Dexta delivers at Geelong for one big TAB punter

South Australian trotter Aldebaran Dexta had been beaten in his previous two trips to Victoria, but one TAB customer cashed in on his breakthrough success across the border at Geelong last Friday night.

The punter launched $6500 on Ryan Hryhorec’s squaregaiter at $1.70 before his victory in a heat of The Lang Trot at Beckley Park.

While that proved one of the big collects last week, another punter was left seeing red when Emma Stewart’s star mare was beaten in the Make Mine Cullen at Melton on Saturday night.

They placed $4240 on Ladies In Red at $1.55, but watched on as she was beaten up along the sprint lane by Rakero Rebel at bolter’s odds.

The bet proved one of the big plays on Victorian harness racing last week, with all of TAB’s big hits and misses listed below.
