On an intriguing and puzzling yet exciting card at Tabcorp Park Melton, Harness Racing Victoria form analysts Nikkita Ross and Tim O’Connor have seen things playing out somewhat similar throughout the course of Saturday evening.
Ross and O’Connor worked through all 12 races during the Friday Form Panel edition of Trots Life on SEN Track, and agreed with on-top selections in six of those events.
Notably, both are extremely keen on the chances of David Aiken-trained Max Delight, who sits around a $2 chance on TAB markets to win the Bold David Free For All.
Ross made the five-year-old her best bet of the night.
“I think Max Delight will find his way to the top very comfortably,” she said.
“We spoke to (driver) Josh (Aiken) yesterday and he sounded really confident that the horse had gone to another level. He led and got a very comfortable time and just zipped home his last half last time out. This is tougher, however, I just think out in front he’s going to be too good.”
O’Connor made the horse a leg of his three-race multi, which also includes stablemate Honolua Bay and exciting young trotter Cover Of Darkness.
“He’s got blistering gate speed, he’ll go to the top and I just can’t see a horse getting past him based off how he’s going this preparation. He’s been super,” he said.
“I think $2 is good.”
Ross and O’Connor delved deep into the form for the entire Melton meeting and spoke to guests Mitch Sidebottom and Matthew Craven during the two-hour Trots Life show, which can be heard below.
