He’s done it plenty of times before and both Jason Bonnington and Luke Humphreys think that Im No Outlaw can bob up and win at a nice price this Saturday night at Tabcorp Park Melton.
The Julie Douglas-trained five-year-old opened at around $15 with the TAB, but even at $8.50 both form analysts are keen to play him in the WSM Plumbing Pace (1720m).
“He had no luck last start in the race that Boy From Bondi won last week. He’s got a seventh behind General Dodge before that, which very well could be the best form in Australia, and a second behind Boncel Benjamin before that, which is obviously good form,” Humphreys said during the Friday Form Panel edition of Trots Life.
“So I thought he’d found a good race and if the pace is on, I think he can come right into it. He’s obviously got the ability.”
While Bonnington felt the horse needed a perfect drive from barrier nine, believed he was an “each way bet to nothing, nearly”.
“This sounds harsh, but I don’t think he has got a real killer instinct. But if you can let him go at the right time, he is very quick,” Bonnington said.
“(If he’s) three wide with a cart, and again, he’d just have to get that perfect run, but I’m happy to find out what he can do at $8.50 and $2.60.”
