Jason Bonnington is oozing with confidence about John Justice’s Huli Nien making it back-to-back wins at tonight’s Bendigo meeting.
The horse was a dominant winner at Tabcorp Park Melton last weekend and Bonnington felt the speed map shaped perfectly for the son of Rock N Roll Heaven to win the Woodlands Stud Pace this evening.
“Huli Nien is my best of the night,” Bonnington said during the Friday Form Panel edition of Trots Life.
“It sounds funny, he’s stepping up from a win in a $10,000 race last week back up to a 78-87 here worth $20,000. And this is why I thought we might actually get a price here. I marked him $3 and thought we’d get $6 here… he’s $2.80.
“I’m still going to back him because I’m so confident, the map just works so beautifully for him.”
Bonnington’s co-host Nikkita Ross also thought that Huli Nien would win, marking him on top in race six on the card.
Ross made Mister Jimaringle, a horse that chased home Huli Nien last week, her best bet of the night in the Smartline Personal Mortgage Advisers Pace.
The two Harness Racing Victoria form analysts came up with the same winning selections in five of the night’s 10 races, which will be live and free on Trots Vision this evening.
Bonnington will host the coverage alongside Kirsten Graham and caller Lachlan McIntosh, with the first event to go at 4.58pm.
