An old punting saying fails to ring true for one TAB customer

Sadly for one punter, it wasn’t a case of the more you bet, the more you win at Ararat races on July 9.

The TAB customer launched a $10,000 wager on Peter Manning-trained The More You Bet at the short price of $1.55, but was left disappointed when that horse could only manage third in the Acacia Caravan Park 2YO Pace.

While that bet lost, $5000 cracks on Hello I Tea at $2.25 and $2.30 landed earlier in the night.

Below are some of the big bets taken by the TAB on Victorian harness racing last week.

WINNERS ARE GRINNERS

$5,000 a PLACE at $1.28 on Jilliby Nitro (Melton Race 7 on July 14)
