Impressive first-up Albury Pacers Cup champ One Two Many will chase another country feature at Boort this Sunday afternoon.
The Russell Jack-trained gelding has drawn gate four for his tilt at the Councillor Neil Beattie and Family / VHRC Boort Pacing Cup, which headlines a wonderful day of racing at the Loddon Shire club.
It will be the son of Captaintreacherous’ second run this campaign, with Leigh Sutton set to take the drive.
A field of 10 has been assembled for the $14,500 feature, which is for horses with a national rating between 70 and 95.
Mary-Jane Mifsud-trained Imnopumpkin is back at the races after a Hamilton Pacing Cup failure in mid-January but has a sticky outside front row draw, while WA pacer Budd Sidewinder makes an appearance for new Victorian-based trainer-driver Ashleigh Markham.
Other key chances in the race appear to be Franco Jolto (Kelvin Barker), Im Shadow Boxer (Ashleigh Herbertson), Hes Under Wraps (Andy Gath) and top-rated combatant Brallos Pass (Mark Watson).
The Boort Pacing Cup is a leg of the Trots Country Cups Championship, which is currently led by Belinda McCarthy-trained star Spirit Of St Louis.
A field of 10 is set to face the starter for the The Honourable Peter Walsh / VHRC – Aldebaran Park Benefiting Our Members Boort Trotters Cup.
Chissy sits second on the Maroi’s Idol Trotting Championship leaderboard and joins Jason McNaulty-trained stablemate Travel Bug in the field, while Gath will send Kiwi import Get Lucky around for his Australian debut.
With seven races scheduled throughout the afternoon, the club also has a big day of entertainment planned off the track.
There will be music, kids’ activities, a punters’ club and fashions on the field, with free entry for all spectators.
