SHEPPARTON 16/01/20

Trial 1: - BUSTER BRADY wasn’t bustled out of the gate but he progressed forward and found the lead shortly after the start. He set up an even speed and won with something in reserve. THEREAL USAIN COLT produced a very nice trial performance and finished second. He settled five back on the inside, moved up without cover from the 600m mark and finished determinedly in the straight. SPUNKYOLA settled three back on the inside and was able to duck back into the sprint lane in the straight to finish third. HARPAGUS picked up some ground from six back on the markers to finish fourth in front of WILLEM, which tired after leading out then taking cover. RETURN SOLDIER settled four back on the inside and beat home WAYONBYE, which was last throughout.

Trial 2: - SANTA CASA DREAM settled five back on the markers and worked into the race stylishly in the last quarter. She finished over the top of her rivals to win with plenty in reserve. ALLVICTORY HANOVER showed very good early pace to lead by a handy margin early. He tried hard in the straight but couldn’t repel the challenge of SANTA CASA DREAM. The juvenile pacer THE KEW LEGEND continues to perform nicely at the trials. He finished fifth in a heat of the Leeton Breeders Plate at his debut and on Thursday night he finished on well from four back on the inside. WALKAMILEINMYSHOES settled three back on the markers and moved into the death seat with 500m remaining. He finished fourth in front of WINGING GRIN, which began quickly and ended up being behind the leader. BIG BLUE (Modern Art – Rosetta Lombo) and QUIETACHIEVER (Bettors Delight – Artistic Dancer) were second last and last throughout with QUIETACHIEVER yielding ground with approximately a lap remaining.

Trial 3: - GUNNING showed brilliant gate speed to lead and was completely dominant over his rivals, racing clear in the final stages to win by 35m. THE BEST DREAM settled three back on the markers and picked up second in front of SEVERE STORM, which trailed the leader throughout and had her chance. DIZZYSJET settled four back on the markers and trotted very roughly at various stages of the event. She finished fourth in front of CLASSIC MARLI (Bad Boy Truscott – Classic Hannah 2.10.5, $7,244), which also trotted very roughly during the run.

Trial 4: - MAJOR BOB was an impressive winner of the final trial. He dropped back to be last of the four runners, came out three horses wide on the home turn and produced a big finish to win. FLETCHAS ROY trailed the leader ROLLING ALONG and was held up for a run at a vital stage before driving along the sprint lane in the latter stages. He did accelerate nicely in the final 100m. HEAVEN IN LOCKSLEY settled three back on the markers and raced a little roughly during the run but finished third with the early leader ROLLING ALONG dropping back to be last of the four runners.

BLACKBOOKER: - Major Bob

MILDURA 19/01/20

Trial 1: - SWEARENGEN settled three back on the markers and moved to the death seat with 500m remaining. He was able to grind out a victory and scored by a narrow margin. JIMMY REACTOR (Auckland Reactor – As I Say 1.58.0, $69,791) is a nicely bred pacer, which ran a nice second. He settled last on the markers, moved away from the inside at the 500m and finished off quickly out deep on the track. He obviously has ability and is worth following. GOLDEN SCRIBE led comfortably from the pole position and set up a moderate tempo. He ended up finishing a close up third. LOYOLA ROCKNROLLA (A Rocknroll Dance – Karinda Gem 1.59.6, $6,406) finished fourth after trailing the leader and ROCKING WROXTON (A Rocknroll Dance – Party Time Girl) (four back markers) finished last of the five runners.

Trial 2: - USAGE showed very good gate speed to lead and had a handy margin over his rivals throughout. He was getting a little weary late but held a comfortable margin at the finish. CELEBRITA trailed the leader throughout and finished second ahead of CROWBAR JOHNSON, which eased back at the start and moved up without cover from last at the bell. MAC A BOY (Shadow Play – La Bella Ruby) was four back on the markers throughout and beat home RUBY REACTOR (Auckland Reactor – Larilla Lace 2.3.2, $13,585), which settled one position ahead of him in the run.

Trial 3: - PENNY SNATCHER was clearly the class runner of the field and she produced her usual early speed to lead comfortably. She did gallop away at the races a week earlier but she is usually a good front runner and she produced an authoritative display to win by a large margin. PATTYS ANGEL settled down last of the five runners and moved away from the inside with 500m remaining. She sustained a good run to finish in second ahead of OUTA CONTROL, which trailed the leader throughout. APACHE WIND settled down fourth back on the markers and finished fourth ahead of POLONIS OUR MATE, which raced without cover momentarily, slotted on the markers to be third and galloped in the back straight on the final occasion.

KYABRAM 19/01/20

Trial 1: - THATSWHATSHESAID was stood down to trial at his previous race track performance and was able to take out the opening trial by a large margin. WELL I SAID (Well Said – Quick Method) finished in second position ahead of ARRAPS (Rock N Roll Heaven – Soho Joplin). MARKLEIGH SHARKEY (Four Starzzz Shark – Markleigh Terri 2.3.4, $2,476) was a distant fourth.

Trial 2: - BACARDI WOOD is having a good season and was able to win the second trial over WANTALINGA DREAM, which was stood down to trial after his latest seventh at Bendigo. SPIDER DUNBAR has been a frequent visitor to the trials recently and finished third ahead of CAST NO SHADOW.

Trial 3: - SPECIAL DREAM recoded slow time but was able to take out the final trial from BLAZING TERROR and SASSCILIAN finished in third position. MISSMETRO (Metropolitan – Immortal Miss) is an unraced mare and was taking on mostly multiple winners so she was meeting hard opposition thus finishing last of the four runners.

BENDIGO 20/01/20

Trial 1: - ANDYOU settled four back on the markers from the handicap of 30m and moved up without cover at the bell. She was clearly the class runner of the field and she asserted her superiority in the run to the finish. YANKEE TWISTER (Yankee Spider – Telern Grace) stepped away reasonably well then galloped shortly after the start before recovering to be three back on the markers. He worked home for second in front of the early leader WINNIE COOPER, which set up a moderate tempo. WHIRILY ROLLS finished in fourth position after trailing the leader and DARK CLOUD was last on the markers from the start and galloped with 1200m remaining.

Trial 2: - ADAM CROCKER settled fifth and last early before moving up without cover with 900m remaining. He kept on progressing forward in the final circuit and was able to grind out a victory in the straight. GRACIES SHADOW led in the early stages, took a trail then found the lead again at the 500m when GO ACCUSED (American Ideal – Low Velocity 1.56.8, $121,993) galloped. She only missed out in scoring by a nose margin. ONECROWDEDHOUR (Western Terror – Kayceem Grand 2.3.3, $11,493) was three back on the markers for most of the trip but trailed the leader from the 500m mark and finished a close up third. LETS MAKE TRACKS settled four back on the markers and moved into the one out and one back trail behind the eventual winner. He finished ahead of GO ACCUSED, which pushed forward to lead early but broke stride in the back straight on the final occasion.

Trial 3: - SULTAN SASS (Majestic Son – Heart of Glass) raced without cover throughout and proved to be too strong for the early leader ALDEBARAN PHOEBE. IM MISS ROYALTY (I’m Stately – Miss Tiny Tot 2.2.9, $118,668) battled away fairly well for third after trailing the leader throughout. BELLMAC BAMBI (Imperial Count – Aladen Star) settled three back on the inside and made up some ground via the sprint lane in fourth position. LADY LIL (I’m Stately – Our Little Lil 2.3.7, $32,944) settled four back on the inside and moved into the one out and one back trail behind the eventual winner. She finished fifth in front of the pacer BONTON SUNSHINE, which settled last early then steered a very wide course in the final stages of the trial.

Trial 4: - OZZIE PLAYBOY (Pet Rock – Smooth Felicity) trailed the leader before coming to the outside approaching the final bend and sprinted home too well. BACKWARDS FIRST (Captaintreacherous – Nikita Maguire 1.59.1, $17,230) set up a solid tempo in the lead and finished in second position with OZZIE PLAYGIRL (American Ideal – Smooth Laura 1.57.7, $133,798) being in third after being three back on the markers throughout. STEINMARK (Western Terror – Chic Gina) dropped back to be in last position in the early stages and saw the field safely home.

Trial 5: - TRITTTRITTBANGBANG was able to post an impressive victory after settling four back on the inside before moving into the one out and one back trail and producing a big finish. SHAQ was without cover early, dropped back to the markers (3 back), before moving up without cover again. He battled on well for second and WHATA ROLLER (Roll With Joe – Whata Avenue 1.53.3, $92,536) produced a big finish from five back on the markers to finish in third position. POLLY PEACHUM trailed the leader and finished fourth ahead of RAMBUNCTIOUS, which pushed past her in the early stages to find the front running role. BOAK (Village Jolt – Moriva 2.1.7, $15,738) settled in last position around the first corner and remained at the tail throughout.

BLACKBOOKER: - Whata Roller

Trial 6: - CHU CHITS raced without cover and tried to find the lead early before angling in behind FLAMING FIVES. That pair dominated the trial and raced well clear of the others with CHU CHITS getting the better of FLAMING FIVES in the latter stages. WILL PATRICK (Fling It – Conchs Critter 2.3.1, $90,846) broke just after the start and ended up five back on the markers. He got up for third position ahead of WHOSE ME MUM (Angus Hall – Susuwe 2.6.6, $15,791), which ended up being three back on the markers and broke stride with 700m remaining. JUST OSCAR settled four back on the markers and broke stride several times in the last circuit.

Trial 7: - CASTING SHADOW settled four back on the inside before moving into the one wide line (1-2) and coming out three horses wide from the 700m. He sustained the run to hit the lead in the straight then held off the late closing LIGHTING COLONY, which finished well from three back on the markers. NIKITA ADELE finished a close up third after setting the speed with MEANDMYBIGMOUTH (Tell All – Meandmyshadow 2.2.7, $6,125) being fourth after trailing the leader. The trotter REGAL PEPPERELL moved up without cover from the bell and finished fifth ahead of LIBERLAND, which settled down last and followed REGAL PEPPERELL for the majority of the journey.

Trial 8: - COURAGEOUS SAINT settled four back on the inside before moving into the one out and one back trail and coming out three horses wide approaching the home bend. He produced a good finish to take out the trial from BRALLOS PASS, which settled down last and switched out four horses wide before running home strongly at the finish. VALENTINA BRAVE trailed the leader and finished third ahead of PLAYING THE ACE, which left a trailing position (3 back) to race without cover from the bell. The early leader DANMAN dropped back to finish last of the five runners.

MELTON 21/01/20

Trial 1: - SOHO TSUNAMI (Somebeachsomewhere – Valencay 1.57.6, $29,291) trailed the leader VOUCHERS throughout and produced a good finish to get the prize. VOUCHERS held down second in front of NOTORIOUS JOE (Roll With Joe – Legal Art), which settled sixth before moving away from the markers at the 900m then switching back to the inside and using the sprint lane over the latter stages. DIEGOS DIAMOND settled four back on the markers and came wide into the straight. He finished fourth in front of A ROCKNROLL WALTZ (A Rocknroll Dance – Our Waltzing Mathilda 1.57.7, $12,313), which settled down three back on the markers. ALL THAT DANGER (Bells and Whistles – Francisco Diva) was five back on the markers throughout and beat home EVOS DREAM (Pet Rock – Dashem), which was always at the tail end of the field.

Trial 2: - MEYDAN (Andover Hall – Showmethemaori) was an impressive winner of the second trial. He settled last of the five runners before moving away from the inside in the back straight on the final occasion and producing a big finish. LUTETIA (Quaker Jet – Pepperell Magic) settled three back on the markers and used the sprint lane to finish second with MOREFLINGTHANBLING (Fling It – Extroglory 2.4.9, $16,750) finishing in third position after trailing the leader throughout. ALDEBARAN LEROY ran along in the lead and wanted to over-race a little during the middle stages. He ended up in fourth ahead of EN ESPECES LIBRE (Ready Cash – Kincaslough $133,286), which was four back on the markers throughout.

Trial 3: - FRANKING CREDIT (Western Terror – Let’s Go Baby 2.0.5, $26,833) settled five back on the inside before moving into the one out and one back trail. He produced a good finish to narrowly defeat NIKI NAH NAH (Captaintreacherous – Niki No No 1.55.6, $294,455), which trailed the leader and shot along the sprint lane in the latter stages. MARCYS STAR (Falcon Seelster – La Bella Ruby) tried to lead throughout but was gunned down in the final 100m. BETTERTHANFLYHIGH (Betterthancheddar – Mazza’s Delight) was three back on the markers throughout and beat home ESCVADOR (Rock N Roll Heaven – Sascha Fearce), which moved up without cover from four back on the markers with 700m remaining.

Trial 4: - ROCK ON SHADOW trailed the leader and produced a solid finish to win the trial over STEFSASTAR (Art Major – Nightshade Franco), which came from fifth and did well to get up for second. HARPOCRATES was inconvenienced in the score up and ended up settling four back on the inside. He finished third ahead of FIREINTHEHOLE, which picked up some ground from six back on the inside. BELLASTEEL (All Speed Hanover – Universal Alice 2.1.7, $22,326) settled down last of the group and beat home the two mistake makers in MISTER PARMESAN and JAHUN JOE.

Trial 5: - The Breeders Crown winning filly IM READY JET was able to take out the trial comfortably from SHOWEMYOURMUSCLES, which showed improvement on his recent trial performances. That pair got well clear of the others headed by NORMANDY BELLE. The Chris Lang prepared trotter SPECIAL INTEREST was fourth ahead of EARLION and IMAMAOIJET saw the field safely home.

Trial 6: - LUVYOUBABE raced without cover in the early stages but was able to progress forward and run to the lead with 1700m remaining. She set up a genuine tempo and was too good in the run to the finish. LARAJAY MACRAY began very quickly from the inside gate to lead comfortably. She eventually took cover and held her ground in the run to the finish. The Inter Dominion winning trotter TORNADO VALLEY settled four back on the markers before moving into the death seat in the back straight on the final occasion. He continued to make up ground for a gallant third. THE KIWI WAY settled last of the competitive chances and moved away from the inside at the 800m mark. She ran a nice trial fourth as she was picking up ground in the latter stages. BE MAJOR THREAT was five back on the markers throughout and beat home MOLLYWOOD (6 back markers), SMILE LYLE (3 back markers) and CORRINYAH CONMAN struck early bother and was tailed off throughout.

Trial 7: - WILSHIRE BOULEVARD (Somebeachsomewhere – Wheres Hollywood) continued his good trial form and scored comfortably over SHESA POCKETROCKET with ILLAWONG KISMET being in third position. SASSYS A TERROR was able to pick up fourth position ahead of MAJOR MAL, which was formerly with Vince Vallelonga and is now with trainer Ahmed Taiba. FINAL PEACE finished second last after a big trial effort a week earlier and CITY OF ROSES (Bells And Whistles – Aristano Is I) was the last one to greet the judge.

Trial 8: - MADEEBA settled four back on the markers and finished off best to get the prize from VILLAGE VOICE, which did a good job to come from last and pick up second. EXTORTION settled three back on the markers and finished on fairly well for third with the early leader WARPIE dropping back to fourth. SPEEDY MACH settled down five back on the markers before moving up without cover from the 1300m mark. She dropped out late and finished fifth with ILLAWONG ASTRO dropping out to be last after trailing the leader throughout.

Trial 9: - ANDOVER SUN settled three back on the markers and accelerated beautifully in the straight to record an easy victory. SCALLYWAG SAM was able to find the lead comfortably and rolled along at a reasonable tempo before becoming a little leg weary late. He finished second ahead of BACARDI CARTA, which settled down last of the four runners. SOBOMBA trailed the leader and looked to be travelling well before the home turn but galloped with 200m remaining and finished last of the four.

Trial 10: - GOODTIME HEAVEN continues to impress at the trials and came from fourth on the markers when she moved into the one out and one back trail at the 550m mark and unleashed a powerful finish to win. FORTY THIEVES began with his usual early speed to find the lead and was run down on the line. ROCKNROLL CHAPEL finished in third position after trailing the leader throughout. TOUGH CALL settled three back on the markers and was the first to move up without cover. He finished fourth in front of WAR DAN, which lobbed around at the back of the field and was never extended at any stage.

Trial 11: - ITSALLANDOVER hasn’t raced since being unplaced in the Breeders Crown in August but he came from three back on the markers and won the trial impressively. ESSEX PLAYER (Andover Hall – Another Player 2.4.0, $62,088) settled four back on the markers and finished as well or if not better than the winner so his effort was very good. FLING IT ALL ABOUT began very quickly to find the lead from the handicap of 10m then took cover behind JUST ANYTHING. She was aided by JUST ANYTHING galloping with 300m remaining and was able to work into third position. JUST ANYTHING ended up in fourth while GUN SLINGER and WALKERVILLE STAR were both tailed off after poor getaways.

BLACKBOOKER: - Essex Player

Trial 12: - RONALD J is a classy former New Zealand trotter, which joins trainer Andy Gath. He settled three back on the inside and finished quickly to win well. The pacer HOLY BASIL came from the handicap of 20m, settled down last and motored home out wide on the track when the race was all over. He finished second ahead of the early leader IMPERIAL WHIZ. IZMOK settled four back on the markers and was able to work past STRESS FACTOR (trailed leader) over the latter stages.

ARARAT 21/01/20

Trial 1: - KURRACA TAMMY (Camlach – Play Time Lady 2.2.1, $40,933) is a daughter of Camlach, which scored over another qualifier in MILLIONDOLLAR KISS (Million Dollar Cam – Kiss Me Monty 2.1.9, $5,739). TWO JACS (B G’s Folly – Sanction Abreezin) finished a distant third with IT’S A GOOD FEELING (Mr Feelgood – It’s Bonus) coming in at the tail of the field.

Trial 2: - NOWHERE CREEK is a handy type and was able to score over SURFSUP TIGERPIE (Somebeachsomewhere – Blucolla Tigerpie 1.53.8, $212,507), which is out of the former classy mare Blucolla Tigerpie. STRAIGHT UP finished a distant third with the trotter CAESAR MOMENT running in last of the four runners.

KILMORE 22/01/20

Trial 1: - SHANIA TEE (Shadow Play – Dancinwithjodi 1.59.3, $12,773) led throughout and scored by a large margin. BARBADOS BABE settled three back on the markers and worked into second in front of the juvenile OUR ARABELLA (Blissfull Fella – Modern Mary 1.56.6, $29,485), which trailed the leader throughout. JAZZY BAY (Heston Blue Chip – Jazzy Art 1.57.4, $62,763) settled last of the four runners before moving up without cover at the half mile marker. She dropped back at the end and failed to beat a runner to the line.

Trial 2: - BEACH BABE NIKKY led out then took a trail before moving into the death seat at the 500m mark. She sprinted sharply to hit the lead turning out of the back straight and scored comfortably. FINAL OVER trailed the leader early before moving around to find the lead at the 1500m mark. He couldn’t match the speed of BEACH BABE NIKKY but he held on well for second. ASHINCHARGE finished in third position after being three back on the inside throughout. QUIETACHIEVER (Bettors Delight – Artistic Dancer) settled last on the markers and dropped off in the latter stages.

Trial 3: - THEULTIMATE settled four back on the markers before moving up without cover at the 600m mark. He sustained a good run and was able to score nicely in the run to finish. MEA CULPA trailed the leader and was able to swoop to the front at the 500m mark. She couldn’t hold off THEULTIMATE but was able to beat the remainder of the field comfortably. ATLANTAS was three back on the markers throughout and beat home the early leader CASINO BARRY (Heston Blue Chip – Casino Princess 1.59.7, $31,715), which peaked on his run from the 500m mark.

Trial 4: - VAN SANK is a smart trotter, which showed plenty of promise throughout his juvenile season. He settled three back on the inside and finished off quickly to defeat SHADOW JUSTICE, which trailed the leader. VAN SANK did appear to be jogging at the finish. KYVALLEY CLICHY settled four back on the inside and finished third. SAN SEVERO began brilliantly to lead but was beaten 500m from home and tired into a distant fourth.

BLACKBOOKER: - Van Sank

Trial 5: - KYVALLEY SURFRIDER was able to lead comfortably and set up a slow tempo. She was just able to hold on in the latter stages. ALDEBARAN ZEUS (Muscle Hill – Zoia Boko) is a juvenile trotter and did a great job to do everything right and run a close second at his first trial performance. He settled down last and moved up without cover with 500m remaining. KYVALLEY SENATOR finished last of the three runners after trailing the leader throughout.

Trial 6: - SON OF A WHIZ raced without cover in the early stages, progressed forward to find the lead and scored easily. DREAMEE settled last early but ended up being three back on the markers when THE HONOURS broke stride with 1800m remaining, losing approximately 50m. She was able to get up to second ahead of GOODTIME PE RABBIT, which ended up trailing the leader for the majority of the journey. THE HONOURS couldn’t recover after his early gallop and finished last of the four runners.
