tempo when second behind The Naked Art in a mile rate of 1.56.6 at Mildura last outing. He is drawn to suit his racing pattern and is sure to make his presence felt. ALWAYS ON SAFARI (9) is a strong 4yo pacer, which has been placed at his past six attempts and should go well again. He overcame a tough trip to win at Gawler then worked into second behind the in-form pacer Lilstrepo at Mildura last outing. THEBUCKSONYOU (7) appeared to have his chance when a distant third last week but he is building up a consistent record and is a place chance again. LOUIEVILLE (2) led throughout at a Mildura victory in fast time on December 03. That was his only placed effort from his past nineteen starts but he should give a forward showing from his good draw.

OVERVIEW: CARLISLE CRUISER (7) has a trailing draw behind the fast beginner AVOCA BLUES (1) and is capable of going one better than last week, where he produced a big finish out wide on the track behind Merrywood Paul. I OF THE HURRIKANE (4) is racing consistently and didn’t have much luck when fourth in a sizzling mile of 1.53.5 at Cranbourne last outing. She has three fast beginners drawn on her inside but she should be finding the line nicely if she gains the right luck in running. MIDNIGHT PIRATE (3) went very hard in the early stages and did well to finish in fourth at Mildura last week. He should be getting fitter and is drawn to be prominent throughout. DALLAS MIKI (2) and CAULONIA TERROR (8) are both capable of showing up without surprising.

BACK: CARLISLE CRUISER (7) – 1.5 units (each way)

OVERVIEW: ROYAL SAXON (5) is racing in great form and is a good chance of leading throughout. He led, kicked clear on the home turn and was grabbed on the line when second behind Watchtheclock last week. CHEERS POVERTY (8) raced without cover throughout, pressured the leader and went down fighting when third behind Monsieur Flamel in a mile of 1.55.2 at Charlton last week. He prefers to race close to the speed so being drawn on the second line is a disadvantage but he is racing too well to dismiss. ESCOBAR (7) will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and was able to win a race at Mildura at the end of last season so he rates as a value hope. ORATOR (4) has performed well from behind the leader at her past two attempts and is worth thought again from her reasonable draw.

OVERVIEW: APOLOGY ACCEPTED (7) is awkwardly drawn but performed well last week after gaining a nice trail and finishing off fast to be beaten by a narrow margin. He should be finding the line well again. DIAMOND KRUSHER (6) has struck peak form having won at her past two attempts and she was a runaway victor after gaining the one out and one back trail last week. She is meeting a field of similar quality now and is capable of completing a hat trick. MAGGACIS (5) was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off nicely when second behind DIAMOND KRUSHER (6) last week. He should be ready to strike his peak form after having three starts since a spell and is worth an investment. HESASTAR (4) performed below expectations last week but was a strong second prior and is worth another chance.

OVERVIEW: SWEET MARION (8) broke stride at the start and lost all chance when ninth at Charlton last outing. She ran a game third in a mile of 1.57.8 at Charlton two starts ago. This is a suitable assignment and she will be hard to hold out in the run to the finish. THE NINJA (2) has been placed at his past three attempts against similar opposition and is drawn to be prominent throughout. He began quickly to lead and battled on fairly well for third last week. BLISSFULL RED (1) has been safely held at her two starts to date and is having another attempt tonight with her third different trainer! She makes her Mildura debut and this is much easier so she is a possible improver. BRIEISBETTER (5) has been placed in three of her past four starts against similar opposition and is a minor place chance again.

BACK: SWEET MARION (8) – 3 units (win)  

OVERVIEW: TOUGH AINT ENOUGH (7) was headed off at the start, moved away from the inside to park without cover and endured a tough run when fifth behind Santa Casa Beach last week. His overall form is strong and he should prove hard to beat despite the awkward draw. JAXON BEACH (8) has returned to his peak form over the past two weeks and looms as one of the leading chances. He attempted to lead throughout when a close third two weeks ago then chased hard at his latest second in the race won by Santa Casa Beach. KEAYANG MOROCCAN (6) competed in the same race last week and worked to the line nicely for fourth. He is widely drawn but is capable of running into a place. MODERN GINGER (3) is also racing well enough to be considered in multiple combinations.

OVERVIEW: THE DEVIL ROLLS ON (7) was a big winner at Charlton two starts ago after he was caught wide in the early stages, restrained into a trailing position then worked home well at the end. She missed out narrowly in the race won by Brave Art last week and looms as one of the leading chances. WAITPINGA REACTOR (5) returns from New South Wales and has joined trainer Ryan Hryhorec. He has been unplaced in four starts at Mildura previously but he won at Tamworth two starts ago and strikes a suitable race for his return. SHES MAGICAL (4) settled down in a rearward position after coming from the second row and attempted to sustain a long run when a creditable third last week. She led throughout at a Mildura victory prior and should go well again. SECRETSANDLIES (3) is racing consistently in South Australia and is not without a chance.   

OVERVIEW: ROJENBYE (8) finished off best to win at Charlton two starts ago then followed with a third behind Secrets Kept in a much stronger race last week. He will prove hard to hold out in the run to the finish from his good trailing draw. KEAYANG CRIPPA (1) was runner up after trailing the leader from the pole position two starts ago so he must be considered as a winning chance. DAYSIE BROWN (3) possesses early speed and should give a forward showing under these conditions. She was runner up at Mildura four starts ago and will take catching if she is able to find the lead. GLITZY ALL OVER (5) should be hitting the line strongly and SUNSHINE WARRIOR (2) has claims if he puts his best foot forward.
