OVERVIEW: MAURLEN COMPASS (8) was resuming since May when he charged home out wide on the track in a slick final quarter of 27.7 seconds at his latest eye-catching fourth. He is awkwardly drawn but he should have benefited from his first up performance and his form last preparation was strong so he must be respected. MADAM REACTOR (6) is a fast beginner and likes to race close to the pace. She trailed the leader throughout when second behind Major Hayley at Shepparton last outing and should be competitive again. ELIZAJANE (5) finished off well for a close second behind Foregone Conclusion then was doing her best work at the end when a handy fourth in the race won by Major Hayley last week. She is racing well and deserves to break through for a win. EEBEEBEE (9) and IAMAWINGATE (10) both won against easier grade last week but are racing well enough to be competitive again.

OVERVIEW: OLLIES THE BOSS (8) began quickly to find the lead and was run down late by the smart pacer Sweet Irish Loch at Melton last outing. He was held up for a run at a vital stage and produced a big finish when a game second behind Sols Me Name three starts ago and he gets his chance to break through for a win under these conditions. KING SAINT (4) went back at the start, angled wide on the home turn and finished off strongly when a handy second behind Rollonart last week. He does possess early speed and his overall form is strong so he is capable of going one better now. WICKED MITZI (7) should be getting fitter after having two starts back from a break and is capable of filling a place. She began quickly and ended up being behind the leader when fourth behind Rocknroll Willow at Stawell last week. KIA ORA BEAUTY (5) was held up for a run at a vital stage when a handy fourth at Albury last outing and is a place hope along with LONG TAN VIPER (6).

| 8 | 955353 | ARRAPS Dr: Donna Castles | Donna Castles | Donna Castles | 3 | $11 | |||
OVERVIEW: OUR MYSTERY BET (5) is a versatile pacer that is usually competitive against this class. He has been placed in four of his past five starts and he overcame a tough trip when he scored against similar grade at Shepparton back in May. TOMMYS LOOKOUT (6) is racing in career best form and looms as one of the leading chances. He settled midfield on the markers, was held up for a run at a vital stage and charged along the sprint lane when second behind Tex Goes Bang last outing. TOPHUT JOHNY (3) hasn’t produced his best form for some time but he is better drawn for this assignment and has the early speed to gain a prominent position so he gets his chance to improve. ARRAPS (8) tends to perform best when he is able to lead but he produced a good performance after racing on the outside of the leader at Kilmore last outing so he warrants consideration.

OVERVIEW: ELLIANA (5) trailed the leader and finished in second behind Imon two starts ago then was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off well for a handy fourth at Kilmore last week. She is a maiden from 16 starts but she strikes a suitable assignment now and must be considered as a winning chance. MAJOR FRIEND (3) began quickly to lead, took cover behind the eventual winner Esthers Best at the 1100m and battled on fairly well for second last week. She is nicely drawn and this race is no harder so she is worth thought again. BETTER THEN DAICOS (4) is a former New South Wales pacer, which joins trainer Mick Carbone. He was narrowly beaten when second behind Zealyn at a recent Kilmore trial performance and must be kept safe. A ROCKN NIGHTMARE (8) performed below expectations last outing but is capable of better. DEMARTINO (7) settled in the second half of the field and picked up some ground when fifth at Shepparton last week. He is poorly drawn but is not without a chance. The first starters ARRIVAL TIME (1) and OUTPOST (6) have both performed fairly at the trials and cannot be left out of calculations.

| 8 | 613436 | FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT Dr: Glenn Bull | Glenn Bull | Glenn Bull | 1 | $5.0 | |||
OVERVIEW: DOT BALL (5) settled three back on the markers, was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off well for a game second at Cranbourne. She was a winner at Cranbourne on July 05 and this appears to be another suitable assignment so she is clearly the horse to beat. FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (8) will appreciate a drop back in class for this event and will be fitter from his first run in five weeks at Shepparton last week. He performs best when he is close to the pace so being drawn on the second line is a disadvantage but he appears to be well placed against this line up. AMADA VILLMA (6) is resuming since a sixth at Boort in March and hasn’t been to the trials. She possesses early speed and is a minor place hope against this line up. THE LADYBIRD (4) and GOODTIME MAE (7) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.

| 8 | 183781 | DREAMTIME NALA Dr: Jack Laugher | Mick Carbone | Jack Laugher | 6 | $4.0 | |||
OVERVIEW: DREAMTIME NALA (8) was confidently supported and was able to lead throughout when a comfortable winner at Melton last outing. She drops back to the second line now but this is a race of similar standard and she must be considered as a winning chance again. CLIVES GIRL (7) was left stranded on the outside of the leader throughout when a creditable fifth behind Major Hayley at Shepparton last outing. She has had a few chances recently but this appears to be a suitable assignment. IMAGUNNARESTNGO (5) settled three back on the markers, angled wide on the home turn and finished off best to win at big odds (150-1!) at Melton then held her ground at the end when fourth at Cranbourne. Her past two efforts have been good and she is worth thought again. MISS HERMES (2) raced without cover throughout and went down fighting at Shepparton then settled too far back after commencing from the inside of the second line last week. She has claims from her better draw this evening.

| 7 | 0s9728 | SKYVALLEY BOY Dr: Ashley Manton | Ashley Manton | Ashley Manton | 5 | $7.0 |
OVERVIEW: FRITSCH (6) was resuming since December when a handy finishing third behind Brother Mountain at Kilmore. He should be fitter from that performance and he was competitive at a much higher level at his last campaign of racing so he warrants respect. SKYVALLEY BOY (7) gained a nice trail throughout, came to the outside on the home turn and finished off strongly for a close second behind Banos then broke stride at the start when unplaced last outing. He is a winning chance if he delivers a fool proof display. KITTY CASH (4) was severely checked at the 400m and lost her chance when a distant fourth at Cranbourne. She won at Cranbourne on June 28 and appears to be well graded against this line up so she is worth another chance. AMIRA (3) trailed the leader, came to the outside on the home turn and finished off best to win at Kilmore. She is meeting field of more depth now but is worth thought again.

OVERVIEW: MISTER JIMARINGLE (6) gets into a very suitable assignment and is a chance of returning to winning form. He ran a game race when a close third behind Asmileandawinx in a mile rate of 1.56.4 two starts ago then settled in a rearward position from a poor draw at his latest unplaced performance. HELLOVATIME (8) will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and has been racing consistently. He is awkwardly drawn but should be hitting the line strongly. VINNI THE GANGSTER (11) is a former Tasmanian pacer, which won at his Victorian debut at Cranbourne in May 2025 then was spelled. He lacks solid racing but he has ability and will take beating if he is somewhere near his peak form. MAURLEN GRACE (9) and WHATS GLENDA GOT (10) are both racing well enough to feature prominently in an open race to commence the program.
