Breeders Crown 4YO pacing E&Gs: Dominant final Act

Act Now will burst into next Saturday night’s SENTrack Inter Dominion with winning confidence after dominating the final race of tonight’s thrilling Breeders Crown finals.

Gifting trainer Emma Stewart a remarkable sixth win on the 10-race card, Act Npw was in a class of his own in the Hygain four-year-old entires and geldings championship, cruising throughout in Jodi Quinlan’s hands to build on the pair’s remarkable strike rate.

Quinlan’s driven him in all but his first three starts and been in the seat for 14 of his 15 victories, including claiming the Breeders Crown at age three and running second to Major Moth in the final at age two.

Hygain Breeders Crown Championship for 4YO pacing entires and geldings champions:
Horse: Act Now
Trainer: Emma Stewart
Driver: Jodi Quinlan
Owner/breeders: Bruce and Val Edward
Breeding: By Somebeachsomewhere out of Mollys Ideal

THE RACE:

It was an Act Now front-running masterclass in the last race as on the card as the star four-year-old gave nothing else a chance with a flawless performance from the head of affairs.

He led easily from barrier five, and slowly upped the tempo with closing quarters of 28.8sec, 27.0sec and 26.8sec to win comfortably by seven metres.

THE WINNING WORDS:

“Sometimes he just coasts along but tonight he was in a funny mood. He just wanted to look at everything. He was waiting for something to sit outside him and then he lifts, that didn’t happen tonight. He still carved out a couple of all right sectionals.”
