A total of 934 yearlings – 536 pacers and 398 trotters – will go through the ring at the Black Book Sale at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania from Monday, November 7 to Wednesday, November 9.

The sale features half-brothers or sisters to a host of world champions including Allywag Hanover, Bythemissal (pictured), Warrawee Ubeaut, Warrawee Needy, Dynamic Youth, Elver Hanover, and trotters Atlanta, Father Patrick, JL Cruze, Buck I St Pat, Lifetime Pursuit, Hannelore Hanover, It’s Academic, Triumphant Caviar and Dejarmbro.

Other yearlings are siblings to USA 3YO Colt of the Year Bettor’s Wish, Boston Red Rocks (2YO Colt of the Year), the millionairesses Filibuster Hanover, Western Fame and Cam Swifty,  Shake It Cerry (USA 2YO and 3YO Trotting Filly of the Year), Anoka Hanover (2YO Trotting Filly), Canadian Horses of the Year in Century Farroh and Desperate Man, Dorsoduro Hanover (USA 3YO Pacing Colt), Fire Start Hanover (2YO Pacing Filly), the USA Pacer of the Year and successful sire Well Said and this year’s Hambletonian winner Cool Papa Bell.

There’s yearlings out of world champion racemares such as American Jewel, Gallie Bythe Beach, Shebestingin, Hana Hanover, Classic Martine, Bluffa and Possess The Magic, the million dollar earners Michelle’s Power and Stonebridge Kisses and the Canadian award winners Percy Bluechip (2YO Pacing Filly) and The Ice Dutchess (2YO Trotting Filly).

The catalogue features strong representation from most of the leading American sires including Bettor’s Delight, Captaintreacherous, American Ideal, Always B Miki, Somebeachsomewhere, Sweet Lou, Downbytheseaside, Art Major, Stay Hungry and Huntsville and the top trotting stallions Chapter Seven, Muscle Hill, Walner, Cantab Hall, Muscle Mass, Father Patrick and Trixton.

First crop sires with yearlings at the sale include former USA 3YO Colt of the Year Bettor’s Wish, the Breeders Crown champion Captain Crunch, the former co-world record holder Lather Up, the USA Trotter of the Year Greenshoe and the world champion trotter Six Pack.

The sale boasts strong drafts from many of the leading American standardbred nurseries including Hanover Shoe Farms, Blue Chip Farms, Diamond Creek Farm, Hunterton Farm, Concord Stud Farm, Peninsula Farm and Winbak Farm.
