An extraordinary early burn softened up the favourite and Susan Is Her Name was on the spot to take advantage and claim a Breeders Crown.

The Aldebaran Park two-year-old trotting fillies' class will be remembered for the extraordinary 42.9-second lead time, the equal quickest by trotters of any age at Melton, when Brad Williamson put the handlebars down on Aroha Kenny after launching from the widest front row gate.

Jayden Barker and Rockinwithattitude resisted, but they would be vulnerable late to their lead rival, the Emma Stewart-trained Susan Is Her Name, who swept to the biggest win of the former Queenslander's young career.

Aldebaran Park Breeders Crown for 2YO trotting fillies champions:
Horse: Susan Is Her Name
Trainer: Emma Stewart
Driver: Mark Pitt
Owner/breeder: Bruce Wyborn
Breeding: By Sebasian K out of Hands Of A Star

THE RACE:

An early two-horse war between Aroha Kenny and Rockinwithattitude paved the way for a swooper to steal the Group 1 for two-year-old trotting fillies.

And that horse was Susan Is Her Name.

The Emma Stewart-trained and Mark Pitt-driven juvenile sat back off the brutal 42.9sec lead time and blended into the race beautifully in the last lap, charging clear to win by seven-and-a-half metres over a brave Rockinwithattitude.

THE WINNING WORDS:

Mark Pitt: "I was a little bit concerned I was a little way back, but I do know how fast this horse is. They had to come back, they did burn early. She deserves that. She's been runner-up in a few of the nice races, that was well deserved by her."
