Superstar pacer Rock N Roll Doo will start from outside the back line in his return to Australian racing at Cranbourne on Saturday night.

The 2022 Victoria Cup champion has gate 12 for the Group 1 DECRON Cranbourne Pacing Cup, where he will be partnered by trainer and regular reinsman Michael Stanley.

Rock N Roll Doo recently returned to his home in Burrumbeet after a three-start campaign in New Zealand and this Saturday is set to kick-start an attack on the country cups circuit en route to February’s Hunter Cup.

Hometown hero Bulletproof Boy has come up with barrier two for Scott Ewen, A Gs White Socks has barrier six first-up for new trainer Jess Tubbs, while Bundoran (seven), Torrid Saint (nine) and Mach Dan (11) are all backing up from last weekend’s Inter Dominion Pacing Championship Grand Final.

The race is the final leg of the 2022 Trots Country Cups Championship and Torrid Saint remains the only horse able to knock Demon Delight from the top of the leaderboard.

The Julie Douglas-trained pacer sits fourth on the standings, three points behind Demon Delight.

A win on Saturday in Cranbourne would secure Torrid Saint five points and victory in the championship, with a second placing returning three points to level him up.

The series carries a $25,000 bonus for the winner, with $15,000 given to the owners and $10,000 to the trainer.

Andy Gath-trained Havehorsewilltravel will look to keep hold of his lead in the Maori’s Idol Trotting Championship when he contests Saturday night’s Betavet Bruce Skeggs Memorial Cranbourne Trotters Cup.

The son of Angus Hall is four points clear of Shaun and Jason McNaulty’s Travel Bug, who is the only other horse that can catch him in the series.

Havehorsewilltravel has barrier 10 for the $50,000 feature, while Travel Bug draws in gate five.

Four rivals that contested last weekend’s Inter Dominion Trotting Championship Grand Final are backing up for Cranbourne, with Ofortuna (six), Sleepee (seven), Nephew Of Sonoko (nine) and Majestuoso (11) all set to tackle the Group 1.

Luke Humphreys will call Saturday night’s meeting from Cranbourne, with Ryan Phelan, Shannon O’Sullivan and Kirsten Graham part of the TrotsVision coverage.

The first event is scheduled for 6.24pm, with the last to go at 10.27pm.
