Camp Quality a big winner as Andy takes out Charity Challenge

A last-gasp winner has given Andy Gath victory in the 2023 Harness Charity Challenge.

The master trainer proved master tipster throughout the month of October, with his $200 hypothetical wager on Beach Hopper during the final day of the competition enough to lift him to the top of the leaderboard.

Gath’s win in the Harness Charity Challenge resulted in a $6000 donation to his partner Camp Quality. He was clear of runner-up Liam Armstrong ($3000 to Riding For The Disabled Wagga Wagga), third-placed Kirsten Graham ($1800 to Share The Dignity), fourth-placed Danny Kennedy ($840 to HRV Hero) and fifth-placed Elizabeth MacLean ($360 to St Kilda Mums).

Competition organiser Steve Salter joined Toby McKinnon on SENTrack and revealed the Harness Charity Challenge had now raised over $145,000 since 2015.

“I was just blown away by how far this has come and how many people get on board for the ride throughout the whole of October. It’s just amazing,” Salter said.
