Dan, Britt, Bronte and Ryan’s $200 game plans for Melton

Dan Mielicki, Brittany Graham, Bronte Nieuwenburg and Ryan Phelan have provided their $200 game plans for tonight’s big meeting from Melton Entertainment Park.

DAN MIELICKI

RACE CALLER

BEST BET ($50 WIN)

RACE 10 #10 INVITATION ONLY

In form, can make his own luck and is at each-way odds.

BEST VALUE ($25 EACH-WAY)

RACE 2 #4 KEAYANG IGNITE

I’m a fan of this lightly-raced trotter that has been plagued by injuries. He was excellent first-up and is open to more improvement.

BEST ROUGHIE ($10 WIN and $20 PLACE)

RACE 4 #6 JILLIBY ILLUMINATE

— SCRATCHED —

TRIFECTA ($30)

RACE 6 (6/2,8,9/2,8,9)

I expect my top four tips 6,2,8 and 9 to all race on the pegs, and with Leap To Fame likely to work to the lead, it seems a logical exotic play.

QUADDIE ($40)

RACES 4-7 (1,3,5,8,9/1,3,4,5,8/6/7,8,10)

With a projected $400k pool, it’s worth a crack tonight and taking Leap To Fame one-out may help make it a Treble.

BRITTANY GRAHAM

SKY RACING

BEST BET ($75 WIN)

RACE 2 #2 CALLMETHEBREEZE

This French trotter impressed me immensely in his Australian debut behind Just Believe and looks a clear pick in the first GSS heat from a perfect draw second-up.

BEST VALUE ($30 WIN)

RACE 3 #3 ARCEE PHOENIX

Whilst he is clearly the horse to beat in the final, I think Just Believe is vulnerable in the second heat at the hooves of Arcee Phoenix. He was simply awesome in the Maori Mile and a recreation of that performance would see him give a bold bid for victory.

BEST PLACE ($25 PLACE)

RACE 6 #8 MAX DELIGHT

Max Delight is a genuine place player for me in the A G Hunter Cup at tempting odds. While many, including myself, have Leap To Fame as a clear horse to beat, I think Max Delight is flying and gets a charmed trip three fence where he should be flooding home.

TRIFECTA ($30)

RACE 5 (BOXED 1,3,4,8)

After the barrier draw and on exposed form, I think there are four main winning chances in the 4YO Bonanza.

QUADDIE ($40)

RACES 4-7 (1,3,8,9/1,3,4,8/6/3,9)

A tough start to the Quaddie with the Gold Chalice and 4YO Bonanza as the opening legs, but with the enormous projected pool of $400k it’s a must play.

BRONTE NIEUWENBURG

HARNESS RACING VICTORIA

BEST BET ($40 WIN)

RACE 1 #9 MAJOR THINKER

Rates well on numerical form and sectional times, with a top driver taking the reins.

BEST EACH-WAY ($20 EACH-WAY)

RACE 2 #3 HESALLMUSCLE

He’s race fit, full of confidence and should find a good position in running.

BEST ROUGHIE ($20 EACH-WAY)

RACE 10 #3 RADIUS

High gate speed in an even field. He should find a good position and could be flashing late.

QUINELLA ($40)

RACE 6 (2/6)

Catch A Wave and Leap To Fame are two superstars who will likely be first and second throughout the whole race. It will be hard for horses from behind to run past them.

TRIFECTA ($40)

RACE 5 (BOXED 1,4,8)

Perfect Class and Frankie Ferocious will have ideal fence-line runs, with the favourite Captains Knock also racing up near the front. They should be hard to beat.

RYAN PHELAN

HARNESS RACING VICTORIA

BEST BET ($100 WIN)

RACE 2 #2 CALLMETHEBREEZE

French import who was massive first run in Oz behind Just Believe. Holds all the aces from the good draw.

BEST VALUE ($15 WIN)

RACE 3 #3 ARCEE PHOENIX

The great Just Believe has a sticky draw off the back row. This bloke can lead and run time. Worth a small play.

TRIFECTA ($40)

RACE 2 (2/4,6/1,3,4,5,6)

Standing out the best bet Callmethebreeze. Think there’s value behind him, particularly Keayang Ignite.

QUADDIE ($45)

RACES 4-7 (3,5,7,8,9/1,3,4,5,8/6/3,9,10)

Wide early, standing out the champ Leap To Fame in the third leg and I’ve narrowed down the last event to three horses.
